Just a reality check, $150K-$250 for a family of four is not a lot after taxes and all the basic costs and needs a family needs in the Bay Area. And that income bracket does not qualify for financial assistance from the government, unlike families that make much less. I know, invariably, someone will comment how wonderful they live with $20K-$80K in the Bay Area but they're not offering the full picture (government assistance, parental support, inherited property or discounted rent, roommates, no kids, etc.)
