I've always been an outdoors guy. I love what the connection with nature can do for a persons mental, physical and spiritual health. After more than three decades overlanding, camping, hiking, exploring, and adventuring I think it's time to explore the deep blue sea. We have bought our first boat, and want to bring you along our new maritime adventure.

Owning a boat is a constant up keep process. The elements are tough, and it's easy to let your boat go from beuaty to beast in no time. It is fun work though, check out this how to seal an old teak deck video. I love the ocean. The beauty, the adventure of being out on the water is second to none. I love the industry and all the awesome gear that goes along with ocean fun, AND we have finally bought a boat! Join us as we explore the life of exploration and adventure on the sea.

Why do people keep spending money on watches they regret buying later, while their heart is set on a Rolex or the Holy Trinity? Stop buying $500-$2,000 Seikos, cheap Omegas, Tudors, etc. Instead, save that money until you can afford your dream watch. 99% of people do not care or know what you are wearing; only you know. So, stop buying unnecessary watches over 10-20 years and save to buy the one watch you truly want. Just be happy with your dream. You do not need more than one.
@@Mark-ph5nh watch collecting is s about enjoying watches. Multiple watches. The creativity of watch makers, the unique takes on execution, the community surrounding watches. It’s just fun. I think it’s fine if someone wants 1 watch or 100 watches, people are into it as a hobby and that is a good thing
@@advrob That enjoyment only lasted a few days. The realization that you spent hundreds of dollars here and there, or thousands over 5-6 years on watches, often means you lost money. If you had saved that money for a single watch-like a Rolex, which is the dream for many-you would have had enough for a Rolex Submariner or Datejust. Instead, you might have just spent time and money on watches that didn’t satisfy you as you hoped. It’s okay if you have plenty of money, but for many, it’s a waste of money. It’s an expensive hobby.
@@Mark-ph5nh I’m sure there are probably some people that are like that, but I think the mentality of settling because you just want to buy a watch is different than having fun collecting. I love the industry, hanging with people in the industry, checking out new makers and their watches, and when I’m not into a watch or I want to get rid of one, I love giving them away to my friends. Collecting definitely does not sound like it’s for you, but others that are into it, don’t just want a Rolex that we can’t afford at all. Different things for different people 👍
@@advrob ok thanks
Would have been nice if you gave close-up shot sof the watch.

