The trick is that he is really slow in his second phase; running away and shooting from range was the solution. Walkthroughs and game faqs won't tell you this one simple trick. I played this with the PCSX2 PlayStation 2 emulator, so you'll see some fast saving and loading going on.

I couldn't find out anywhere the full list of instructions for getting Ending D in Beyond Shadowgate. To get Ending D, you must not properly exorcise the spirit in Themeire Manor. You can bury the body in the graveyard, but you mustn't put salt on it. Beyond Shadowgate is the third chapter of the NES Shadowgate series done by the original developers. I think you can get the game in an actual NES cartridge, but the version I played in on Steam. I die a lot in this game. Thankfully, you don't lose anything except a minute or two when you die. Try everything :-)

Mithaniel Marr tasks us with getting the Shards of Fire and Storms from their respective Planes. After a long crawl through various levels of the Plane of Fire, we come at last to Dozekar's Lair, home of an immense red dragon. This video is a compilation of all my attempts at the fight. The Citadel of Pain is a castle at the center of the Plane of Torment in Champions: Return to Arma. Saryrn wasn't at home, unfortunately, but I did have fun with Tormentor, her minotaur pet. First hour in the game, playing as an evil dark elf shadow knight. Champions: Return to Arms for the PlayStation 2 is a sequel to Champions of Norrath, also for the PS2. The first game led the player through the classic EverQuest lands in a quest to defeat the God of Hate, Innoruuk. In this game, the player fights the god of war, Rallos Zek, through the continent of Kunark and the Planes of Power.

If you're on the Ending D path, you can find it in the curio shop. It won't be there in any of the other paths.

@nickvanderpool4822 thank you! So funny, I did this on my first playthrough, stopped and restarted because i thought I was stuck, lol.
I'd argue that ending A (Del sacrificing himself) is more depressing than the bad "The evil succeeds" ending. I mean, at least I feel that way - especially how the last thing Del sees is Colvin; whom carries his body back home 😢
It's a hero's death, and you save the world. I doubt Del survives evil winning.

Meh. Obviously it's meant for fans of the NES aesthetic; it's not for everyone. But I had fun with it 🙂

@@tipadaknife to my understanding, the figure in the mirrors/glass was representing one of the circle of 12. the ingame text refered to him as lakimir. lakimir is mentioned in the very beginning of the original NES (and also macintosh) game. they essentially sent you to the entrance of shadowgate where your adventure also begins. since the raven reacted very negatively to you killing the person (i am so bad with names. sorry) i would assume it was all caused by that unseen new force that was literally never seen or heard from before. the best i got about that is that "strike" the character hears in his mind. i would also guess that this person is the other druid that accompanied you with the raven, but i actually checked the glass/mirror images and it stated that it's a figure you don't recognize (before casting the spell and the ending route unfolding). so, as soon as you cast the spell you are essentially starting to be overtaken. which could also mean that the unseen force is also evil despite wanting to kill the warlock lord. also noteworthy how you actually pick up a skull-like item and combine it with the moon stone. your character essentially gets overtaken by a force, seemingly even stronger than the warlock-lord himself. worst of all is that it's most likely just an honest mistake because you, as the character didn't know what they were doing. it's been a while i played the original game, so please take that with a grain of salt :) also sorry if this is a mess to read. i suck really bad with on-the-spot theory and scripting that in a cohesive manner. thank you for reading.
@@N3Selina Lakmir I knew about. I meant the purple phantom in the mansion that, by not being permanently put to rest, goes on to possess you and bring about Ending D.

Congratulations on getting ending d, now that you have covered all of the endings, can you tell me how you would rank them from worst to best like well for del thornburrow to get and how it affects the world? Also if you encounter the dragon on the turret before freeing it, or on the mountain nest on the top of the mountain, if you attack the dragon will it kill you?

Hey tipdaknife, it’s nice to see a dragon be one of the good guys or heroes you can befriend in this game and not a villain or enemy, though I wonder if you would get killed if you attacked it.
If you free it without giving it treats, it takes you gently in its jaws and hurls you from the castle walls to your death, so...

