Post Surgical PT: Spinal Fusion/Scheuermanns Disease
Included in this video are the exercises that I did immediately post op and for the first 8 weeks. The exercises get progressively harder in each section (Abs, Shoulders, and Hips), so go through them slowly and at your own pace!
Disclaimer: This video is based on my lived experience, research, and knowledge of physical therapy/recovering from surgery. All of the exercises I preform were given to me by a trained and certified physical therapist. I, however, am not a medical doctor, and the individuals who evaluated me have not had a chance to evaluate you. Please proceed with caution and consider consulting your medical professionals.

I am supposed to be 5'2 but I stand at 4'10. Quit growing one year before it was caught, so 40 years later, here I am. Kudos to you, be well!!

    Hey Michael, thank You for leaving such a detailed vídeo about Your post op experience. I'm about to get a 11 level fusion myself and thou i'm completely convinced to get the surgery, it scares the hell out of me hahaha. It's not easy to get videos of detailed Post op experiences so thanks a Lot. Man, i'm a doctor myself and I can't imagine being able to get MJ in My Center haha, would love that. Do u feel it was worth it and can u run and feel as athletic before

    • @michaelfiddle214
      @michaelfiddle214 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Worth it- 1000000% I am still in the early stages of recovery and have not been given the clearance to run because of the pounding to the fusion which hasn’t set yet. I’ve jogged a few steps on the snow so it was soft landing, and it feels good! I am working out and going to the gym- I can do 5 miles on a bike fairly easily already and can lift but not too heavy yet. I feel fantastic when I do these things, physically and a huge boost of confidence mentally too

    • @michaelfiddle214
      @michaelfiddle214 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gabrielmalliakas6435 different doctors have different opinions on age and it depends on your curve and images. I know people who have had it done in their 50s, and know others in their 30s who were told not to because of age. The younger the better for your recovery. Talk to a doctor about your specific case and your reasons for and against surgery
