But she had blue eyes, not big dark eyes
I was enthralled with the movie, I did not find that it "droned on" at all.
Fact is that American tv and US Olympic organizers wanted to move the game into prime time and be shown live but the Russians nixed it!
30 years Later, this movie goes down in history as the most infamously terrible film ever made! It’s Beyond Cringe and Woke and Idiotic, Rob Reiner went From a Great Director To Playing “Meathead” on Every One of Us, It should have won a Razzie award! 2:38 and This Quote From Ebert has got to be The Most Iconic Response Ever in History 30 years later! That’s What I call Ripping Apart a Terrible Film!
They were too old to be judging movies meant for the newer generation. Basically they didn't know what they were talking about.
She looked simply AMAZING!
They never Put best actor or something on their if we picked the winners. Also It wasn't Nomiated for Best picture which is strange?
It is a goddamned shame there were only 4 seasons
Jan Smithers was great as Bailey and Jan became famous in 1970 she was a hippie and her photo was on the cover of Time or Life or Newsweek as "The Face of Young America" she became a model from that she was beautiful 10 years before this show started.
Team Bailey 4ever.
I always thought Jan was the hottest! Loni just had the big ones but Jan was the sexy girl next door!
She was so hot
Bailey Quarters was an 11 on a scale of 10.
Baily so hot, blond looks so fake in that hairdo
But how did he get that blonde Ebert? 😂
Well, I don't know about "in television history" but WKRP is my favorite sitcom of the early 80's (and late 70's) and was brilliantly written. Both women were flat out gorgeous.
Now you know why so many men preferred Jan Smithers' Bailey over Loni Anderson's Jennifer on "WKRP" Just the idea of having that happening to you, with her....Mercy!
Bailey, yes!
This was such a great show. It is a cozy show to watch on DVD from time to time.
Jan Smithers was much more attractive in every way than Loni Anderson.
Baily was the hottest thing on TV!
Oh how Siskel got it wrong here....
This is ritual viewing every Christmas...with both eyes.
'Jennifer' could give guys a quick rise in 15 minutes, but 'Bailey' could work things up that would cook for an hour.
I Watch This Movie Every Thanksgiving, That's a Tradition In My Family
R.I.P To John Candy & John Hughes, Still Miss You Both
Steve Martin Is The Best 💯
2:38 My response to the Madame Web movie
Just re-watched this movie and it definitely stands up.
The worst thing is how it insists on itself.
Siskel always wanting something fresh.😂😂😂😂😂😂
I am serious about this. John Candy should have been nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Oscars in 1988.
Roger Ebert didnt know a good movie if it came back and bit him in the ass
You can really tell how much these two respected and loved this movie by how much time they spent going so in depth about the entire process behind making it and all the details that made it come to life, this has to be one of my favorite reviews from them by far.
I always liked this movie for many of the same reasons they did. It's a fun horror picture.
Just watched this again recently and while I do like the movie they have a point about the adults. They act dumber than the teens. I get that might've been what they were going for but it kinda drags the movie's pacing. Wonder if a fan edit could be made with their scenes cut out. It would probably be a lot tighter and not nearly as goofy.
Ah, Bailey….
Roeper (like Siskel) could be such an elitist when he wanted to be.
Jan Smithers married James Brolin before he finally married Barbra Strietsand.
17:12 for Porky's Revenge review 23:22 for Friday the 13th Part 5 review
Best reviews, isn't it?😂
@sleuthentertainment5872 I mean, they're entertaining.
Controversial opinion: Roeper's review is completely understandable from someone who's clearly not a Tolkien fan but still has to express his experience watching it, especially since it was only part one and nobody knew if the trilogy would stick the landing or not.
Now that’s a damn shame when Siskel and Ebert be throwing away a perfectly good movie like that
Richard Roeper is a moron...
“Short but he hustles”. Ouch 😂😂
Just saw the movie today, after seeing clips of it in many other places throughout the years. Had 3, maybe 4 laughs, was constantly amused or thinking "I can see how that'd be funny.". So not a great comedy, very slow, specially near the end, when I though it was wrapping up it went on for 15 more minutes.
The technology in this movie was incredible for the time. Unfortunately I cant see this type of movie ever being made today. My brother and I (he was 11 and I was 10) had to sneak up and watch this.
More than a classic...so real life...the dogs eating the turkey, Ralphie and the F-bomb, the scary Santa, the whiney kid who wouldn't eat...a beloved holiday film to be treasured.
Ebert & Wormtongue
😁
The best thing of this movie is it's not silly like almost all the 80s comedies. Is intelligent, it has a heart, very good developed characters and a sharp point of view of the human being. Aykroyd and Murphy's has a lot of chemistry too
I had to stop watching this after Roeper said that he hates Lawrence of Arabia. That’s foolish.
Roeper was saying LOTR wasn't good enough to be comparable to Lawrence of Arabia.