@@cartoonfan9million468every action with Colvin (the dragon) that doesn't involve tempies (the candy) leads to the same thing of being thrown off the castle tower.
Hey tipadaknife, if you ever get ending D, can you post a video of that too, and can you tell us how you would rank the endings from worst to best?
Sure. I might try for that tomorrow and see if I can get the two hour achievement as well. B-A-C is the current best to worst ranking; I don't know where D falls in there.

Looks fun, a little DIablo-esque? I do have a nostalgia for everquest lore (even though I only started with EQ2). Been playing D4 but the non stop hell, blood, darkness gets old.
That was exactly my problem with D4. Just so grim. I played through D3 a few times because it mixed that all with some hope of salvation. Nothing like that in D4. Yeah, Return to Arms is basically an action RPG. Champions of Norrath wasn't a long game and I don't think Return to Arms would be either (I haven't finished it), but it's cool to see a new perspective on Norrath. Contrast that with EQ Online Adventures, which went a very different way with the same hardware.

To the nostalgia dungeon! On a serious note, it seems to suffer from the design flaws of point-and-click games (gotta guess the answer through trial and error), but it is heartwarming to see a sequel to such an old game. This means *any* game can get a true sequel.
One of the advantages of this game is you have such a small inventory, there really isn't a LOT of guesswork, though I admit I still haven't figured out the farthing monster... but I have ideas....
"Damn it" had me cracking up when he got KO'd. Looks interesting. Liked the art style.

This is being played on an Analogue Pocket. I have it in its dock, and the HDMI output is being piped to a capture card. I use a standard Windows wired gamepad to control it.
Honestly, you got lucky. When I fought Ogrepon, although I wasn't in the post game, it just kept spamming growth. That was literally the only move it used the entire battle.
Growth? It never fought back? Weird!
It sensed how weak you are so it felt bad and just let you win out of pity
It was level 20, and my entire team was in the low to high 30's. I even had a Salazzle.
@@loganbrony130 I think when I entered the DLC, everything seemed like late 50s, so that's what I had. Then I started catching mons from the tera crystals and they came in at 75. I think when I did Ogerpon they were all late 80s early 80s (I guess I should look at the video again). I didn't know the DLC was lower for other trainers. How many gyms had you cleared?
Honestly, I didn't get any main story badges before entering Kitakami. However, I did get the first four badges in the recommended order after realizing I wasn't strong enough to beat Kieran. That's why my Ogrepon, who was a level 20 female by the way, wasn't very strong.

Oh wow, i remember playing this long ago. But I never realized Kemco made this game. I only ever heard of Kemco on those pretty good RPG games on mobile or google play. I know they make pretty good single player traditional rpgs on there that is affordable and pretty good too. But I never knew Kemco made this game or was around this long.

Nice gameplay
Just finished the game myself, needed to see if there was any kind of ending. Bought it when it was on sale, on a simple whim. Turns out to be a fantastic game. The story was pretty cool at the start, but the sudden Deus ex Machina happening in the middle really diluted it. Still, no regrets on this buy.
It was fun for what it was. I'm playing Tactics Ogre Reborn now and it's so much more.

Sure. The solution I used for the puzzle is at github.com/tipa16384/adventofcode/blob/main/2021/monad24.py. The PyGame visualization is at github.com/tipa16384/adventofcode/blob/main/2021/monaddisplay.py. It turns out that most of the program we were asked to execute was just cruft, the actual solution was encoded in the program and basically just needed to be read out. I came here for the ending and dialogues, as a result I skip the uninteresting fight at the beginning and each time I press pause to have time to read the dialogue. Not to mention screenshot sounds

@@tipadaknife seems like they've gotten the starting areas spells and quests knocked out for a few class/race combos but I don't know which and if you're able to level past 2 yet.
@@o-shawnspecific80 When I played, I was able to do combat and level up, but only to the few mobs spawned in the newbie area. I know there was another server with more NPCs and stuff. Just need more time to go back and play some more :-)

Sorry for the late reply. It's the FF encounter on the 99th floor. If you're planning to use the Address Blade, be sure to only fight it if you're in the southeast quadrant for a good damage multiplier.

that's awesome, I just completed the game again today, I still can't get a full 100% clear.
I was leaning pretty heavily on guides to make sure I got the good ending. I was happy to see that recruiting Deneb did NOT stop me from getting the good ending -- some guides said I couldn't get her and make it.
