Just found your channel and enjoyed your content. Sound was a little low, just turned my TV up a little. Some nice finds Shown , I am a big Grateful Dead fan and would recommend any of their live albums. One comment I would make is, it should be vinyl and not vinyls. Anyway, keep the uploads coming.
Glad you enjoyed, I’m not sure at what point you think I said “vinyls” I’ve never said that in my life 😂. Thanks for the feedback on the volume I’ll make efforts to rectify that. Yes, I’m familiar with the grateful dead and their live content, I’ve a few of their LP’s!
I've come close to getting that " Ann Peebles " record you showed only to be thwarted by other bidders. Bob Marley Is close to my heart as well, when I need a chill-out session i play his " Natural Mystic " compilation on C.D. I liked the recent " Tuff Gong " re-issues as well. " BlackStar ' was a terrific goodbye gift to his fans from Bowie. What an Enigma! he was. Nice job with the Tag Damon.
Damon man I really appreciate the shout out thank man I really dig you collection. That Velvet Underground OG is one I’m going to look for this year and also Roy Brooks Free Slave definitely one of the best on Muse label I have a Scorpio press. I agree with you on Exodus the UHQR is killer you OG is a beautiful copy I enjoyed your Vinyl Tag my friend take care. Lovellandrew
A lot of American kids growing in the 1980s knew who Emily Bindiger was, not because of that album but because she starred in an American children's TV series called The Great Space Coaster. Even I remembered her (I was 8 when the TV series premiered at the beginning of 1981), but it wasn't until many years later I discovered she recorded this album in the early '70s as a teen.
“You don’t have the first press let it be if you don’t have the box” that hit me where I live dawg
Yeah it really annoyed me when somebody said that to me as I felt like I then had to find a box! Luckily I found one in great shape for a decent price! I’ve seen them listed at a lot more that’s for sure!
Is your With The Beatles crediting Jobete for the song Money, and does it say “gotta” or “got a” on the back cover in the song list
Discogs tells me I do have Jobete but I will have to check the cover when I get home. Which one should it be ha!?
Just checked it’s the gotta sleeve and jobete. I probably checked all of this when I was first looking but yeah it’s a first ha!
@@damontalksrecords6484 nice my friend! Happy listening happy hunting!
Not a Beatles collector , but pick up the odd old looking one in good condition. Got me wondering if they are valuable, and have also some japanese beatles pressings. Some good info. Damon, and glad you're back making videos.
🥰🥰🥰
Damon that was an awesome Beatles 1st pressing 🍻
Cheers Lovell, hoping to post some more content just been so busy!
@@damontalksrecords6484same here brother
Good to see ya mate. The collection is looking good. The Let It Be looks lovely, total bargain. I've had two mono Submarines. One from a carboot that I sold on due to condition and another from a dealer. Looked stone mint, cover and lp but played with distortion so I didn't keep that either. I agree its not their best but worth it for Hey Bulldog and George's songs. Speak soon mate...Nige
If I can find a clean copy for less than £100 notes I’ll probably bite. Haven’t bought much of anything recently. Last record I bought was an original press of Loaded by the VU but even that was about 2 months ago! Always keeping my eye out for bits but being a lot more selective with what I buy these days! Hope you’re keeping well Nige, hopefully I’ll bump into you at a fair soon!
@@damontalksrecords6484 I'm sure you'll find one. I'm buying too much as usual. Hope to catch up at some point mate👍
Man oh man, what a line up of albums! Insane! Some absolutely serious heat here, and some great taste here as well. Loved seeing all of them. Cheers, man!
Thanks a lot mate! Always on the look out for different things!
Never get tired of seeing that Elvis record, what a find . And love the cartoon. Its always fun to check Discogs and see which of the records i own are spiralling up in value. Will do a similar video one day. That Horse and Fuchsia art is eye catching, and hopefully if i am lucky enough to ever run across them. I will remember this video. Nice one Damon.
