THFC FANS - 1977 (v Bristol Rovers)
On the terraces and on the pitch...
Fans celebrating the 9-0 win against Bristol Rovers.
Incidentally, the choice of music used is only because it was a Terrace Chant during
that 1977-8 Season, rather than as a celebration of winning Division 2.

The shoe was on the other foot 3 times for PedroMendes's team's at OldTrafford he favoured from decisions with 2 occasions resulting in Mendes winning a ChampionsLeague with Porto (2004) & FAcup with Portsmouth (2008) both of which should've and would've been ManUtd winning the competitions instead looking at the easy routes (another FAcup tie in 2007 ManUtd won but it should've been 4-1 not 2-1 two wrongly disallowed goals for ManUtd 1 of which when PedroMendes tried to clear off the line but it did cross the line but Vidic still wasn't awarded the goal) and the only 1 out of 4 controversial games involving PedroMendes's teams at OldTrafford that went ManUtd's way (this game) was a meaningless game for both teams as proven in the final table 2004/05.

I was at this game, my first Tottenham Hotspur game, I'd been to Ipswich and Colchester but my now sadly departed Dad went with about 10 Spurs mates and his one QPR mate. I was 8 & a half, wasn't brilliant game but one of my favourite childhood memories. Loved the yellow kit, don't make enough yellow kit anymore. Great memories COYS 🤍💙💛⚽🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿☮️

I wonder, if we had a position like this season just finished (2023/24)... Chelsea needing a win to stop Arsenal being champions--could have 2:0 to Chelsea!!

It's not a shocker because it's MartinAtkinson the shock for me was that he was at the centre-circle about to referee the game because even at that point it was obvious for ages he was corrupt in favour of Chelsea but pretty much anyone else and it would be a shocking decision (even after this he failed to send off Cech for last man foul when Spurs still have a chance to get back into the game). 5 cup semi-finals for Chelsea (all Chelsea wins), plus a last game of a PL season they needed to win to win the league controversially, an FAcup QF replay, loads of important PL games vs another big club where Chelsea need to win so he makes sure they do, not to mention refereeing games that don't involve Chelsea but he deliberately favours the weaker team so a favourite can be knocked out so Chelsea become clear favourites i.e Portsmouth away to ManUtd 2008 he just couldn't prevent Barnsley from knocking out Chelsea that particular day but anyway he wouldn't retire until 10 whole years after this 2012 incident (not get sacked, shamed, charged etc...retire himself) retired funnily enough when Abramovic left Chelsea as well 🤔

Loved the lane and the shelf - I’m a Derby fan and never saw us lose there in 4 games 70s 80s 90s and early 2000’s I guess I picked the lucky games 3 wins and a draw - I worked in 84 in the Paxton selling programmes and saw the UEFA cup win ! Great days - dangerous but fun !

Never seen this before , this is so eerie when you then see 89 , how on earth were lessons not learned , why was Hillsborough continued to be used as a semi final ground when obviously the away could not hold the supporters safely ,, for a normal league game I bet very few away fans filled the end. Anyone who knows a football crowd and how it surges back and forth knows you don't then allow more people in , its common sense but it's also knowledge fans have , it shows to me that the people in charge back then had no interest in football and had never experienced a full end of a stadium, and that lack of care and knowledge led to a tragedy

Not a great game, quite boring really! I suppose after the Spurs v Man City FA Cup Final replay the previous year it was never going to live up to that. Great memories travelling up to Wembley for the game then coming back to Bournemouth and then back up the following morning at 6am to queue up for replay tickets!!! 🙈

Martin Jol is such a class act. Always loved when he was coaching Tottenham. He's a good sport despite it being obvious that the ball was well over the line. Linesman and referee with extremely poor decision making. Man Utd fan Carroll was known for making dumb mistakes constantly. Tottenham robbed of victory.

I was 15 at the time, we got in the ground early and headed into the middle pen, behind the goal. As kick of time got closer, the pen started to become overs crowded, and very frightening. I didn’t touch the ground for what seemed an eternity, l lost both my shoes and the mates I travelled up with on a coach from the post office at mount pleasant in London. It was only when the spurs fans started to climb the barriers onto the pitch or were lifted into the seats behind us did they finally open a gate and allow the crush to ease. I never mentioned it to my family when I got home as I didn’t want to stopped from going to away games in the future. No lessons were learned, the tragedy that followed in 89 should have been everted. , all for the sake of supporting your team.
