Why I Left Canada and Moved to Thailand
มุมมอง 9Kหลายเดือนก่อน
I want to share my story on why I sold everything in Toronto, Canada and moved to Bangkok, Thailand to start a new life. The warm climate, vibrant culture, and lower cost of living were major factors in my decision. I was drawn to Thailand’s dynamic pace of life and the chance to explore its rich traditions, diverse cuisine, and beautiful landscapes. Moving also allowed me to pursue personal gr...

Hope all goes well
Hi, thanks for the video! How can I contact the property? I’m interested in a one month stay. Thanks again 🎉
As a fellow Vietnamese (American) thinking of doing the same, appreciate your perspective. Not sure what you do for income, but regarding your Thai visa renewal, you should look up something fairly new called a "digital nomad visa." If you can get it, it's good for 5 years. Also interested in your thoughts of living in Vietnam vs Thailand, after you complete your next arc.
wow she speaks korean so well~~~~!❤
She’s very good!
yay~~ i am from korea~~~ ❤
I’ll check out a few of those cafes !
Yes you will love them!
Hey I wanna speak to you how can I contact you?
Ever since Covid I just shut down, life sucks esp in the winter.
Time to make some big moves for 2025!
welcome yo
It's my goal to move to Thailand, once i figure out how to make money remote im out of Ontario
Welcome to Thailand krub.
Wait until summer
Enjoyed your clip. Good luck with your journey!
Ahh. Excited for your border hop destination. Wonder if you’re going to film there too!
You betcha, stay tuned!
You did well living Canada in the winter time enjoy your adventure in Asia Thailand is one of the best countries I just love it I was there 20 times I live in Cyprus a beautiful small island in the Mediterranean Sea a place you have to visit after your tour in Asia I live in Limassol google it now the temperature is 20 Celsius above its just beautiful
I lived in Vancouver for 28 yrs, moved to pattaya for 2 yrs now and just wish that I could made my decision earlier cuz pattaya has everything that I really need where Canada couldn’t provide
Nice my brother! I’m commenting while you are talking about the next stage! Of your journey. To where your parents are from - Vietnam - the Saigon journey. I’m happy to hear you will be exploring your literal roots, from where you came. I’m happy to hear your calm and slow adjustment and description of your first 3 months in. Bangkok. My own connection. To Thailand is thru a woman who lives here in America ( in California / northern / sf bay ) and is Thai. She married a Vietnamese American man almost 30 years ago and they had two children. I am Caucasian and first went with her to Thailand in 2011 I believe and then o think 6 more times. We are still connected though not living together at the moment and I will always be family with her family in Thailand. I am a lover of the world culture and language and am so thank ful for Thai culture coming into my life. And thank you for sharing your life. Ryan
Really appreciate the love and thank you for sharing your story!
Im from ksa and have been to Thailand like a million times It's a beautiful country and everything but in recent years there is some hate against forginers and prices keeps increasing non-stop, many things are wayyyyy more expensive than my country For anyone moving to Thailand keeps your money in other countries (either home country or offshore), same with investments (stocks/etf/bonds).....❤
Can I live comfortably in thailand on 3800usd monthly after tax? Im single without kids
Yes you would live quite well with that amount monthly!
@@SlickVo thank you for the content and feedback 🙏
You don't have to be rich to live in Thailand. That's a really good thing. The condo in Thailand is only about 150,000 USD and you get the one that is close to the skytrain, shopping mall, and university. If you can make more than 1700 USD a month then you will have a really good time in Bangkok.
welcome to Thailand brother. enjoy!
Hiya are your prices per month or for the 3 months ? Thanks
per month!
You are here as a retiree?
Nope I am currently a digital nomad!
Welcome to Thailand 🎉🎉🎉🎉
your editing is getting better and better
I like how you put subtitles in both English and Thai ......... we need more updates
Im on it fam!
I sold 2 guitars a and 6 vinyl records today, i'm moving to Thailand next year!
Hey dude, are you getting many massages with happy endings?
Thai massages are really good! Everyone always happy after the massages!
Welcome to Thailand and enjoy your life here. Cheers
Do you have an online job ? Nice vid !
Question man. I lived in Bangkok from 2011 to 2013 with my thai gf. But she was the one who rented the house. I now plan to move to bangkok in a few months and arrive with a tourist visa. Can i rent an appartment on a tourist visa? Because i want accomodation as soon as i arrive. Im already looking for it now.