Love the artwork of Horse! Fuchsia is also great and both musically are fantastic! Check them out if you haven’t heard them! Horse is heavy psych with evil lyricism and insinuations and Fuchsia is a dreamy folky album with insane musicianship!
I had a trannie friend at university who gave me his dads near mint original copy of the velvet’s banana record , he may have been a mentally Ill trannie but man he was awesome to give me that, lovely guy too such a shame he’s delusional in his head.
Awesome mate. Best records ever shown on YT by a UK dude! Your Horse does look superb btw... perfect looking sleeve, along with Fuchsia. And July is just the stuff of dreams...mighty jealous (as you know!).
Not as jealous as I am of your collection! I've got some catching up to do!

@@damontalksrecords6484 Haha, cheers mate.
Cheers. Will check it out. On the basis of the other stuff you have shown on your channel, i am sure it will be interesting.
Would love to know what you think!
@@damontalksrecords6484 I have given it a listen on TH-cam and streamed some of her other output. I prefer the album you highlighted, she has such a strong voice and range. Some really tasty guitar as well on this album. And one track with flute sounds very Jethro Tull. I like Female Jazz type vocals which i think she developed more. I will see if i can find this album, as you cannot really forget the cover image!. Cheers mate.
@@AttackFromDownunda glad you enjoyed it! I’m after an Australian record at the minute which I wanted to do a lost sounds found on! But because I’m weird I need the Australian pressing which isn’t the easiest to find in the UK! Hopefully I get one soon!
This sounds like a really good record. There is so much music to discover.
You’re right! There’s too much! But always nice to hear something new!
This has been on my want list for many many years. So good.
Such an amazing talent!
The last track is epic
I recommend Benjamin Todd songs i swore i never sing album
I’ll check that out!
Bill evens trio and sam getz the peacocks
you have been busy in your absence. Warhorse, i have two re-release albums that are great. A lot of stuff here is on my radar, but not a hope in hell of picking up. But nice to see anyway. Got a Record Fair to go to, so you never know. Def- Heavy Hitters.
I curse the fact I struggle to find US presses here in the UK so I can’t imagine your pain! Some great talent came out of Oz too though! Good luck at the fair and I hope you find something special!
@@damontalksrecords6484 I will probably make a video out of it , if i find anything decent. I did pick up that New Order record you showed at the last one however.
Heavy hitters
Every second record you showed would beat my best vinyl finds for this year. Some real crazy good stuff. I have all my luck at record fairs as well. And come away with a stack of records. My local record shop seems to know whats valuable and prices accordingly , so no bargains there.
I’ve been lucky and have had some funds from selling a load! That Elvis and Horse did get me excited though!
Hey Damon, just found your channel. Some great picks, will have to check some of these out that I haven't heard.
Let me know what you think! There’s a good variety in there!
Have you listened to any Family yet? Great band, they have 7 albums, all great, especially the first 4. A Song For Me got it when it was released, one of their best. I have watched loads of vinyl community vlogs and they never get mentioned. I saw them a number of times back around 1970 and even John Lennon loved them! 😊 Free were also great live. I’ve got a lot of the albums your showing, I started buying albums in 1963 up to around the late 80’s. Then CD’s became more popular! It’s great that young guys are into the 60’s 70’s, at the time there was so much great music!
I haven’t had a chance to spin that family record yet! Tons of sobs is just head banging blues from start to finish, guitar work is insane! For me the 60’s and 70’s is the peak of creative music and it is still to be bested, to be honest I doubt it ever will! 1971 alone has some of the greatest records of all time, just in that year! Thankfully I never started seriously with CD’s been collecting records since my late teens and have purged the collection a few times as tastes develop and mature!
Hello! I'm not gonna try to mention 10 perfect albums, first note to last as I only have 2 that fit that criteria. Of course it's all up to personal taste. Here are my 2: Nick Drake-Bryter Layer...like you I think all o' his albums are excellent but this one is PERFECT. And Simon & Garfunkel-Bookends. Some might say Voices O' Old People ruins that theory but it's an integral part o' the whole for me. P.S. I'm an old geezer with 15,000 lp's.
