For those expecting the heavy rock Australian band of the same name you will be sadly disappointed ☹️
Here is an ambient, guitar (GeoShred) heavy sort of ambient noodle.
Features Decent Sampler, Cantoria, Attack Softener, TB reberb, FAC Alteza, Velvet Machine, MixBox, MU Filter and LRC7.

Over on the Loopy Pro Forum, Jim ( soundcloud.com/jwmmakerofmusic ) issued a challenge to create a track with just four channels. Here is my attempt using 4 of my favourite apps I.e. Piano Motifs, Ravenscroft 275, ThumbJam (specifically the Cello) and GeoShred GeoTenorsax. Also uses my go to reverb i.e TB Reverb (Cathedral preset) #geoshred #saxophone #pianomotifs #jazz #piano

A slightly shorter (and different) version of a track I did earlier this week. GeoShred is used to play Naada Bansuri, Naada Viola and Gong Lead put through lots of effects. Piano Motifs plays most of the other instruments. Another copy of GeoShred provides a drone. Indian Drummer provides the percussion. This is my attempt at a Raga and almost certainly bears no resemblance to the real thing 😊...

The beauty of music on an iPad… this was created this morning waiting in the car in the hospital car park 🚑 Particularly pleased with the bass line in this which is ChordJam arping chords generated from a melody input from Piano Motifs and outputting to BeatHawk. The SWAM English Horn also has an airing. #geoshred #pianomotifs

Love the expressive Bassoon, great technique!
I do like a bit of bassoon… while writing this I realised there was a SWAM Contrabassoon (totally forgot it was available)… there’s the next project sorted 😊
Superb 🥰🥰🥰 geoshred is my favourite app for expression 🥰🥰🥰
Many thanks Keith for listening and taking the time to comment. I totally agree, it’s a great app. I will check out the content on your channel asap… do you have any featuring GeoShred ? All the best !
The intro is gorgeous. After the intro it just keeps getting better. It’s too short though
Thanks Joseph 🙏
Ireland...so beautiful!
Yes indeed… thanks for dropping in 👍
@@geotony Have been in Ireland as a Student for half a year. A pitty I did not hike much back then.
@@Buszkraftowski Hi, just checked out your channel. Looks interesting. Big fan of Scotland, try and and go once or twice a year. I have a playlist for the Isle of Mull and the Lofoten Islands if your interested 😊
@@geotony Will check :)
That is simply beautiful
The location helped a lot 🙏
As long as one of the tracks is you playing a GeoShred instrument it is bound to be great. You certainly have a talent, sir.
Very kind of you Mac 🙏 I enjoyed doing this one even though it’s a bit mournful.
Not sure why this popped up on my page but I love this. You should consider making longer 'ambience' videos. Keep up the great work!
That’s very kind of you to say, much appreciated. #138 Lullaby is probably the longest ambient track but the Isle of Mull and Lofoten Island playlist are probably most similar to the Connemara one. All the best 👍
you're a killer geotony.
Thanks Joseph, this more or less popped out inspired by the sound and the scenery. Could have refined it more but it sort of works.
Lovely! The Guitar sound in beautiful and sounds very realistic. I have the RJS guitar too - great pack for Decent Sampler.
Thanks Colin. I’ve used the RJS guitar quite a bit, always on the Old Strings setting. Very nice… and free !
Another good piece you made 👍
Very peaceful but also rather desolate sounding - very atmospheric though
Thanks Colin, 1st and 4th tracks are a bit more upbeat and lively 😊
Peaceful and relaxing music and video 🧘♂🕊. Great work Tony!
Cheers Fernando, hope you enjoyed the others, nice (lucky) shot of some otters at the end of the third one (A tri)
@@geotony Loved them! Just yearned for more on the short ones ☺
Geoshred is way cheaper and the differences are bearable. I just bought all twelve instruments for 99eur. It is a no brainer.
That’s great. My favourites are probably the Sax, Viola and Clarinet. While they are on sale it’s a bargain !
@@geotony Having into account that ALL are SWAM instruments…
Short but sweet!
Thanks Colin… hope the GeoShred Studio stuff is working out OK 👍
@@geotony Thanks. Worked like a dream when I tried it but not had the opportunity to really give it a run as yet.
