It’s a slum. The streets are filthy, rubbish and public bins are rarely emptied. Dog crap everywhere. The public footpaths and roads are crumbling away. Streetlights don’t work. All of the local banks including RBS, TSB and Clydesdale have all been closed down in Cambuslang. Traffic Wardens have choked the few remaining businesses on the Main Street to death, nobody can park in the limited spaces available and they won’t risk getting a ticket. There’s no public spending or investment, the place has literally been left to rot. It’s getting worse every year as well. Its not just the main street either, all of the surrounding areas are in the same state. We live less than a mile up the road from here, and pay £161 a month in council tax to live in an area like this?? It’s embarrassing. The local authorities ought to be ashamed of themselves.
I was born and brought up in cambuslang, it was a dump before new redevelopment and now it’s worse. The place is a shithole. I was a great idea to close the tunnel and turn the dual carriageway into a death trap, crossing the road is a nightmare. I’ve been away from cumslang for 25yrs and you couldn’t pay to move back there.
Parking is absolutely terrible, wardens are on you in a heartbeat ... Cant park next to shops because there is never a space , cant stay long at the towers parking , the parking for train st always full , it just puts everyone off... Its the whole reason shops lost passing trade .
