Here's what happens if you let the timer run out in Chapter 2 of Paper Mario: TTYD.
For some reason Mario didn't fall asleep in the room where the Crystal Star was found, but he DID fall asleep in the item shop.
If the timer runs out while a shop menu is open it just closes when the timer hits 0.

They should have gone “GAME OVER” without Mario on the floor. Make it similar to Resident Evil.
To be honest 50 times at least 5 coins per inn is 250 coins and u only get about 200 and that’ll mean less if u sleep at other inns like poshley heights for example so this is cool but I don’t see the point if u get back barely any coins by the end of it

Not really, for the amount you have to pour in to stay 50 times, even with Rogueport's dirt cheap 5-coin fee, you're still losing money overall. Assuming you're not using an inn coupon.

I had no idea this was even a thing. I don't think I even stayed at an Inn even 10 times in a playthrough, let alone FIFTY! Those heart blocks, and free beds in places like the Glitz Pit, are too good.
I'm wondering. Are there even more secret cutscenes that dont end in an Game Over, to find? Stuff where you have to do some insane grinding to see them? Just like this? I mean, who will ever sleeo 50 times in this game for Real xD
If you fail the quiz in the X-Naut fortress, you get to fight 4 Z-Yuxes. How fun.
i failed in the x naut area and i only got 2!! instead of 4
Correction, it's 2 X-Yuxes (the red ones), not 4 Z-Yuxes (the black ones). Pretty cool though, since normally there's only one X-Yux in the entire game (in Grodus' throne room), and that's it, so at least it allows the player to fight more than one if you fail the quiz and forgot to tattle the singular one.

@@kennycarter5682 If you leave the fortress fully before beating that chapter, yeah. After beating the game, the X-Nauts are all gone, with only the Z-Yuxes on the moon itself staying.

@@sometf2player752 im pretty sure if this works anything like how it did in the original, *EVERY SINGLE PLAYER IN THE WHOLE WORLD* will need to spend 500 instead of the usual 10. I remember when a paper Mario youtuber I used to watch did this on the original, I checked my save file and happy lucky lottery was expensive and wanted 100 coins. This is why I'm afraid of people doing this, because I don't want to have my wallet broken to bits.
and now I'm never gonna be able to buy a happy lucky lottery ticket. If this works anything like in the original, happy lucky lottery tickets are gonna be A HUNDRED COINS FOR EVERY PLAYER.
Apparently this was in the original game and I never new about it until someone mentioned it was preserved in the remake. I saw a video how how it looked originally and man, the remake really did improve a lot in terms of the presentation, animations and expressions with this game. Also love that Luigi posed too while taking Mario's picture.
