The History of the Crisis: The Ralliement (part 2)
In this second part of my presentation on the 'Ralliement' policy of Pope Leo XIII in 1891, I examine the implementation, reactions and fruits of this policy before offering an assessment of its implications.
The Ralliement policy is considered as part of the preamble to the current Crisis in the Church, as one of the compromises made with the enemies of the Church.

Popes cannot chose kings or presidents. Christ idid not give popes that authority. What you claim would be a Theocracy with the Pope on top of the King or Presidents. Gay! *The Old Testament High Priests did not choose the Israelite Kngs.* You Catholic men lust after power... and you personally identify with the clergy... so you imagine that clergy are the boss of government officials. False! *You even admit the popes are not the bosses of kings.* After you previously claimed the popes were the bosses of kings and presidents. Kings can, and do, say NO to popes. The only power that popes and bishops have is the power of moral persuasian. The pope, who invalidated Queen Elizabeth, was impotent. His declaration did nothing but get Catholics hanged. Some kings can block the election of a pope. And the pope did not appoint the Carolingian Kings. They had already been ruling France for generations and everyone knew it. The pope simply blessed the Carolignian Kings plan to take the French Crown by force.

I gave two examples of popes deposing monarchs. The Pope can also establish monarchies as they did with the Kingdoms of Hungary and Poland. The liturgy of the common of popes quotes the Old Testament: "I have set thee over nations and over kingdoms..." This is the hierarchical dyarchy of the Two Swords doctrine. See St Bernard's commentary. St Peter draws his sword in the garden. Our Lord rebukes him but confirms that it is is his sword. Ordinarily the spiritual power is not to interfere in the temporal sphere but to supervise it.

    • @francikoen
      @francikoen วันที่ผ่านมา

@@thetwocitiespodcast And you should know that monarchs have blocked papal elections. Frederick II in 1241 and Joseph II in 1769. So they are even... and you are in denial. The 2 swords theory is the clergymen's lust for power over the temporal authorities. You identify with the clergy, so you incorrectly tell your audience that popes are the bosses of kings. False. St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Augustine both wrote some gross, foolish errors. So I don't give a damn about St. Bernands lust for secular power. The 2 sword theory is just *a theological theory; nothing more.* It is NOT Catholic dogma. It's a clergyman's wet dream. At times, the temporal sphere corrects and supervises the ecclesiastical power. So they are even. They have different spheres of authority, which sometimes overlap and sometimes conflict, especially with taxes. But the only power the ecclessiastics have is the secular power is their *power of pursuasion.* And their reputations have been shot through, due to their many abuses over the centuries, continuing to this week. So their power of pursuasion is quite weak. In fact, sometimes the temporal sphere imprisions corrupt, criminal clergy... and rightly so. The Papal States were a gift from the King of France. Then Italy took away the Papal States... and rightly so. In both cases, the secular authorities had more power than the spiritual authorities... and acted to protect them and correct them. The popes were unjustly dividing Italy and had been too greedy for too many centuries.

@@thetwocitiespodcast You are indulging in fantasy regarding the Carolingian Kings of France. The Carolingian King deposed the last Marovingian king, using his temporal power, with the blessing of the pope, because the Carolignians had been the real rulers for many generations. The pope blessed the plans. But the pope did NOT do the deposing of the Marovingian King. That was accomplished by the secular authorities. You are exaggerating because of your lust for power and your identification with the clergy. You pretend popes are magic... because popes did NOT establish kingdoms in Hunary and Poland. They gave their blessings. The fighting men established those two kingdoms. Your lust for power leads you to fictional fantasies. Popes and Bishops are not the bosses nor supervisors of kings and dukes. You WISH!

@@francikoen Leaving aside your silly ad hominem and straw man arguments I would suggest that you read Boniface VIII's Unam Sanctam: "One sword ought to be subordinated to the other and temporal authority, subjected to spiritual power. For since the Apostle said: ‘There is no power except from God and the things that are, are ordained of God‘ [Rom 13:1-2], but they would not be ordained if one sword were not subordinated to the other and if the inferior one, as it were, were not led upwards by the other. For with truth as our witness, it belongs to spiritual power to establish the terrestrial power and to pass judgement if it has not been good."

@@thetwocitiespodcast Leaving aside your impotent ad hominem attacks; I suggest you get over your silly lust for power. Popes are NOT the bosses of Kings. I would suggest you read Jesus Christ's own words... except you don't understand Jesus Christ's own words. You misinterpret Bible verses because of your lust for power. It is your personal sicknesss. That same sickness that caused the Eastern Orthdox Schism and the Protestant Reformation... the Catholic clerical lust for power. And the vain laity who kiss their asses. You abuse the papal bull to pump up your flaccid male ego. I have already read that bull. It does NOT say that popes are bosses of kings. But they can excommunicate a monarch IF they have a just reason. Just too many popes and bishops abused their power of pursuasion, so now no one respects them. So they have mostly lost their power of pursuasion... and rightly so. They are passive-aggressive Democrat Party operatives. I'll bet you $10.00 that you defend the perverted priest who played with the girl's long hair and held up her long hair to show the entire classroom; aand talked on and on about her beautiful long hair. Then he encouraged teenargers to bruth their teeth with hair. The secular authorities are supervising and correcting that perverted priest. That priest has a hair fetish. That priest has zero authority over any secular authority. You lust after power that lives only in your fantasies.

