Thank you from a Navy veteran. I am also a cellist and love hearing the cello with this beautiful piece. Additionally, I play my cello with my wife who plays the harp and piano. If that is not enough, our dog loves to listen to my wife on the harp and it often induces a nap. He, however does not like my cello and will quickly run off when we play together. What am I doing wrong? Hahaha! Love your duet! Thank you again!
My grandfather served for us in the navy during World War II
Thank you so much for your message, Mary. It is really kind of you to say you would be happy to record something for my mother. I have told her this and she is touched by the offer. Her favourite hymn is He who would Valiant Be. If it was possible to play that I am sure she would enjoy it. I think your Cavies are beautiful. I love the close ups of their delightful faces. All good wishes.
Thank you so much for your very kind message ❤ I’m very happy for you to share this with your dear mother! If she has any other requests let me know and I’d be happy to record them. Cavies really are the greatest😊
Very pleased to find this, Mary. My 103 year old mother asked me to find Brother James Air played by Myra Hess. Having failed to find it, I was searching for another accomplished pianist. Sadly I found all the other solo pianist to lack the ‘smoothness’ of Myra Hess but you do have that quality so I shall enjoy sharing this with my mother. I must add that I am so pleased to see your dear Cavies feature in this video. I had a Blenheim Cavie who I have as my TH-cam picture here. Many thanks from England, UK.
Mary Jo, this is one of my favorite hymns. Love that your dog loves music!
Very well played.
I thought your 🐶 🐕🦮 dogs sleep all the time
LOL!!! Usually they do but Johnny Cash was full of energy!! As soon as I stopped playing they both snuggled on their chair and fell asleep :)
What fun! Great arrangement. I’m not a churchy guy, but those old hymns are part of the American songbook. I still ply them myself, but not like you ❤
One of my favorites too. Thanks MaryJo
Had to give up after the camera operator was more interested in the dogs than the playing
Hi- I understand! I made these hundreds of videos to be sent out to my church congregation during the pandemic and I got more comments about the dogs than the music so they do end up being featured 😊 Have a great day!
You really got the swing, in Jesus'name. Bravo 👏👌
I’ve been working on this lovely arrangement. You did it so well! I’m close. Maybe by next 4th of July (as I seem to only work on it a few days before the holiday each year)!
Thank you MaryJo. Your music is so calming and inspirational. (Regarding this piece: When i was. working at Groth Music years ago, isomeone told me about a funeral where this song was sung by the husband of the deceased. It was his wife’s favorite song. Think about the words of the chorus: “I sing because i’m happy, I sing because I’m free.” ) 🙂. -. Gordy
I love this song. Thank you! 🥰
Very pretty song, Mom and Daughter! It’s nice to hear other Christians praising the Lord with their talents! 🥰
Wonderful arrangement and superb rendition! Should really have much more upvotes!
Love the sleeping cavi's
Last year I posted one Christmas carol a day to my FB page that was written by my brother to keep his memory alive. This Christmas season I am posting one Christmas duet daily written by him. May I have your permission to post this beautiful performance?

Thank you for sharing your gift of music. It's truly beautiful.
Beautiful arrangement. I love Joel Raney as much as Mark Hayes arrangements. You have a lovely, sensitive touch when you play.
So sorry for your family’s loss. Beautiful piece to honor your dad. 🎶💜

You play so beautifully & make it sound so easy! How I wish I had your talent. Thank you for inspiring!
Hello Mary Jo Gothmann, why couldn't you Try Remaking A Daddy Grand Piano by putting on 88 Tuning Forks like what you did on an Upright Piano, Please do the Same Thing on a Daddy Grand Piano For Most of us TH-camrs, It will be a much Better Idea For us so we can Try and See and Hear Pianos with 88 Tuning Forks inside Thank You.

Your playing inspires me! I so enjoy arrangements by Mark Hayes & what I would give to play them with even a fourth of your talent! Thank you for sharing your gift!