Love it!!
👍
beautiful sax playing and such a great tone, what is the effect you are using on it? You are getting such great expression without 3D Touch, I find it easier using an old 6s than iPad but you obviously don't need it. Nice one.
Many thanks 👍 Effect is just a bit of reverb from TB Reverb. Never had an iPhone so no idea what the 3D Touch would do for the expression 🤔 I’ve used GS on iPad more or less everyday for the last 4 years so I guess I’m getting used to it. Volume / expression on the y axis just seems natural to me now 😊
Very nice Tony! Wonderful Geoshred performance.
Thanks Fernando, appreciate you taking the time 👍
Another beautiful piece of music. It’s a joy to watch and listen to you play.
🙏… you wouldn’t say that though if you had to sit through all of my attempts to get it right 😊
Wonderful piece of music and great playing!
Cheers Colin. I could have carried on and tried to get a better take but I was happy with the end result. Take it easy !
Lovely. As usual.
Thanks Joseph. It came together in an hour or so. I could have spent more time on it but it sort of felt right. I appreciate you listening and taking the time to comment 🙏
very relaxing
Many thanks for listening and taking the time to comment. I’ve just re listened to it and quite enjoyed it 😊
Thank you very much Joseph… keep well 👌
I love how this piece develops and slowly evolves. And of course you’re geoshredding like a king.
You're killing it!
Many thanks Joseph, hope you’re keeping well 🙏
Wonderful! You are indeed a master of this app! Lovely arrangement and that guitar sound, with the occasional slides is very authentic sounding. I can close my eyes and see someone like Steve Hackett or Dave Gilmour playing something like this whilst "noodling" around.
totally agree
Thanks for the kind words Colin, the guitar is iFretless which has some nice sounds 👌
Contemplative… You are such a maestro on this app.
Many thanks Irena, I’m not sure a maestro would have needed 30 ish attempts to get it right 😊
Impressive as usual. The first section is definitely my favorite
Thanks Joseph, I tend to agree, the second was next and the 3rd was, err, 3rd. Could have tried another version but too many other tracks on the go that need further mangling 😊
Very enjoyable Tony. The gliding violin adds just the right amount of tension with satisfying resolution.
Cheers Fernando. These days I don’t have to hit generate many times on PM before something inspires me… you’ve done a great job 🙏
Thanks Tony, it is very gratifying to hear that you're getting lots of inspiration from PM! It's always a treat to listen to what you can do with the app.
The king of geoshred….
Not sure about King… if you watch Jordan Rudess or some of the Indian musicians (GS is big in India) I think I would settle for a lesser out of favour Baron sort of level 😊 The only thing I do that I can’t find anybody else doing is playing chords with GS. All the videos I can find show monophonic lead playing 🤔
Which is more versatile, naada violin or geoviolin
Hiya, trick question as they have different ‘bonus’ features. Obviously they sound a bit different so that may sway you in a direction. GeoViolin has harmonics (which I quite like) and Naada doesn’t. Naada has pizzicato and double stopping (playing two notes at once) which GeoViolin doesn’t have. Also Naada is a bit easier to play with non MPE controllers although this is perfectly possible with GeoViolin. This one isn’t an issue for me as I use GeoShred 99% of the time. So I guess if we assigned points to these pluses and minuses the you could argue that Naada is more versatile 🤔 Hope that helps 😊
Would like to have heard some of the flutter and attack sounds like Gasparian. Dux never left the pond, I was expecting flight.
Many thanks for the listen and comment… you’re absolutely right of course. I should have used more vibrato and attack. Also thanks for putting me on to Gasparian 👍
So good
👍
Great GeoShredding, as usual! 😄
Full of Eastern promise! Very relaxing too!
Thanks Colin 🙏
More geoshred magic.Still no luck with Decent Sampler for me, i was hoping to get Cubasis 3 soon in hopes in might work there, does not seem to work in Cubasis 2 that i have.
Cheers 👍 I don’t use Cubasis so can’t help but as far as a I know it should be just like any other AUV3 sound source. Happy to try and help if I can !
