That's pretty common to not get paid diag on things under warranty. Which is why some tech that are tired of it will shot gun parts at something. With the mentality of I'm not getting paid to diag it and based on the codes this is the most likely fix
Nice idea but isn’t effective enough to warrant the price tag. Especially if you have a skeletonized rifle.. rapid cooling can also warp the barrel.. but I’m sure this shouldn’t cause that to happen.
Looks neat gotta keep her cool
Can i get a account set up? Im moving to east Coast area next year. Moving from CA to VA ill give my business to you?
does this effect the climate control system?
This tip is dumb cause any compressor you buy for these type of cars have that already on new compressor so I’m more than sure it’s new on a new compressor so don’t worry about this UNLESS your not trying to replace your compressor only if your checking to see if it’s the compressors aka thermostat lol cause no joe shmo is gunna think there’s something on the back of this almost 400dollar part that it could just be that part “its just this flap w 2 ten mil bolts on it” 😂 it that refrigerant control valve bruh it comes brand new on new compressor?!?!?
Did you even watch the video this is a hack it has nothing to do with replacing the part.
Thanks for the video. Do you know how the "DUAL AIR" system is designed on 2007 ford Freestyle Limited(or similar cars like that)? Does it have 2 evaporators, or just 1 under the dash? The label under the hood about AC oil and refrigerant, requires more for "Dual Air" than single AC system, what is the technical reason for that? If it has 2 evaporators, where is the 2nd/rear passenger one located? Thanks
For dual air systems they should have another evaporator towards the back of the car that the rear air uses for cool/warm air.
@@punker6506 Thank you so much for that info. Do you happen to know "exactly" where that rear evaporator is located by any chance? thanks
@appleSUX1 i can't say that I know exactly where it is exactly. Usually, it is located in one of the rear corners of the car. You should be able to look under the car and see the ac lines and heater hoses going from front to back of the car and go up into one of the corners. When you do find it be careful. It is in an assembly and they can be tricky to take apart and put together. Maybe you could find a youtube video?
Bluetooth speaker
Thanks but how did u manage to get the top left bolt out of compressor??? There isnt much room for sockets and the bolt is very long.. Did u use crescent and Heat
Cut the bottom off with a die grinder, takes 20 seconds.

I am right now a lube tech in a Lexus dealer. Has been with them for 2 years without being promoted to be an apprentice. Do you have any advice ? I am consider to relocate due to high cost living of California.
Tell them make you an apprentice or go somewhere that will
Had mine for about 7 years now, I've been taking it to the range once a month or whenever I shoot my rc2 or surefire mini2, works fast and keeps my colt 6945, and IAR nice and cool for pack up. Machinegun owners will be all over these in a few years, you snooze you lose with this! I cannot find a second one, I look every year since 2019 for a spare, wishing I bought another spare barrel cooler! 350 rds suppressed in 30 mins, 12 mins hooked up afterwards, and I pack up 8 minutes later. It sounds like a blow dryer but I could care less, plus getting alot of strange looks from the rso in bafflement of a computer fan for all intents a purposes sticking out of an ar-15... its the most memorable thing about me when at the range oddly enough they are that rare I suppose. The led blue light is the silly part that could have been omitted but its nice to have so you and those around you know the weapon is clear in dim or low light, caldwells golden egg of a product since its the only barrel cooler that does not contact the 400-500F chamber melting said plastic stick with rubber gasket imho a must have if you are a serious nfa owner.
Hello, I have a question about my Chevy silverado 1500 lt crew cab with a 5.3 engine. I know it is not related to the info on this video, but I need some help if ya'll can. Yesterday, I did my oil change, and I used dexos fully synthetic. Was I supposed to use dexos 1? Also, what's the capacity for this model? Thank you.
I'll never understand why people make videos of musical instruments and not have any audio from said instrument.
If working at a dealership is unfair, is it still worth it to Get GM ASEP? I like chevrolet cars and I want to learn more about chevrolet cars and how to diagnose and fix any problems
Ok so I did exactly as you said and it's blowing at 51 degrees on max a/c at idle!
what is the temp outside? If it's anything over 85 you are golden. 30 degrees below ambient is acceptable.
