While footwork off all dancers was lovely to watch, their arms were absolutely disgraceful. In my day I would be penalised and rightly so.

The dresses have changed so much since I finished competing in 1997 and finally retiring in 1999 due to a significant back injury. I don't remember this kind of thing being part of the Victoria Championships and I had been to many in my 15 year career.

Most of the boy's technique was so bad, if I was their teacher I wouldn't let them into championships

Why do the girls dress like 'toilet-roll covers' from the 1970's? It just goes to show that having bilateral arm paralysis needn't stop one from dancing, is there a dance-version of the para-olympics these poor, disabled kids could compete in? Perhaps they should be given hair-staighteners rather than arm-straighteners as a prize.

Just to clarify for those who aren't sure - Ceili is the second last dancer, the one in the black dress with white skirt. She also won the 2014 world championships. The second one to dance came 2nd at worlds this year and the girl after Louise has retired now but came 10th at the 2013 worlds. It is an an coimisiun competition held in Melbourne each year and is open to anyone in the world to attend.