Wonderful atmosphere, as usual. I have images of sitting on a sandy/rocky mountain, overlooking dust clouds coming up from a road winding it's way through the mountains as a buss full of tourists drives over it.... that might be a movie reference by the way ;-).
Many thanks, great that it took you somewhere in your imagination , closest movie I can think of to this is the Italian Job 🤨
@@geotony The movie I had in mind was Babel from 2006 🍿
@@cherrymountains72 Missed that one 😕
Still going strong I see. Still pumping out those wonderful and serene tracks. Very calming.
I’ll keep pumping them out while you keep listening … deal ?
@@geotony Hahaha. Deal. 😅
Serene, subtle, gentle. I really enjoyed it.
Thank you Joseph
Yes after much more work simply cannot get Geoshred to see the Decent Sampler in it’s Midi settings.
Hiya. So you have Decent Sampler installed. The RJS Guitar is on PianoBook.co.uk which has loads of free Decent Sampler instruments on it as well as those found on the Decent Sampler web site via the app. Re connecting the apps are you using a DAW such as AUM, Logic, Cubasis etc to host the apps. I use AUM all the time and in this case you just load Ds in an instrument slot, GS in a MIDI slot and then connect them as usual. let me know if it is something different than this and as can investigate. all the best.
@@geotony thanks, i will check it out this week for sure, checked out one of your collaboration tracks and commented with my other profile, ‘jeff fox guitar’, really great stuff. You are the best geoshred artist i have heard by far.
@@geotony still haven’t tried your method yet, i found that guitar sample online, how do you put that into an ipad?Just download it straight to ipad? Thanks again.
@@galarius Yes just click on the download button on the Piano Book web site. If there is a choice that just says Decent Sampler then use that one. If it only has an option for e.g. Kontact and Decent Sampler then use that. This will download a zip file to your Download folder. In the case of the RJS Guitar it is a Kontact / DS zip file so there is an additional step to do that you don’t need if it just DS. I.e. Navigate to the downloaded zip file in the Files app and just tap it. This will create a folder called, in this case, RJS Guitar Pianobook Package. This will contain a zip file that has.. (DS).. in the name. Then in Decent Sampler, from the top right menu do File and then Load. Navigate to the ..(DS).. zip file that is in the RJS Guitar Pianobook Package folder and open it. Decent Sampler should now unzip it and load the samples.
@@geotony awesome, thanks…..Will get back to you about my first effort to use in Cubasis, didn’t work so far.May have to get Cubasis 3 as i still have Cubasis 2.
Yeah, could not get this to work, Geoshred doesn’t seem to ‘see’ the Decemt Sampler at all….I have used Geoshred for about 8 years and am very familiar with controlling other synths with it.
I see, turn MPE on in instrument settings, getting ready to try that
I got the Decent Sampler but there is no choice for ‘midi in’ innit’s settings, only ‘midi out’…How donyou get Geoshred to control the Decent Sampler unit?
Wow, what sound module is that for the guitar? It sounds incredible!Decent Sampler?
Nice and peaceful!
Cheers Colin, not many nice beaches along the Irwell unfortunately although I did see a Kingfisher fly up past the Mark Addy years ago…
Majestic sounds and a beautiful view.
Many thanks MoW, I can only claim credit for the sounds 😊
May I know why you are using Geoshred to play IFretless Guitar instead of playing it directly please share your thoughts behind it. it would helpful.
No problem… I’ve been playing GeoShred for almost 5 years now so I’ve built up a bit of muscle memory re finger placement etc and I am very familiar with the playing surface. While iFretless is very similar it is sufficiently different to make it (for me) more difficult to play and I would rather stick with one method of playing so I prefer to continue with GeoShred. This doesn’t mean to say there is anything wrong with iFretless 😊
Beautiful
Thanks for the listen and comment 👍
Lovely guitar sound and nice chordal harmonies - very convincing. Sounds like a real guitarist would play it..
Thanks Colin, ‘real guitarist’ is as good as it gets as a compliment… much appreciated 🙏
Balls
Absolutely!
That is indeed a lot of balls! But very relaxing. Now you already tried a piece with including every note on a guitar fretboard, are you trying to include every ball-based app? 😄
Yes indeed although I also have Senode and NodeBeat which are quite spherical but too much for my little grey cells 🤔
