Actually, both guns you showed on the table were P22Q. P22 came out in 2001/2002, and the Q model was released in 2011. Externally, the difference between original P22 and the Q model are grip texture, slide serrations went from half height to full height, 3-slot rail instead of one-slot, and the deletion of the internal lock on the right side of the frame. In other words, P22Q was made to look like the then hot selling PPQ, hence the "Q" in the name, even though the slide is still marked "P22". The captured recoil spring was not part of the changes in the P22Q original release. It came with the P22QD, released in 2017. After the QD model got discontinued, it stayed with the current crop of P22Q :)

I'm building my first Dagger, the lower just came in today. It will be very similar to this one of yours when it's put together. I'm stoked, thank you for the video, it's helpful to see it before I start assembly.

they have the same magazine... only the holes are different. if you pout the same hole on the gun, it will fit.. kindly review the internals if you can. the thickness, the metal quality, plastic quality etc..

I’m not getting a click every time I pull the trigger with the steel striker upgrade. I have to rack the slide every time. I looked at it and it appears the spring stop is staying depressed in the striker guide and not resetting. Wonder why… Does it need to be broken in? My plastic original clicks everytime while dirtier for some reason. I’m on a G3C

These are both great guns, but I can tell you that spring is a big deal, you can upgrade the one that flies across the room with a contained spring for about 20 bucks, I got mine on Amazon but it's easy to find almost anywhere I you need to do it, get it if you have that crappy spring because it's not just about the extreme convenience of the contained spring, it's about the reliability, I've never had a failure to feed with the upgraded spring. The gun never should have shipped without the contained spring. I love here how he's talking about a fixing the spring issue and that "nothing else jumps out at him" once he got that fixed with a replacement. Truer words were never spoken. If you lost faith or got tied of the cleaning hassle, you need to replace that spring and you'll feel like you just got a brand new gun, it's not a small improvement. I went on so long about this because it's such a great gun with the new spring and such a drag without it, also it's cheap as hell for a German gun part. Good luck and have fun with your new improved pistol. BTW, I have lot's of choice but I wouldn't hesitate for an instant to use this in a selfdefense situation. For one thing, if you do hesitate, it could be a bad day for you, but the .22 round is a really great round because the recoil is so small, you can get several shots off, on target faster than the bigger bore weapons, not just faster but on target. Many people struggle to get rounds on target and that's important. It makes no difference what gun or ammo you shoot in selfdefense events if you are not on target and first, that's the winner. You need to practice to find out what you shoot best with, you must choose the gun that works for you, first and accurate. Remember the S.F. in Israel choose and use the .22 Most gun battles are up close, within 3 feet, use only 3 shot and it's over in 3 seconds, most of the time. So prepare for every scenario but that one the most. Have fun..

I did the same thing and got all new lakeline parts. Then got a t.o.r.o slide to run red dot and suppressor height sights

Question?????? Can you just replace the guide, $19 for the Lakeline SS guide, and the spring for $3.50 and just use the stock striker. Lakeline wants $59.95 for the whole assembly and another $3.50 for the spring. The whole gun was only $199. Thoughts?

I bought the captured spring assembly from Midway USA for $30 dollars for my CA compliant P22. It's worth it to me. That spring is a pain.

I just watched your video and liked your suggestion of cleaning up the yellow plastic striker guide. I cannot believe what a difference that made. Didn't reduce trigger pull but boy o boy i cleaned up about a third of the mush before the break. I'll definitely be getting. The stainless guide. I also noticed the striker spring was binding up a but on the retainer cup under compression so I radiused those edges also.

Does the extended barrel cause any problems

I need some help! I just cleaned my FNX-9 and was reassembling it. I must have hit the take-down lever with my thumb and rotated it back up without noticing as I lined the slide and frame back up. (Had on glasses I almost never wear, usually on contacts and up-close vision is tough.) The slide is halfway on and jammed in place. I can't rotate the take-down lever back on place. Anyone ever have this?

Seriously? That tiny barrel groove will save no weight. +1/4” of barrel will add almost no velocity.

Good video bro, try polishing the striker block and trigger bar that touches the striker block, that will make it smooth also.😁