GREAT SHOW! This past Presidential election demonstrated how much Traditional Catholics feel compelled to rally around Trump even though he repudiated every Catholic aspect of Christian marriage and the foundation for the Rights of the unborn. Trump went out of his way to get the Catholic vote and Catholic political influencers gave it to him with asking for nothing in return because of his being this bogus "lesser of two evils". Catholics in America have taken Pope Leo XIII's encyclical to the American Bishops to heart without his warning to secure our rights.

I was just dealing with this tension during the American elections. Even among all the Trads, I was very much an outlier in determining that I wasn’t going to participate in supporting Trump as the “lesser of two evils”… After having listened to your channel and Dr Deep State for several years, as well as several other similar channels and reading many books, I detached from the whole election drama. There was a fair amount of gaslighting from even Traditional clergy still arguing that not voting is a grave sin, but my conscience on the matter is clear. I’ll pray for Trump, he didn’t need my vote or consent. I had already figured the powers that be wanted him to win to further their agenda, and I’m not looking forward to 4 years of Trump like most of my fellow parishioners.

It is very dodgy to quote Bishop Williamson. The choice of him as a bishop was questioned back in 1988 because of his contrariness and always taking the most extreme position in a process of self validation and validation towards his folliwers. He didn't join the SSPX it joined him and once he got what he wanted he moved out.

Invaluable analysis and commentary. An act of heroic virtue and, therefore, extremely rare. Thank you and Deo gratias. It has come to my attention that the admonition to vote Trump was held over the laity under pain of mortal sin by many of the clergy of the SSPX. It is frighteningly clear to me that no one has, as yet, given the grave import of this declaration, the pushback necessity dictates. This is not good. Indeed, it is evil, and that’s a serious concern. These good men, many of whom are holy, are shepherds, dispensing moral guidance to parents and their children. It would be a terrible mistake to extend any mercy in calling this out, unequivocally, and demanding formal redress. Mortal sin is a definitive that leaves no room for polemical shucking and jiving, theological or otherwise. It's the worst example, too, of precisely why the Church should stay out of politics. Shame on them and on us all. As if we didn't have enough to deal with. It's enough to make any faithful and lucid Catholic very angry and disappointed, which is likely the aim of the spirit that animates, in this matter particularly. Pray, reason for yourself, interrogate everything, and as the head, keep the heart of your home, very close.

The main issue is the confusion. God is not the author of confusion. The pope is confusing a lot of Catholics. But the position isn’t to say “he’s not a real pope” . I see it the same way for a wife submitting to her husband. If her husband is disobedient towards God, it doesn’t mean the wife just leaves him. She wins him over with the conduct of her character. But it also doesn’t mean she follows him into error. We don’t just get to pick and choose who our pope is except through prayer. We do what we’re told to do and obey and stick to where the bishop is because that’s what we’re told to do. You can still remain fast and faithful to the tradition of the church and not follow the path of modernism. And we simply don’t know how God is working right now. We could be under chastisement. Maybe he changes the pope’s heart. Just play your role as a faithful Catholic and be devout and don’t follow into error.

Democracy, that great sleight of hand. Transition of power to the unGodly under the guise of power to the people. Great Catholic Monarch God Speed take France back to AMDG+ And then Europa entirely+

To me it boils down to one fundamental question; can the Church, the bride of Christ, led by the holy father, the successor of Peter, lead millions of souls to hell. The answer to this question should determine where one settles on this debate.

Some interesting tidbits but overall a surprisingly shallow and PC retelling-virtually indistinguishable from the mainstream normiecon framing that’s become so ubiquitous over the decades. Maybe Fox Nation might like to buy the rights to it, lol.

Excellent diacussion. Restore intermediary authorities like families, extended families, voluntary associations, religious guilds, confraternities, cathedral and parish trades. Combine these natural and Catholic elements with the monasteries and self-sufficient homesteads = flourishing. It's still possible if utility is secondary to piety and friendship.

One of my favourite outros you have done is the one with Rachel Fulton Brown, with Golden Brown at the end. People who are not genuine can't do such things, art that is.

Don’t trust anyone who doesn’t mention the real enemy Either they are fools (can’t help even if they want) or serve the enemy directly (operatives) The enemy is and always been the killers of the Lord and the offspring of satan
