Always remove the back seat and fully check it, don't know if you can find anything like drugs, if you do, turn it in at a police station, might seem overkill but you want a papertrail incase one day K9 smells your car and they rip the whole thing apart to find nothing

That's not a drain plug, it's a fill plug. Dude, the fluid in the PTU case goes a few inches below the plug. The fluid has to be sucked out.

About how many oz of oil did you fill the ptu with?

It is recommended to change the coolant as it breaks down and becomes corrosive eating your waterpump gasket. Tye waterpump has two seals. The first one get lesking and drips coolant on the groubd. If you notice your coolant tank low u have a waterpump leaking. Once the inner gasket gets eaten by corrosive coolant you get coolant in your oil and engine destroyed. Changing your coolant every 5 years or 100,000 miles saves your waterpunp gaskets

I had to end up using an inductive magnetic heater to heat my O2 sensor cherry red as my 1200ft lb air wrench could not budge it. I busted a 1/2” impact u-joint trying to bust it out. The inductive heater was a great buy - especially since my 2016 3.7 PIU was an ex Ohio police vehicle and the amount of road salt corrosion is insane.

how do you like these tires? i usually hate goodyear in general but these are used by law enforcement i can’t imagine they are anything less then made well

I'll need a car in Memphis for about 3-4 months, and I noticed that the local Grieco Ford here in Fort Lauderdale had about a dozen used police Explorers for sale. One was a '14 with 133k miles on the clock and it looked decent. They wanted $12k for the car, I figured I could work them down a bit but got some blowback from the significant other, since I have an airport car already [2001 Subaru Outback with the H6 engine, 114k miles] that I used here in FLL on top of a '14 Cayman S which is my daily. Tires don't wear unevenly. Misaligned suspensions cause tire wear. And l feel the same. Sure it costs a little more than a regular Explorer to maintain, but driving it is such a blast. She's worth it.

You should not use thread lock here. This plug has an NPT (tapered) thread so teflon tape of thread sealing compound should be used. Do not over tighten. Apply Brake clean after plug installation to avoid getting Brake clean inside the differential...5:06

These units do not have a drain plug. The plug you refer to is the fill plug. Removal of the back cover is the proper way to change the fluid. 0:11
