RIU VALLARTA | NIRVANA ASIAN RESTAURANT FOOD TOUR
Quick video of the Nirvana Asian Restaurant at Riu Vallarta. It is one of four specialty restaurants. The restaurant is conveniently located right next to the Kulinarium Restaurant.
We were seated right away as the restaurant was not anywhere near full.
This restaurant is entirely a buffet style experience. You pick a little bit of each and then go back for more of the items that tasted okay to you. Just be aware that the signage of the food items did not always coincide with the item. We don't have any food allergies or sensitivities so it was fine for us. To be honest even when the signs are placed correctly, the actual item didn't really resemble what the item should be. Peking duck wasn't really Peking duck. Tom Yum Soup tasted like vegetable soup. Yakisoba was not Yaki nor Soba. You get my point. If you know your authentic Asian cuisine, you will be disappointed. We ate a bit but intentionaly left room to eat at the normal buffet later that night.
Overall, I score the food 5/10 and I rank it as the 4th best specialty restaurant out of the 4.

I'm just curious, is this part of the all inclusive or do you have to pay at the restaurants at the resort
Riu Vallarta is all inclusive
I have always wanted to go here but kids are young and I really want to do the actual hike with wolves. I guess I'll have to wait until they are both 14! But its such a great place and I love the whole premise behind it! :)
How this kids club work ? You leave your kids in there like a daycare ?
Pretty much. You have to register when you get on the ship and then leave your kids there to do activities when you want some time away from your kids.
That’s was years ago! Not the same now in 2023!!!! Smaller portions and not same quantity! Sad but true !
Is the sofa bed a pull out? Does it need to be set up or is it just a sofa that has bedding on top of it
It's a pull out. If I remember right, the room attendant has to put bedding on it.
Beautiful dining room, but those chairs are packed way too close together. I would have to reserve a small table in advance.
I didn't know they have jazz music in the dining room.
Not every night. On some nights, there were nothing.

Where is the 4th bed?
Not all staterooms has it. The bed for the 4th person would come down from the ceiling.

It was soooooo good! I don't think I have ever had a bad prime rib on Royal Caribbean cruises!

NCL has queen size beds in their balcony staterooms that can be pull apart to form 2 twin size beds.

Royal Tyrrell Museum is one impressive museum. You can easily spend a half day here. Have you been to this museum? What do you think is the most impressive thing there? If you have not been there before, will you visit this museum the next time you are in Southern Alberta?

The prices on the wine recommendation part of the menu are by the bottle. A separate wine menu lists all available wine for purchase by the glass or by the bottle. 🍷

Royal Caribbean's meals are great most of the time. Even when it's not, the waiters do what they can to make it right!😛😛😛
Very small portions like snack size.
Look on the bright side, smaller portions give you the opportunity to order more than one appetizer, entrée, and dessert! Yum! 😋😋😋😋

Hi Alanna! We didn't like the potstickers either. They weren't executed that well. There are definitely other better options on the menu than the potstickers. 🤤

Tip: DO NOT go to the buffet on embarkation day. Go to one of the complimentary sit down restaurants. Your life will be much easier for having done it.
Thanks for the tip. It is also highly dependent on when you board the ship. We were early enough that it wasn't that busy, but can see the place filling up later in the afternoon.
You are so right.....buffet looks like a zoo for the blind on embarkation day....can be funny watching the virgin cruisers filling their plates to overflowing...
