What weapon is that guy using? Beast claw?
It's the Stake Driver. A hunk of machinery attached to a steel, spear-like blade. Untransformed, the blade is extended, working like a katar with slicing attacks. Transformed, the blade is loaded into the mechanism. You fight with forward punches, your heavy attack causing the driver to launch the stake forward and transforming it back to katar mode. Charged attacks from the transformed mode take extra long and launch you back from the blast, but they are the very definition of packing a punch.
