To imagine, Naira is now $1/1560!
Shocking, isn't it?
A house built with N35m in 2021/2022 will cost over N70m now
How many concrete blocks up to the roofing level?
13 courses from dpc to ro9f level. Although, you can still use 12 courses
Total of about 4,650 blocks. You can watch the full video here: th-cam.com/video/KORIW8mMgAE/w-d-xo.html
Thank you so much
@@civilworks826 let me have a look
@majormzumara-gm1ny You're welcome
Well articulated explanation, good job!
Perfect in cacuation were perfect😮
Thanks!
If we calculate in feets, different quantities coming... shall we calculate in feets or in meters
It doesn't matter which one, as long as you're consistent with the units, the result will be the same
Thanks for the video.. ❤️👍 How much cubic of concrete mix would I require for slab.. W 2.4m x L 5.8m x 0.1 m
Good presentation dear engineer
Thank you
Nice detailed video...thanks.
Nice one
So interesting
Thanks
Perfect ur calculations where perfect
Thanks!
Why have you not included rebar?
There's actually rebar, i.e., reinforcement baskets. The video just didn't show it. You can see the column starter bars though
How much ll a bungalow i.e 5 bedrooms apartments cost in Asaba,Delta State
Hard to put an actual figure since there's no drawing to quantify from. My estimate will be N35m - N40m
This video is exactly what I need to know, but still don't, kindly assist, 22 meters, in length, 600 cm in width, and 10cm in height, footer for my block wall, M25 concrete recommended, 1: 2:2 ratio, I think, how many cement (50kg bags) how many wheels barrows sand, and stone?
Very simple to understand
Thanks
You no longer post sir you have amazing contents hope to see new videos soon
Yes, it's been a hectic period as I try to combine work with posting content. Anyway, thanks for reaching out. I will be resuming regular posting soon. 👍

Glad you found the video useful. Don't forget to share!
Quite Informative and Educative piece on cost reduction without quality compromise
Thanks
Quite Informative and Educative.
Thanks
this is very informative, really cost effective. and very simple to build.
Thanks. Glad you liked the video
Thanks and God bless you for this video sir
You're welcome
I need your number
This is my first time on your page. I really learnt a lot. Can you make a video for residential building of a room and palour self contain of 5 unit please?
Promo`SM 🙋
I believe the price varies due to cities, this costs are forPH, maybe lower in Niger state or in Abuja. Am I right?
Yes, at the time of construction, especially labour costs
Fantastic video! Gave me the needed information in an unforgettable way. Kudos 👏
Glad you liked the video.
thank you can you dfo videos on rigid pavements in the Nigeria context most the videos on youtube are for asians
Glad you liked the video. I've actually thought of doing a video on rigid pavements. Soon
Nice video, I am planning to build a 4 bedroom bungalow by this year September from start to finish like how much I we looking at?
Where is the site located? Have you prepared the drawings/building plans?
Extremely informative, though I was waiting to hear the quantities of materials that went into this project. For example, Rod/size with specifications like 16 mm, 12 mm, 10 mm, 8 mm etc. In addition to that, number of wood and plank including their sizes. Furthermore, I would like to see other video clips of yours on 3 bedroom duplexes. Thanks a bunch!
I'm glad you liked the video. Omitting the exact specs for rebars:Y16, Y12, etc, was deliberate. Truth is, these material quantities and specifications will vary from project to project, and I didn't want to narrow it down. I just wanted to establish the final cost (including the cost per m2) of the building. However, if you have a building that the architectural and structural drawings have been prepared, i can give you an approximate material breakdown for it. Thanks for watching!
Can you build for someone in ibadan?
I can arrange a team to build in Ibadan. I worked in Ibadan years back on the BAT factory near the toll gate, and some of my colleagues are still there. I'm based in Abuja, though
It will also depend on the size of the project
Nice job sir
Thanks!
Good presentation. Can u make presentations for other aspects of building construction like plastering, roofing etc
Thanks for the compliment. And for the suggestion, I'll look into it.
How can you calculate for current concrete rate which can be used for quotation.
