Everyone is over rating Cellebrini sure he is a really good skater and a very good IQ but I strongly disagree that defense is NOT in his fortay and his size is a factor.. I am not going to say that Demidov is any better with his defensive IQ but imo Demidov could be a bigger factor in spite of surrounding players where as Macklin will need quality line mates.

Hmm how to keep this short albeit it is never easy to evaluate players in a few words. Gavin McKenna came off as the teams best player and Cayden was sort of average. Now Cayden was injured a long time which of course hampers your development but still Gavin was only 15 being his teams best player. So when comes to Cayden it would be much like Slafkovsky and that is mostly a guessing game.I heard a LOT of excuses about age with Salfkovsky but that left me thinking what player was Hughes and co actually drafting when picking Slafkovsky because he msot certainly did not look very good for a long time. Long story short I feel Cayden isa bit of a risk sure another big guy with potential but he does at least already show more than what Slafkovsky did his first year and a half. Having seen the plaoffs I still have to think that if Gavin was your best player it doesn't put much of a ceiling on Cayden. So my gut feeling is picking Demidov and if we can't get him then sur gamble on Cayden or pick another D in Dickenson or Parehk.

Great content you guys !!! Keep up the good work 👍 Just some of my thoughts real quick : Sebastian said in his opinion, there was a big drop-off after the 10th rank… but yall also said Dickinson had hockey IQ concerns / limitations (which is usually a pretty big red flag) AND Said (rightfully so) that Helenius lacks ELITE traits, and therefore has limited Upside (ALSO… a pretty big red flag imo) So… that leads me to believe there ISN’T a big dropoff after the 10th spot And finally, just for the sake of having a little bit of fun & for future reference I’ll end this with My Personal List (which isn’t a Mock draft at all, but simply the players I love the most personally) : 1. Macklin Celebrini 2. Demidov 3. Parekh 4. Berkly Catton 5. Zeev Buium 6. LIAM GREENTREE 7. HENRY MEWS 8. BECKETT SENNECKE 9. Cayden Lindstrom 10. Tij Iginla 11. Carter Yakemchuk 12. Sam Dickinson 13. Cole Eiserman** 14. Trevor Connelly** 15. YEGOR SURIN 16. STIAN SOLBERG 17. Alfons Freij 18. Michael Hage 19. Igor Chernyshov 20. Terik Parascak 21. Teddy Stiga 22. Andrew Basha 23. Artyom Levshunov** Notes : No, that’s not a mistake, I didn’t forget Helenius, MBN & Silayev. I just don’t like the lack of upside of Helenius & MBN. And Silayev for me is just a big guy who can skate, but lacks dreadfully hockey IQ. People compare him to Hedman. I see more of a Logan Stanley with him. And yes… I have Levshunov at 23. A lack of hockey IQ (issues with the decision making for me means : lack of hockey IQ) usually leads to lack of success in the NHL. (Just think of guys like Phillip Broberg. Big. Could skate really well. But had the hockey IQ of a squirrel. Result ? Never amounted to anything in the NHL)

This is one of the oddest drafts I can ever remember. I feel after al is said and done people are going to be surprised. Some of these highly rated will be ho hum average in the NHL and a few will be better than expected. If I could think of a few things to look for it would be how players work in traffic along the boards and around the net. Good skaters can buy themselves time but tend to roam around the perimeter instead of getting the puck to the net more often.Another problem good skaters tend to keep cycling looking for that perfect play that never comes. So in those cases we see a LOT of zone time but then scratch our heads wondering why nothing comes of all that puck possession. Another key is IQ in the two way game because great defensive zone awareness creates great transition hockey.

Guys, this list is beyond bananas... It's like you're all living in a parallel univers where size doesn't matter. Every single year, public lists make the same mistake. They vastly underestimate how much NHL scouts value size. But your list doesn't underestimate size, it disregards it completely. Catton at 3?? Levshunov at 9 and the cherry on the sundae: A 6"7" 17 year old defenseman playing well in the KHL, Silayev, at 12!! Or is it Cole Eiserman at... 16!! If I were you, I would seriously consider having another go at this offline ASAP and make some serious ajustements. You look like good kids, but this is amateur hour and a "reputation destroying list".

This is fantastic. Question: It seems that the NHL has valued offensive defenseman more than "defensive" defenseman the last 10 years or so. Back in the early 2000s, big, power defenseman were way more coveted and their draft positions reflected that. That has not been the case recently. It seems that Dickinson being this highly ranked goes against current trends. Why is that?