I believe if you want to rent an apartment or condo, it has to be 30 days at least even for Airbnb. You should be fine if you staying for a few months.
It is not surprising that Bangkok is nowadays New York City of Asia, because Ayutthaya (which was once the capital of “the Empire of Ayutthaya”, which was called “Siam” by most foreigners, including most French people) in the Ayutthaya Period was as prosperous as Paris. The television series 'Sri Ayodhaya' - Part 1: th-cam.com/video/BfrwQPr4I0M/w-d-xo.html Part 2: th-cam.com/video/AVTyYy5Etf0/w-d-xo.html Suchart Na Bangxang; PhD (France), MSc (Virginia Tech, USA)
Yes there are quite a lot of similarities with NYC. I will be sure to check out the TV series when I get the time too! Thanks for sharing that.

Oh wow I did not know that. Thank you for sharing this info. I will check out the TV series when I have time. Sounds very fascinating!
I’m Canadian from Toronto now living abroad since 2019 and I would never go back especially what happened in recent few years! I reside in Philippines now but I have lived in Thailand, Vietnam and Philippines past few years and my choice of staying in the Philippines mostly due to everyone speaking English unlike other two countries tries where you must learn local language. Infrastructure is the only big minus.
Congrats on living abroad! Yes I heard Philippine's is very nice and friendly. They being able to speak good English does make things much easier for sure!
I'm from southern Ont and can easily say that BKK is exponentially better than Toronto. It's not even close. Then again, I've always hated T.O, so I'm not the most objective person to ask.
The weather is not the greatest in Bangkok too , it’s hot like hell and never pleasant , only in the morning. Otherwise it’s sweltering heat All Year Round
How much for the healthcare?
Good luck on your journey man! We’re thinking about moving from Canada (near Toronto) to Malaysia soon as well. ✌🏻 🌴
Thank you! Hope your dreams come true and you make the move to Malaysia! All the best!
Welcome to Bangkok. Enjoy your stay!
Narrow mind in Toronto, absolutely, but not in Montreal. You definitely never been to Montreal I could tell. Im from USA las Vegas went to study at McGill University and I loved Montreal, sorry but Toronto sucks, since then I'm in Thailand since 2016 and won't go back to USA until Trump's gone
I've been to Montreal maybe 10 times now. I have many friends there since its only a 5 hour drive. Love the poutine and the vibe there. It can be colder in MTL sometimes but I do like snowboarding in Tremblant.
Vietnam is cheaper than Thailand and nightlife is so affordable so you tend to spend more 😄
I love canada and have lived in Thailand , in bangkok now, so love both 😊 put me in the boat of live in both countries. Regarding cost, in canada i live alberta and not that big a cost difference when adding everything in.
I have some friends moving from Ontario to Alberta to start their new lives!
I would not suggest you advertise your visa option situation too much. I have been working in Thailand for a long time and I have friends working in immigration and every once in a while they look around in forums and TH-cam to catch people. They can get a "bonus" for catching people doing visa runs. I would just suggest to get a legitimate visa long term.long are the days of immigration looking the other way.
Love the hook in the beginning. Congrats on your 1000 subscribers 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks so much! I appreciate all the support! 🙏
Happy to be your 1,000th subscriber today. Nice to see your video. Visit Philippines too someday.
Appreciate the support! It means a lot. I will add the Philippines to the list of places to visit since I only heard good things! 🙏
DTV visa will improve your better life in Thailand. 😂😂😂
America is soul sucking...people are in a stupor of cultural and intellectual nullity...it is an excersize in social distancing BEFORE covid 29
I moved from Canada a year and a half ago I love Thailand. You’re right the cold weather and the prices of everything made me move. Keep safe enjoy.
What part of Canada? I'm from Newfoundland and got 2 years left before I make the move, but I've saved a whole lifetime for and im coming permanently
Must be a nice feeling to be surrounded by faceless clowns that still wear masks in bunches even in 2025 lol. Nothing like being served food by spineless cowards in masks. Only mentally weak people that can't make it in the first world move here. All because the level of competition here is low. Real people are tough enough to make it in the first world. You have a weak mentality. Toronto doesn't have weak and spineless people walking around in masks and they sure as heck doesn't have any 'fully masked staffs' restaurants. I'm sure you are shivering at becoming the 51st State lol. Very weak indeed.
