MoonLander - Roof V2 from RADICA

Introducing Roof V2 for MoonLander! A single piece polypropylene honeycomb panel. This refreshed design brings a 50% weight savings on the roof, setting the new standard in durability and efficiency. Crafted with advanced weather-resistant materials to be UV stable, it ensures lasting protection against the elements. At 1.25" thick and thousands of air pockets, this material is strong enough to...
I'm no camping pro by any means, but having the option of D-rings or hooks across the roof and walls in side for lightweight items or drying hooks for gear would be killer for fishing, hunting, or even hiking. To keep it light and cheap, you could make an optional beam or side rail for those who could find it useful.
I like that there is a camper option for my F150 that doesn't cause it to be overweight. I looked into Scout and Outpost, but both would end up exceeding my truck's 1600# payload capacity, especially when you add people, food, water and gear.
Simple is better! Glad you found us.
Great Info Fred! 💯Keep the videos coming. Coach Tony
Thank you! Plenty more to come. Stay tuned.
I am 6' 6" and can attest to having adequate space to sleep.
Nice. I's all you need. 👍
Can these be shipped to Michigan?
Unfortunately, not at the moment. We currently have vendor shops in Wilmington, NC, and Portland, OR. However, we’re always looking to expand, and hopefully, we’ll have locations across the country in the future!
Looks great! It's great to see Truck Shells "taking off". Bob Wells interviewed some truck-shell guys years ago... my, how far they've come :)
Consider offering a polyiso spray-in bedliner, before mounting the camper, in order for a pickup bed to handle the stresses of the camper. Some pickup beds are made so flimsy that cabover toppers will pop the welds in the bed. The polyiso will glue the inside of the truck bed to make it stronger and more rigid.
Have you built an x for an 8ft full size?
We sure have! We just installed an MLX on a F450 with an 8 foot bed earlier this week.
@radicaproducts just trying to wrap my head around the finished cost. Looking for something similar to travel key west to prudoe bay.
A way to have a horizontal support at the same level as the cab over section, so you can safely transport longer objects, while still having the bed platform clear. Surfboards, or even on longer units a little lumber, etc.
I’ve been thinking about the same thing on my future build.
would love to see it with some dirt bikes in there. been stuck with a soft topper due to needing to haul bikes and not wanting to have to have a hitch mount stand or trailer.
You can definitely fit most dirbikes in both MoonLander and MoonLander X. I'll be sure to add this idea to our list for future content ideas!
@@radicaproducts amazing to hear they can in both.
THIS!!! Fuckin finally something to turn a small pickup into a toy hauler / van. Now i just gotta find like $10,000 laying around!
We now are offering financing. Email us at info@radicaproducts.com and we'll share the process of signing up with you.
making me wish i had a truck with this
We'll be here once you get your truck!
Can’t stand?
How much ? I love it
Check out our website www.radicaproducts.com for all pricing! Email info@radicaproducts.com for any questions you may have.
Is there a full barn door (remove the tailgate) option? Please...
if you made it taller so we can stand up, and the over compartment area a sleeping area instead f jut storage, it would be perfect.
We will take this into consideration. Thank you for you feedback!
Mirrors need to be upgraded
What makes you say that?
Kewl Video 😅 Merry Christmas 🎁 & Happy Holidays Guys. Coach Tony
Merry Christmas!
We can get full size rather than queen size bed panels for the MLX though right? We need a little space between the bed and the very back of the 6 foot truck bed when its all closed up.
Absolutely. Our full size bed panels come standard.
Ford Maverick hybrid?
We defintely will build for the Ford Maverick.
Brilliant design! Add a bit more height and light weight 'versatile cubes' stored behind the netting/swapped out for the bedding in Stow Mode. Cubes used for table, cooker, water, storage, etc.
Stay tuned!
Can i get a Winter insulated Topper? I live in Pennsylvania
We do offer insulation! Email info@radicaproducts.com if you'd like to further discuss pricing!
Approx weight?
This specific MLX is around 415lbs
What's the MPG difference of a tundra with the model X?
Does the Moon Lander X come with the mattress??
It does not, but we do sell our reccomended brand at our factory here in Denver Colorado. Email us at info@radicaproducts.com for any questions!
I want a regular Moonlander but with the roof height of the Moonlander X. Roof height of the regular Moonlander is the only thing stopping me from buying one today. Both look great though...
Now this is perfect! If your inside ,can you open the back from the inside? What is the shell made from?
Thank you! Yes you can open from the inside. The shell is made up of 1/16th" aluminum, the framing is 1/8th" square tubing, and the roof is 1 1/4" polypropylene honeycomb.
I've always liked these style campers, but the problem with this one is that the very thing that makes it unique also makes it look like azz.
I bet 10k or more probably
Love it. But as one living in the south where even the nights are unbearably hot and humid, an AC option is a must.
How big of a hit do you take on MPG? Do you ship or where would I need to pick it up?
Expect a 2-3 hit on your MPG. You'll have to get it installed by either us in Denver Colorado, or either of our vendor shops on the West and East coast. Email info@radicaproducts.com for any questions.
Does that include the headliner for 2K?
Is that a slim pod or the wider pod?
That's the full side pod extensions.
hard side slide-up camper shell similar to the the ''alaskan''
What about insulation and heater and vent fans led lighting
We offer all insualtion, vent vans, and the LED lighting. We are working on offering heat in the near future. Check out our website for more details.
Looks amazing!
Is it akward closing everything up to go to sleep at night? Reaching down pulling your tail gate up and trying to pull down the moonlander door. I would like to see videos of it closed up or half closed, like just the tail gate. I assume the moon lander can be opened from the inside?
...and also some commented about swing doors/ barn doors. I like that idea too but afraid of a strong wind taking the door away. Question, with the side of the pod extended out like it is, is there a way to latch down these swing doors so that don't go flying in the wind
Can you get these with heaters?
We are working on getting a Truma heating system within the next month.
I almost like it If the overhead was big enough for me to sleep in i would love this
Sometime in the future this is something we'd like to offer.
Would love to know what kind fuel economy impact it has?
You can expect a 2-3 hit on your MPG
🎉🎉🎉🎉
Finally!
Great design
If ya can’t tell us the Price then we’re probably wasting our time watching this video! It’s a shame ya have to shell out 8-18k for a fiberglass shell!
Some people aren't prepared to pay for quality. Also, none of this is fiberglass. MoonLander is constructed from alumnium and the roof is a polypropylene honeycomb.
Okay. This pisses me off! Now I want to abandon my AWD Chevy van and get a tundra with a moon lander. Is there a pass through from the cab? Maybe I don’t want to go outside to get inside.
We will be here when you're ready. We offer a removeable cabside window that is hinged from the bottom. Definitely would be a tight squeeze, but you can make it happen in a pickle.
Are there barn doors that go down to the floor of the truck bed? Do you provide materials to “seal” the camper area from dust? Is there insulation kits available for the camper, and the bed of the truck?
Radica customer here (no.301): No barn doors to floor. Swing-up back door has a seal underneath that wedges to the top of your tailgate. From there you need to buy one of those tailgate seals to keep the dust out; the moonlander door does a good job for its area, but you still need to seal the tailgate perimeter itself.
This appears well designed and constructed. Once inside I wonder what it takes to raise the tailgate and lower the door.
What kind of mattress do you use
We use a dually Hest queen mattress.
Any positive pressure air vents to prevent dust intrusion?