@@angendecky9011 I am definitely using this as an opportunity to tighten production up. BUT, it does take time and it’s not really something you can perfect and then go for it. Handle colour matches perfectly with water. Perfect for losing it… what is going on at Benchmade? Why not use LC200N in a steel? I’ll stick with the Spyderco Salt series.
I have a couple of those too. Good knives
Agreed 100%, especially about the LC200N. Great comment on the color, I didn't even notice that I was too focused on the design issues. I agree that the Salt series has been a home run for me as well.
@@lynnjr457 PM2 Salt looks pretty slick. I mean, same old PM2 but has the LC200N.
Why does Benchmade continue to swing and miss with their overpriced knives? This should have been a combo blade given the amount of rope I spent cutting on commercial boats. I don't think you can go wrong with Magnacut, but it's an expensive option, and even harder to sharpen on a boat in rough seas. I have been using H1 for some time now and I have been very happy with the results. Easy enough to sharpen and I have yet to have corrosion issues. I'd be interested to see this knife broken down to see what the internals are made of. If they screwed up on the pocket clip, I suspect there are more corrosive parts inside the knife (i.e. the spring steel Omega Springs). It is an odd lock choice for a knife that will be used on salt water and opens it up to lock failures if the Omega Springs rust through.
Be aware that while the Magnacut steel blade is anti corrosive resistant, that the pocket clip is not even Stainless steel and will rust as testing on.other TH-cam channels have shown.
@@Huey4214 great comment! I don’t know why they didn’t do stainless. That’s an easy one right?
@@advrobwell, it’s benchmade. That pretty much explains it. 😂
@@m.houston6643 😁
All the hardware is stainless steel including the clip. While the clip may be "less stainless" than the blade it is still a stainless steel.
@@JD-uy5js nice! Thanks for the comment 👍
Learn to ride EUC so that you can go anywhere with the boat+EUC combo
I would 100% die on one of those 🤣. They look sooo rad though. Cool way to get from a to b
Great video
Thanks my friend 👊 those are some crazy boats down there 😁
It’s so the price can be raised for the next boat slip customer, the owner pays what was agreed upon but they want more money so you will need to find your own so you pay more than that previous owner. Game of greed
Hamilton released an upgraded version that is a more traditional dive watch with a 43mm case and 300 meters water resistance. It has gotten very good reviews and if you or someone you know deep sea dive it would be awesome if it could be field tested.
I'll definitely check those out, thanks
No AC but doable. CA heat/humidity not so bad offshore unlike Miami etc
Are they moving you to Shoreline? Alamitos has some BS rules and regs, but all Marinas do. I've been in Alamitos now for nearly 8 yrs. The nice thing about the Long Beach Marina's is that they are month to month. So if for some reason you need to off your boat, your not stuck in a year to year contract. Btw, I met you last weekend - I have the Bertram on the end and was taking the pump-out back when we met. Also, If you end up going to shoreline, you will get back to Alamitos very quickly. I am on the waiting list for both a 45 and 50. Been on the list for about 6 months now and have moved up really quickly. You can also try Cabrillo Way. Very nice marina, but it's in San Pedro.
Yeah, they are kicking us out to shoreline. Thankfully it’s a cool slip there, but I would waaaay rather stay. I can’t find anyone to bribe or anything! 🤣🤣 I would LOVE to check out your boat before I go
@@advrob come on down! I’ll be there this weekend!
I will then 👍
LMAO, I just stumbled across your video. I have the 37 Bertram 'Lagertha' out at the end of the dock. I was the guy last weekend that walked by you with the pump-out! Hope all is going well!!
Hahaha that’s awesome! Things are great! We will have to grab some wahoos sometime 😁👍

Sundeck Aft cabin motor yacht with semi displacement hull. Looks to be of decent shape. Watch those teak decks and windows. Fuel tanks are the major concern. I live on sailboat but I miss my motor yacht and I’m saving now for my trawler.
That’s awesome! Thanks for the tips👍
Luckily for me I’m on the Chesapeake Bay and slips are a breeze. Insurance can be an issue depending on size and value of boat. Now most marinas will not allow liveaboards and nobody told me this after i buy a boat.
Yeah, you’d think there would be a little more out there that would make things clearer to the new guys (like me😁👍)
No one cares 🎉
100 meters is crazy ... I heard Hamilton lume isn't amazing either. I would never consider a Hamilton for diving.
Why do you say 40mm is not traditional dive watch size? You only need look at the Rolex Sub which was 40mm for decades and decades and that was a large watch back in the day. Would I like a higher WR rating, yes, but many older Seiko recreational divers were only 150m divers, some were 70m sport divers. Who is going to dive below 100m? Appreciate your perspective.
Yeah, I probably should have said modern instead of traditional.. I’m sticking with the 200m though 😁👍
I own the seiko kinetic gmt tuna sun045. It's build like a tank and the kinetic movement is great. I have it since 2016 and still no need to change the battery. Also it has thick saphire glass.
Love it!
Boring watch, boring brand.
For me, it's my Breitling Avenger SeaWolf. It's the beast in my collection and I love the bright yellow dial.
You can’t go wrong with the seawolf 👌👌👌
I agree with every point you have said. 100m????? WTF!
Diver size = 41-43
Good video. I have a couple of Hammies, including a Below Zero diver. They are great watches, and perfect value for money.
I agree. Great brand, great value, great heritage, and of course great watches. 👍
4:48 your never going 328 feet underwater and that’s only 100 meters…. 😂😂😂
Don't do seasons, don't do bright colours. Don't do trends. Save up a bit more an get a used BB58. Do icons.
I agree with you 💯 but I don't know if the Black bay is considered iconic it's just popular. It hasn't been out long enough. When I think iconic I think Heuer Monaco, Rolex Submariner, Orfina PD. Watches that been around for decades.
