The Hawaii United Okinawa Association (HUOA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to promote, perpetuate, and preserve the Okinawan culture here in Hawaii. It is a huge part of the Hawaii Okinawan community and allows its members to learn about the culture through various educators and practitioners, a central meeting place to share experiences, and a way to connect with the Okinawan government, organizations, and its people. Running an active organization and a meeting place like the Hawaii United Okinawa Center comes with a significant expense. None of it is possible without the generous donations from our members and supporters.

Omedeto Gozaimasu Sensei!
My Great Great Grandfather Paul Agena was one of those 7 men who went to go help the pigs. currently im trying to do a History presentation on my family history. I found this very informative

My mother was from Okinawa. I miss watching her dance and the food. Watching this makes me feel home. I want to go someday and learn from all of you. My daughter now dances but Japanese dance. I wish I had learned some of her dances. I am trying to save up money to send my daughter to Hawaii to learn all she can and bring it back home.
Thanks for posting over one year later... (sarcasm)
Congratulations on putting on such a wonderful festival. The Japanese festivals in Los Angeles pale in comparison to the Okinawan Festival. I always coordinate my Hawaii vacation with the Festival. It’s the highlight of my time on Oahu . See you in 2025!!!😂😂😂
Congratulation to all hawaiian uchinanchu people! Amazing festival 👏👏👏👏👏

[KOREAN TV SHOW <Maybe I’ll go again>] Request for cooperation. Hello :) This is a travel program directing team broadcasting in Korea. We aim to give satisfaction to many travelers who are restricted from traveling abroad due to the COVID-19 situation with great videos. In preparing for the Okinawa episode this time, I have a request to show the traditional dance of Japan. Only part of your video will be used, and it helps viewers to understand. Could you please allow us to use your TH-cam channel’s videos on our broadcast screen along with the source?

I agree, it's very important to support local businesses! I retired on Okinawa 3 years ago and try to do the same, We have many local family run and owned businesses of all types we support here. Also thanks for promoting Okinawa businesses in Hawaii! Don't forget, we have the Uchinanchu festival this month in Okinawa. This is held every 5 years and celebrates Okinawa people and culture around the world. Everyone is welcome, the festival ends on November 3rd!!
That's how the Hongwanji Mission School (and other schools) Luau was ...totally volunteer!
Lindas, bátians! Vida longa, saúde e alegria! Ia sassa!
A fantastic event but I fear over commercialization and the culture gets over looked. Lot of "Okinawan like" products being sold. ... but that's just me....Keep up the hard work and bring this event to the world!
Moon beach hotel is my fabulous. Was there in October 1985. My mom use to teach okinawan dance.
My mama was from Okinawa. I hope to be able to go to Hawaii to have some okinawan food again.
I loved it when Denise says, "I am Sansei, one hundred percent half-Okinawan." That cracked me up!
