Vidiwalks

I am hoping that you can subscribe to my channel and come join me on various walks and visits across interesting locations.
To start, I will be mainly uploading walks around Southampton and Hampshire, with a view to adding more locations as time goes by. In addition, I will be filming at different times of the year and day, to capture our amazing seasons and the atmosphere of the different times of the day.
I welcome any feedback and comments, in addition to suggestions of locations & times of possible future walks. This is a learning journey, so I am hoping to improve my filming and editing techniques (I’m no professional!) as we go along - genuinely welcoming any feedback and suggestions.
Please check out out my social media links for my photography work.

Highfield Common & University Southampton SO
มุมมอง 160ปีที่แล้ว
A relaxing walk from the cute ducks at the lake on the Common, into the Highfield part of the city, ending up at the Southampton University Campus long Burgess Road. I filmed this on a Sony RXO, without a gimbal, so the footage is a lot more ‘handheld’ looking than my usual videos. I have added a few backing tracks to this video all the way through for a change. Thanks for viewing! #walking #so...

Drive through Winsford, Cheshire: Over to Town Centre WI
มุมมอง 2.1Kปีที่แล้ว
A short drive around the Over area in the town of Winsford. Having had a long break away from last seeing the place, I thought I’d capture a drive around, noting how much had actually changed since my last visit. A departure from my usual walking videos, I gave a drive around video a try. I have added some background music to this video, as unlike walking vids, which capture all the environment...
Walk though Southampton - Guildhall to Stadium, via St Mary’s & Golden Grove
มุมมอง 3.6Kปีที่แล้ว
A walk through Southampton via one of the more higher crime areas of the city - St Mary’s & Golden Grove. Within the city, statistically there are more robberies & street crime in the parks & St Mary’s, especially Hogland’s Park onwards. This area has some fantastic venues and people, all adding to a certain unique vibe. Starting at Guildhall Square, through the city centre parks, Hogland’s Ska...

Starts on the top floor and finishes on the ground floor, covering most of the main exhibits. It’s not a long video and does not pause much on the exhibits; just gives you a flavour of the place in a short space of time. Filmed with DJI Osmo Pocket 2 in HD. #TFL #transportforlondo...

Southampton Walk on a Sunny Winter Morning SO
That whole area is mostly a rat-hole now. Past 25 years has seen it all fall to ruin, mostly. Gosport Lad myself, & large parts of this area has followed suit tbh. Crappy councils driving the places into the ground.
Great to see that Romsey, the town where I grew up 40 years ago, still has a thriving high-street and plenty of hustle and bustle. Looks even better than I remember. It even still has an independently owned department store - Bradbeers.
if you play it at double speed then everyone looks hard as fuck
NEVER BEEN TO ROMSEY,NICE PLACE,
v helpful video when scouting locations for moving thank you
Done this many times
I love Brits ❤
Great walk. I used to live in Barnsley, love to see another small town outside of London. Things have become more expensive lately haven't they? Loving the video and subscribed!
Thanks.👍🏻 Things certainly have become more expensive! Really glad you like the vid. I’m hoping to get back out and about soon, including more of the lesser known towns.
Lived here in the 60s, back then it was a large village, only small grocery store on Salisbury road opposite the shoe cobbler next to nutsey lane. Baker on water lane, hardware shop in town centre. Today i don't recognise totton at all anymore, looks like a run down town for unemployed, shops cater for low income etc,.thank God i moved on in life, as im sure many didn't.😢 Only place i recognised was the old Catholic church, it still stands.🙏🏻
Thanks for your comment.👍🏻 Yes, Totton has definitely seen better days- like many a small town in the UK I suppose. Likely thanks to the advent of internet/home delivery, which is a bit sad really.
Wow so beautiful
Thank you.
Give me a shout if you want mate next time you’re up in sunny Winsford, I’ll buy you a coffee 👍
That would be great. I shall make a point of giving you a shout when I’m next up👍🏻.
I was hoping I'd see that Guy/kid that keeps hanging around on his bike and being a public menace in the presinct sadly no. However you did walk past my house, which was scary to see!
I certainly didn’t see anyone like that on my walk, however, I shall keep my eyes out on any future visits. I hope you liked the vid?
@@Peeteyboy Oh I loved the video! I got nervous when you walked past my house, but only because I didn't want to be seen doing something weird in my kitchen lol. Other than that I 100% loved it
Great video from my old home village, born in 1960 moved away now, Totton has changed and not in my opinion for the better, just a thought if you do another one might it not be a good idea to freeze frame certain shots and show that spot from say 50 years ago, other than thanks many thanks.
❤❤❤❤
Thanks👍🏻
Nice walk I not been in Southampton
Thanks👍🏻. It’s not a bad place these days - lots of reinvestment, due to big cruise industry.
Great concept! Can you please make a walking tour of Hythe? Or from Southampton to Hythe via the Ferry?😊
Thanks for watching and your comment. Im hoping to get out a bit more and to branch out of the city. Yes, Ill add those to my list.🙂
My university
Great Uni👍🏻
Want to see common park
Thanks for watching. Check out my other videos. I have one at the Common and other covering the city centre parks.
Cool city
More of a trip down memory Lane for myself. Unfortunately, I uploaded to TH-cam in 720p, so the vid is not quite as good quality as it could have been!
St Marys isn't a dangerous, stop exaggerating for the vid
I like St Mary’s and the place has great character, attractions, people & venues. However, it is a high crime area for Hampshire, Southampton & the national average, therefore is statistically more dangerous, especially for robbery/violence and the like. Plus, the place has always been very run down, although the regeneration efforts have massively improved the place overall. But hey, we are all entitled to our opinions🙂.
Admittedly it was not too bad when I walked through the area, however I don’t know whether I’d be brave enough to venture into the area with a camera during the evening!
This area which you pass throw mostly liveng Asian mix community.wich calling golden grow ...🤷
The way the film is captured is fantastic Thambikkottai balu India
That’s very kind of you to say, thank you.
Apologies for the wind noise. I forgot to add my wind mic, so have tried to edit it out as best I could - hence the quiet background music near to the end.
Apologies for the speed of the scenes! It was a quick video just to give a flavor of what’s on offer, especially if you are thinking about going. It’s a great place for any transport/history fans and the ticket price covers entry for a full year. I’m hoping to do a slower more thorough video with descriptions at some point.
196 steps felt more like 1096 steps! 🥵I don’t advise anyone to use the stairways on the tube unless they of reasonable fitness! That being said, it was interesting and gives you an appreciation of how deep these tunnels are. Apologies that I didn’t get the exit shot, I’ll aim for a better video next time.
Background music added on this vid for a change. Actually, I had a right drama with the wind sound on the mic during this walk, so had to reduce the audio and add the music track.
A play with the editing and some of my still images.