The price of concrete will depend on the price of the constituent materials (sand, chippings, water, cement) as well as the desired grade (C15, C20, C25 etc), cost of equipments (mixer, poker vibrator) and the cost of labour. You will agree that the rate will not be uniform across the country
However, using the slab in the video, a rate breakdown per cubic meter of concrete can be thus; 1. Cement: 6.3 bags x 8,000 = 50,400 2. Sand : 0.7 tons x 6,500 = 4,550 3. Gravel : 1.3 tons x 8,500 =10,400 4. Water: = 500 5. Equipment (mixer, etc) = 5,000 6. Labour = 10,000 7. Overhead and profit:@20%= 16,170 8. Total cost per m3: = 97,020.
1.95 is that volume of cement ?
Yes
Actually 1.98 m3
@@civilworks826 thank you for the video it’s immensely helpful
@@SARA00151 You're welcome
Thanks for helping others God bless your home.
Thanks. Glad you liked the video
Does it include labour?
Yes
Amazing amazing work! With the high cost of living and inflation currently. I would appreciate it if an updated video could be done. I'm assuming it'd be double what was used last year to this year
Yes, I assume so, too. The idea behind the videos is to use actual projects and real values. Presently, I don't have a bungalow construction at hand. There's a duplex ongoing now. Hopefully, when the project has advanced, I'll make a video from it. Thanks for watching!
Engr sir, it seem like there's too much reinforcement in the beam, will the concrete be able to properly fill the beam?
Yes, the reinforcements are quite a lot, but it's not more than the permissible area. To enable proper flow of concrete around the bars, the maximum aggregate size was 12mm
Wahala🙆🏼♂️
Nature vs man!
As much as I recognize the influence of the location and the type of land, the cost of the materials as indicated are far from the reality in PH. It has cost me more than N50m to achieve the carcass of my 7 bedroom and two sitting areas Duplex in Finima the Bonny LGA of Rivers state. The stone coated roofing sheets of 700m cost about N6.5m in PH. Cost of labour for plastering alone was N2.4m Not to talk about the cost of 6 trucks of sharp sand and 3 trucks of Gum sand for the plastering of the building. The cost of building any type of house here in Bonny Island is three times the cost compared to the same building in PH. To build the 9 feet deep by 6ft soak.away and 6ft by 3ft soak away for the gate house is taking me 35 lengths of 16mm rod, 60 length of 12mm and 60 length of 10mm rods.smd 15.tons of concrete Two separate Soak-away. All to be casted
Wow! I really appreciate the breakdown of your projects. I'm sure a lot of viewers in the comment section will benefit from this. But the building is not actually in PH, it's in Abuja. The construction was done between 2021 and 2023
This cost estimation is totally incorrect . The cost of the raft foundation for a 6bedroom Duplex in my hometown on Bonny Island was .N19.6m
You have a point, but you are totally off point, too! 😃. This building is not in Bonny Island. It's not a raft foundation. It's also not a 6 bedroom duplex. Like I said in the video, the cost of a building depends on many factors, and I can't doubt the 6 bedroom duplex in Bonny at N19.6m. In fact, I designed and supervised the library building in FPOG, Bonny, and the foundation was over N32m. The breakdown in this video was the actual costs during construction. Of course, at today's rates, it will close to double what was spent. Thanks for watching!
Waste of time. Useless stories without financials. You do not build houses with stories. Show the financials
Waste of time?? Sorry you think so. A lot of viewers think otherwise, though. The house was not built with stories but with money. You want to see the BOQ? Or what financials exactly?
😂 Tinubu regime don take this one brain 🧠 away. You want to say you're broke and watching. Estimate wey dey give us Joy. Better delete your comment before people start thinking you ran away from psychiatric hospital 🏥😂.
lol, make another video for the lay man, tell them how many bags of cement, how many head pans of sand and gravel is needed to make a slab of dpc. That will make more sense to a lay man. Thanks
Hmmm...you have a point there. I'll include that in one of my next videos. 👍
❤❤❤
Engr. What a very informative and educative video. You would be doing us a great service if you could share contact information of other trusted professionals from your network I.e drafters, architects, structural engineers, masons, plumbers, electricians etc.
Thanks. I'm just trying to put useful information out there. I'll be willing to assist any of my audience in any way I can. I really appreciate the encouragement
Thanks for the video I love it