Holy shit I'm having this same exact problem. My old Compressor was junk. It kept snapping the belt so I went on ebay bought a used one for 60$ and now I'm having this exact problem. Blows warm at idle, blows cold when driving. I'm going to do exactly what you said and save a little money. I'll let you know how it works out. Thanks soooooo much I've been doing so much research and I thought that I would have to replace the valve. I just hate getting the freon drained and then replaced..... it sucks cause I just had it done.
Let me buy it
It depends on the shop you go to, and what you do. Ive been working at a GM dealership for about 12 years (not the same one but in the industry) as a transmission tech, and currently Im making about 240k-250k a year and that's after paying my helper a little over 3k a month. Knowing what work to do when, get your training, know how to write a good story, and most importantly get in a shop that has the volume for what you do, if its 15A or heavy line or hybrid. Might take a few dealers to hop around but you eventually find one.
$250k a year doing transmission work at a dealer? I am sorry but that can't be true. with all the warranty and BS I saw the lead techs go through at my old job I can't see how they could do 150k. Let alone 250k! Props to you! I got out of the grind and got a job at a school district maintaining their fleet of work trucks. Much needed change of pace. Way less wear and tear on this 40 year old body.
Transmission guy at my GM store, (we do all 4) hes making 15-17k a month currently
So just how long is it ?
🤣🤣🤣 I'm surprised you have only one red dot on your rifle and no red accents
red anodized parts are the devil! they are red for a reason lol. This video was done purely to get views. Looking back it's super cringe, but it is what it is. I may start posting videos again. I am starting to get close the the 1000 sub threshold for monitizaiton.
You got a watch it because you may have the updated AC compressor on or that does not have that valve in there. I already ran into that issue. My pressures were equalizing. Could not see it good enough could not get the valve out and once I got it out, I looked at it real close, and that is not a piston in there it is blocked off it’s a updated compressor, so what do you have? Is your compressors failing? If you have the one that valve does not come out there’s two different types of compressors that’s why you need to look at your gauges to see if, it is equalizer or if your head pressures just coming up and if your head pressure is coming up only you got a restriction either one of two things condensers plugged internally or the fins are plugged I know because I dealt with this issue because I thought that I was Cadiz replace a valve And I could not because there is no valve there to replace is the updated compressor after I got it back together I had another issue after replacing compressor receiver, dryer expansion valve. My head pressure was spiking. I I had to clean the condenser the fins because I wasn’t getting off airflow and that’s why my head pressure was spiking so if you don’t know don’t do this you may already have the updated compressor. There is no orifice tube in the 500s is expansion valve only if you have knowledge with AC systems put gauges on it Ronit test it before you jump the gun.
And when the valve is stuck in a compressor, you got two options either replace it or pull it out get the valve out or put it back in and you’re in catch 22. Is the compressor going to last or fail so you must replace it.
Just buy truck, tools and all , then drive your tool box to the work sites.sell the stuff you don't use to make room for the photon bed and coffee pot like I did.
i'll stik with the air wrenches
Exactly what I was looking for because everybody locally doesn’t have just a valve they want you to buy the whole AC compressor and this compressor is only about three years old and it works fine. There is no leaks in the system. I was thinking about cleaning it but I kept researching. I’m glad I found this site now I know, and yes I have the AC equipment to recover the system so it’s not going to cost me nothing just my time and save $27 not only that you have head pressure switch so if your system goes low or your head pressure climbs, it’s going to shut the system down you’re not gonna have a issue to where are you gonna burn your system up
Thanks a lot for posting this! I just bought an 05 Freestyle last week, I had never even heard of one before. The thing rides awesome, but does the exact same thing at idle rpm at a red light and you just showed me how to fix it! Again, Thanks for posting!