Bryter Layter is magical isn’t it! I’ve been hunting originals of the other 2 for a while now and they’re eluding me! I find it’s probably the least favourited of Drake’s records but for me it stands as his best, but like I say, I think all are perfect records in their own right!
Solid choices all around, no major changes for me, everyone will have a different list of perfect albums depending on the genres and music they grew up with, I love funk and soul so Funkadelic put out a perfect album in Maggot Brain but I do 💯 agree with Marvin Gaye, I would swap out Kendrick Lamar for A Tribe Called Quest and Low End Theory but I’m a 90’s kid and will always have a soft spot for 90’s hip hop. For classic rock, Boston’s first album is perfect, Fleetwood Mac Rumours is perfect and The Cars self titled first album too, but those always make the top 10, nice choices with My Bloody Valentine and John Coltrane but I will choose Miles Davis kind of Blue because I have an OG given to me by my great uncle who was a jazz head in the 50’s cheers from Canada
Great stuff Dean! I have a first pressing of maggot brain and love it, I agree it’s up there as a perfect album! Kind of blue is amazing of course and there are a number of jazz records I think are perfect but for the sake of diversity I tried to choose separate genres!
Some serious heat you scored. And I can honestly say that might be the cleanest Elvis I have ever seen.
I was super excited about the Elvis!
Great finds
You found some amazing records. So many good ones, and a few I don't know.
I’ve definitely been riding the wave of my last record purge! All spent up now! Haha!
I did a video for this thread when it was announced. I have none of the records you mentioned 🙂 (I just subbed your channel).
I’ll check it out!
This was one of the best threads from last year! I'm new here, just subbed you... good stuff although I know none of them lol Cheers from Brazil!
Give some a listen! If you like jazz, blues, psych or folk you’re in for a treat!
@@damontalksrecords6484 yes, I do appreciate those music styles when I am in the mood. I just never dived deep into them though. Always learning, always seeking for more :)
Ten perfect records is hard to do. I like Coltrane but for me Miles is the one that has done some perfect albums. Of the early acoustic Bob Dylan albums Freewheelin is my favorite. The MoFi Dylan's sound great but I'm not a fan of the 2 LP at 45 RPM. I don't have a problem with MoFi.
Love me some Miles! Look forward to seeing your 10!
@@damontalksrecords6484 It would be hard. Perfect records are by no means my favorites.
That’s the beauty of it!

After this video been listening to John Martyns " Church with one Bell ", becoming obsessed with him. I know its a covers album and not his best, but i like it. As well as " Solid Air ", Thanks for the introduction. Do you know the story that Martyn only recorded " Church " as he wanted to fund the purchase of the " Church " so in exchange he begrudgingly made the album for the record company.
I actually love Church with one bell. His version of Glory Box is sublime! It got an RSD release a couple years back so I picked it up then! Not heard that story, I’ve got a book about him called in the wee small hours or something, I just haven’t got around to reading it yet! Martyn really was an exceptional talent, unfortunately he wasn’t a very nice person but sometimes you have to separate the art from the artist! Listen to Bless the weather next, another of his best!
Hey Damon. I found you through Steve from All The World’s a Stage. Welcome to the VC. Just subbed your channel. I think Im going to tackle this topic. Stay tuned.

Great channel so far. Follow queue a few of the obvious ones but always great content on here
Thanks a lot! Would be interested to hear what you’d like to see more of!
Hi Damon. Learned about your channel from Steve at All the Worlds a Stage. Love your list. Personal favs are always fun to see what music moves them. Cheers, Jeff
Nice one! Show me yours!
Good stuff I just discovered your channel and subbed you up, thajnks for sharing, cool group of records! Peace!
Nice one Mike! Give it a go! Always interesting to see others choices!
100% want list items right here!!!! Awesome video. We seem to have the same taste in music!
