I don’t know if people understand how hard it would be for someone to go from a toxic environment and enter a healthy relationship. For the longest time I’ve thought little to nothing of myself. Coming from a toxic household, trying to reach impossible standards set by those around me, the pressure of so many things all at once- you know, the usual. I entered this relationship with someone thinking I was ready to fall in love again. Turns out I wasn’t as healed as I thought I was, and things around me from people to experiences bring a lot of triggers and affected me in a lot of areas. So at the start of being with my boyfriend (together now for almost a year!) I found it so difficult to trust, to let him do these new things that I never experienced before such as being given roses just because, random gifts, endless reassurances, and a thousand i love you’s every day. It was hard to trust. It was hard to move forward. The transition from the life I’ve always known into a relationship that changed my entire perspective on most things was difficult. But nonetheless, it was worth it. Kaya ngayon even though I’m still in the same environment, my boyfriend was there and became my best friend, a partner, someone I could look up to, and slowly trust. After a while of questioning whether or not he was real or just playing a trick on me, his consistency and personality really pulled me in and trusting him just became something natural. So to everyone listening to this right now and reading this, if you were in the same position as I was before and you finally found someone who treats you so good that it’s unbelievable, hayaan mo lang. Let it happen, allow yourself to be treated kindly, and let yourself trust someone. Take the risk and love that person if your heart is telling you to! Hayaan mo lang, let it happen.💗

I swear to God, this is one of the most underrated Filipino song masterpieces

This song is extra special to me. This was the song my boyfriend played and sang to while we were together on the couch. Before that happy moment, we went through so much hardships to the point where I made a mistake and broke us up. After that a few days passed and I was heartbroken, i couldn’t do anything right and I couldn’t even take care of myself. I was a lost cause. Eventually I called him, asking for another chance. At first he told me he had no answer. But this time my heart and mind were in unison, telling me I needed to pursue him this time. When I got back from Singapore, I met up with him one morning at the very place where he told me he was going to court me. I was afraid he would meet up for a closure while I was there to ask for another chance. I didn’t want the start to meet the end. Luckily enough for me, after some time he agreed to give it another go. This song always reminds me of how much I truly i love him. This song reminds me of the second chance we managed to have, the second chance that we will not waste. I guarantee that we were meant to be To my love, if you’re reading this, know that this song means a lot to me and that I love what we share. I love you the most, I guarantee ♥️