I just bought a 2006 five houndred and the air conditioning does not cool, I put a new air filter on it and when I checked the gas pressure I saw that it was overpressured, I took out all the refrigerant gas and recharged it with new gas, but it still doesn't cool the air in the car
6 hours! Even 2 hours is ridiculous. This is why I miss my cameros. I have a mercury sable and i can't stand these jap style engines. I could replace any basic component on a GM in under and hour, water pump being abiut an hour. Even replaced the oil pump with a high output pump under an hour but i did have access to a lift for that ine. Man i hate the way these Hondas, fords, etc are built
Doing the same with a 10 pole pickup and an LM4250NC 2 band preamp for a copy of the Prototype #26. May put the split coil back in in the Mark Hoppus reversed position with an active blend control
Took me a hour to take it out ,now to find a new one
That’s a lot of money
What did you do to route out the musicman
they sell routing templates for all the different pickups. Taped the template down and went to work with a buddies router. as long as your have the right roller guide bit you are good to go.
Pbass BODY, jazzbass NECK and musicman PICKUP = Perfect Bass
I have another p-bass that you will love. started with another squier bass but now the only original thing left is the body. I will have to make a video on it.
So unnecessary
The video I made is cringe. However the cooling effect has it's merits. Sure you could just wait for it to cool, but not everyone has time for that.
I’m just Gunna say I miss snap ons gold color on air hammer attachments and hex and torx bits
As a former GM Warranty Administrator and a Journeyman Mechanic, the ONLY ways a dealer can't make money on warranty repairs are as follows: 1. Poor write-up from the Service Advisors in their communication with the customer. Remember, the Service Advisor is NOT a technician, and it is not their responsibility to DIAGNOSE, it is their responsibility to delineate CONDITIONS and COMPLAINTS CLEARLY. 2. Inadequate training of the technician provided with the task. This This will also include where technicians fail to follow the diagnostic tree AND DOCUMENT all tasks with results in the diagnostic tree. This is critical, as in the next line....... 3. Inadequate training and execution of tasks for the Warranty Administrator. All tasks within the diagnostic tree are billable hours - it takes a skilled administrator to understand all the labor codes to corelate to the completed repair. Without all three portions working together, it is impossible to break even on warranty repairs. Everyone must be skilled in their position within this chain. If the Service Advisor fails to provide a work order the tech can decipher, time and money are lost. Details such as service history are often critical! If the tech skips steps, fails to write down steps taken or at worst, doesn't understand the system to be worked on, the losses are unrecoverable - period. If the Warranty Admin is unable to understand the difference between a tire and a steering wheel - the dealership is best to close its doors. Remember, training and upgrades are not always the dealer's responsibility. In this modern age, there is no excuse to not be familiar with the newest of systems BEFORE the training is established - why not be familiar with new techniques and stuff by the time the training rolls around, so you can be ready to confirm what you already know? Losing time here or there to only complain about it, solves nothing. YOU ARE A MECHANIC! By nature, you should be figuring out exactly where things went wrong in the job - and sometimes the answer isn't what you like. Trust me, you aren't the first, and not the last.
GM is just a bunch of cheap bastards that don’t want to pay labor times correctly. Of course, if you put a technician in a room and have them do the same thing over and over again for 1000 times he’ll be able to do it that fast as a warranty labor time.
I can’t get it passed the ac manifold
While innovative this seems like a waste of money. Just let the gun sit down and cool off for a few minutes
So is this same spot as standard MusicMan or is it more towards the neck? Looks very much the same spot what I have figured in my mind 👌
I measured it and it is in the exact same spot as a stingray. basically split the pickup with the pickguard and you are in the right spot.
Very cool, broski! Thanks for sharing.
This a waste of $ and pretty stupid if u ask me tbh
Why didn’t you make this video when you were shooting it but thanks for letting me know what it is !
What are the sizes of those bolts?
After all the solution that i tried, am trying to do this trick but am afraid of that the compressor will fail!? after couple of years from that video released, any feedback, any one can tell me to go ahead 😁
I did it. Failed. Worked for year But compressor failed. Too much pressure no relief. Don't do it. Just get new piece. Only 50 bucks on ebay
Why would you not use diagnostic time punches? I’ve been a dealer tech for 20 years and knowing your billable diagnostic time is the meat of a paycheque. If you’ve got a code and a diagnostic document ID you’d be good for that hour of diag PLUS your repair time.
Very effective method on removing a stuck tpms valve stem! Nice simple straight forward video 👍
Warranty times with ALL manufacturers is nothing but legalized stealing. Time for change!!