You have some amazing stuff! I started a VC challenge in a previous video of 10 perfect records! Would love to see your picks! You’d have some really interesting choices! A few people in the VC have jumped on the challenge now and it’s great seeing such varied taste in peoples choices! Much love from the UK!
Some great records to look out for, don't have any of them. Lightnin' Hopkins is my favourite bluesman, got a compilation only. Liked, Subscribed. Thanks Damon, for the interesting videos. I'm looking online, and streaming some of your picks.
Let me know what you think! That Lightnin record sounds pretty awful but like yourself he’s probably my favourite blues man! I do have one of the Lightnin “grails” I’ll get around to showing it at some point!
Hey Damon. Just discovered your channel by way of Mike over at MGKBOSTON doing your thread of 10 perfect albums. Sounds like a great idea for a thread. I look forward to posting one for that. Anyway. Welcome to the VC. Subbed and liked man! I certainly don't have any of those LP's you showed. Interesting. Cheers 🍻 🤘🎶🤘
I look forward to seeing your picks! Thanks for the support!
Hey Damon, Can’t go wrong with Solid Air, my first John Martyn record, but have come to revere Bless The Weather. My blind spot tends to be rap/hip hop- so not familiar with the music of those artists in your list- but otherwise share the love you have for these 10 records.
Bless the Weather was the record I was talking about when I said I'd picked up another! Amazing record, his stuff with Beverly is amazing as well! That's the beauty of the 10 perfect records pic, every single person will have different views and opinions! Would love to hear what you would go for!
@@damontalksrecords6484 very true. Great artists/bands have more than one potential favourite records. That’s why they are great. I will endeavour to put my list together.
@@damontalksrecords6484 Great!
Hi Damon, Mike MGK Boston send me. Very cool thread, I'll jump in. Love Nick Drake too, Loveless and Kid A could very well be on my list as well. Cheers
Just watched his video! Thanks for coming along! Nick Drake is timeless, one of my all time favourites!
Hi there Damon! Yours was a good list. I just uploaded my response. Come on over and check it out. I just subscribed to your channel. ✌️
I wasn't expecting to have ANY of these records and yet behold I did; the very first one you showed (and the only one lol). I count my Canadian VG pressing of H.P. Lovecraft as one of my best $1 thrift finds...bested only by a VG mono copy of the Blue Mitchell Sextet - Blue Soul; same $1 place, different visit. However, these rare finds are becoming even more rare. I enjoyed the selection.
Hey! You have to have the same pressing for it to count! Haha! Great record HP Lovecraft and not too pricey!
I'll have to give HP Lovecraft a listen. I love HP Sauce, so if it's anything like that I'll be happy.
Hahaha, HP sauce is the GOAT like!
nice records again damon i have the robert johnson but a reissue ... the howlin wolf i had in my hands once but then got distracted by some other records and left it behind in the shop, not seen it again ... norma tanega is on my list but never seen them! my friend has a shop and reckons they pop up now and again i have done a vinyl finds video i ll bang it up today , 30mins long though as ive had a good month 😂 nothing rare but loads of solid finds . i ve got an order with my mate for a load of audiophile stuff so i think i will be done for a while 😂 gonna spend some solid time listening to what i got now
I’ve seen the Norma Tanega records once, and I wasn’t making the mistake of never seeing them again! The Wolf US pressings are a bit of a grail for me but they’re few and far between and pricey! Look forward to watching your next video! I’ve a load of audiophile stuff and they always sound great but nothing scratches that itch more than rare originals for me, that’s the curse I’m blessed with haha! I do have the Marley UHQR’s sat on order with Acoustic Sounds so once they come in I’ll do a video or something on them!
@@damontalksrecords6484 i m the same , i love originals but the chance you find clean ones are so slim nowadays - and if you do people want silly money . I get the audiophile stuff at cost from the ditributor so it s hard to say no, only ordered a few - coltranes sound, miles davis jack johnson and some records on intervention .. they work out at less than £40 each but online they are double that... originals are definitely nice though. I ll find norma eventually :-)
