Everyone is entitled to live their truth. Most Americans are very tolerant of the LBTGQ community. However, they don't like it when gay people bully people who don't agree with their lifestyle for religious reasons, or they politicize their sexuality.

Thank you for sharing their story. I'll soon be 58 and this provides hope for many of us mature members of the community.

This video makes it look as if Ishtar is the only gay oriented clinic in Kenya.There are at least eight health centers in Nairobi,the capital alone

I'm 68 and have always known older gay couples in 1960. A friend just passed he was 96

I'm glad that slowly, often painfully slowly, the stories are getting told and history is being unpacked. I am not quite as old as these gentlemen. I am only 67. I am a mixed race man who came out mid-teens back in the 70s. For my high school years I was in the Syracuse NY area, and then after that in the NYC area until moving to San Francisco at the end of 83 at age 26. From the first moments I hit the bars/streets around age15-16 there were plenty of Black gay folks of all ages around. Now if some were seniors back in ~73-74 then they'd been around in the 50s and 60s as well. Sure, folks of all races weren't necessarily "out" in the same way some folks are today. But they were there, and in numbers. NYC has a vibrant Black queer history that boomed in the 20s during the Harlem Renaissance. And well before that. We've always been here. So, I dismiss this misinformed business of "that's all new", "only a white thing", or the tortured comments of "what's happening to our men *today*?". Nope. Not having it one bit. We've been there all along.

ABSOLUTELY HEAVENLY! THEY ARE A DIVINE COUPLE. These 🖤 black gay kings have spanned the shores of span and time. Do people know how long they have survived and the powers that they have acquired from the struggles of fighting homophobia from within and without. They are PERFECT EXAMPLES for our young black gay men and matured black gay men that there is no greater sense of ✌️ peace of mind and heart than: " To Thine Own Self Be True". Thank you for this timely clip. Similar, recently I tried to explain to a younger brother on his channel that "looks are not everything". And the most difficult thing gay men to accept is the lost of innocence & aging. Getting old. Rather than focusing on "looks", invest / prepare now for a future that will be rewarded in good health & longevity, stable fiances & peace of mind. I got insults in return. Peace

Thank you for sharing. I APPLAUD all young black gay men who are courageous enough to come out and live in their truth as Black GAY Men. However, as a 58 year old black gay man(Who supports your channel) I have found that about 99% of black bisexual males pass for straight. They only want to jump over to the gay side when they have had a bad experience with a female. That's why I don't watch or support the BAD BOYS CLUB because all the majority on their don't identify solely as gay. Everybody wants to benefit from the struggle of black gay men, but don't want to identify as GAY SOLELY. I'M A PROUD BLACK GAY MAN. Thank you!!!😅

I remember watching this on DVD years ago. Loved this movie and that it shows a different side of African American History.

I had the pleasure of watching this series. I didn’t know that this actually existed. One of the things that surprised me was that the light skinned blacks had darker skin blacks working for them. It was a form of privilege being lighter. The is an awesome story. I wished I still owned my copy of it.
