Wow this looks like shit 💩 I noticed earlier today at one of Maacos shops the same things on their urethane single stage paint job. they quoted me $1400 for an older model Corolla which I thought was a decent deal. no body Work included.

Your too fussy you get what you pay for better shops cost more because they take trim lights etc etc off before

I have a body shop, I would’ve taken off the tail lights and wheel opening chrome just because its easier, I would have had some mess ups if I painted it to, paint on tire etc

A year later and you still get what you pay for.

Looks alot better by the video. You have to remove trim yourself. Real paint jobs where I live start at 4k. and go up from there. But like you said beats truck payment

A: its NOT a $2000 paint job... You needed alot of body prep.... People like you drive me NUTS.....So if you would have done what YOU knew you should have done the truck would look amazing,,, The paint looks like factory finish... That is nice.... Id be mad at myself not them!

The basic paint job looks great; but the devil is in the details; and the masking they did is terrible; this is why i decided not to have them paint my classic car; better safe than sorry; and i would expect this kind of work and regret it !!! THANKS for this heads up video;

The fact that Ram doesn’t offer a V8 anymore like Ford and Chevy will cause them to lose sales. Their quality plummeted under Stellantis.

It all depends on the Maaco. My local maaco does the prep work and their paint jobs are pretty good for the price.

I paid 400 for my set but I also got the ware insurance so I’m basically getting free tires for life because it’s a 25,000 mile warranty, I would highly recommend. The only thing that is weird about these tires is they have a super numb steering character for a uhp tire, like I feel like I’m driving a Prius or something.

Considering how it looked previously, for $2,000, I would be happy with this.

Each Maaco is independently owned, so the quality of the work will be determined by how good each location is. I just had my Tundra painted by Maaco and it came out fantastic. I paid for the most expensive package. My total was about $2300 including removing one small dent and remove/reattach my tailgate handle. All the little things this guy is complaining about was not a problem for me. All Maacos are not the same. Review your local shops individually.

The key to using Maaco is to take off the mirrors, grille, headlights, tail lights, bed cover, and fender flares before you let them start on the truck. They literally just tape over those quickly which leads to paint lines and overspray. I'd even take the bumpers off so they can paint around them correctly.

I'm on the fence, I need my truck painted, it has some body work to handle, after talking to a couple shops that only do collision repairs and I understand that looks like Maaco will be the one, I'm probably going to use the one in Douglasville, my truck is 25 years old now, and I certainly won't pay for a restoration job, nor do I need it, thanks for the video.

Back in 1980 earl scheib company was painting cars for 69.95 which looked pretty much like what you got for the money great job

All in all I think it looks good, a little paint thinner and razor blade, my thing would how long it last, how well it holds up. Main stream paint shops, like the other guy said, 8 grand, which is insane. And I think white is pretty for giving color. Look good, nice looking truck 👍

You just confirmed what I was planning to do because your paint job looks good, but the taping off is a failure. I have a 97 Ram in the same PW7 white and the peeling clearcoat. I went to Maaco for an estimate for a complete paint job and also chose their Urethane I/C paint. As we walked around the truck I pointed out that I will remove all the badging and emblems, the body side moulding, the grill, the antenna, the taillights, the bed rail caps, the cargo light, and the rear sliding window. And now, after seeing your video I may remove the side mirrors and loosen the door handles and tailgate handle also. My bed will not get painted as I did this last year andinstalled a bedliner. My concerns are they will still get overspray on the weatherstripping, my new inner fender wells, the tires, bumper covers, engine compartment, etc. I may have to ask to inspect the truck before it rolls into the booth. It's been a year, how is the paint job holding up????

Thanks for posting this video saved me a lot of future problems because I cannot do the major prep work and Maaco never advised me of that....red flag!!

$2,000.00 for a paint job is crazy. I had my car painted at Earl Schieb when I was younger and I only paid $29.95.

If that’s stock, that’s pretty quick! I think that’s right around 5 seconds to 60mph; give or take a little. Now I have to ask; what was the temperature, and humidity like? I own the same car; but in Florida it’s HOT and the humidity is HIGH! With that, it means that all surfaces are always damp and the engine is always “gulping” hot-wet air. My 0-60 times sucked!

Anyone that says the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 UHP is a good tire I cannot trust. The absolute worst tire I've ever purchased. Didn't even get 23k miles out of them.

On just about every TH-cam video about people getting paint jobs from Maaco almost everyone if not every one of the people complaining about every little minor thing that they can find wrong with their paint jobs but they only paid maybe two thousand dollars for their paint jobs. So they want a $10,000 paint job for two thousand dollars if not less and they want it done to perfection.

So you had this done in 2022? Did they have to also sand down the car beforehand? Or did they just cover everything with paint? I would be surprised if they sanded too because nowadays, the cost for sanding and painting at Maaco is $3500

I dont understand how they get away with this.....? I mean I understand the price and how people say you get what you pay for but that is bullshit.....

My 2019 z71 3.6 colorado does that to. The dealers around me keep giving me the ring around saying either they cant hear it or they say well thats normal bullcrap. It started around 15000 miles. If it was normal then why did it not do it before. I also have a problem with the gauge cluster having a high pitched noise coming from it when the screen comes on. The dealers r to old to hear it so im out of luck there to.
