Started going to an ENT clinic to fix my deviated septum. Happened when I was a kid about 10 either I bashed my face into the bleachers at school playing relay races or got hit in the face with a baseball. Regardless, I've known that the issue has been a deviated septum as my bone/cartilage is sticking out of my left nostril quite substantially. First visit the physician prescribes me nasal sprays and amoxicillin for some reason. Next visit we discuss the results of my sleep test which came up as very mild sleep apnea. Which obviously if my deviated septum is as severe as he said, then that would most likely be the case. Just went in for a CT scan and honestly just confused from the whole experience. It's either A. A turbinate reduction (at least I think that physician didn't give me a name for the procedure) or B. A Rhinoplasty which he referred me to a plastic surgeon. Why not just recommend a septoplasty in the first place since that is literally the procedure for a deviated septum?

not quite right. Platysmaplasty usually takes more than 5-6 weeks to heal. During this time you will have numbness, swelling and moderate discomfort while eating/speaking. It’s a big surgery and you can’t go back to work in 5 days

Empty nose syndrome

In my early 30's, deviated septum since I was 5. Can barely breathe out of one side now, always dry, always get bloody noses, get out of breath easily. Hopefully I can finally get this fixed.

the problem with the ponytail lift is that excess skin bunches up against your ear, making a nasty fold that actually looks bigger than a would-be scar had a regular facelift were to be done.

I’ve always breathed through my nose but last few years I’ve had serious problems with my sinuses, wake up foggy and awful migraines so took the plunge for surgery and have it booked next week! Hope everyone is on the mend and will come back and post an update if helpful x

Women is who we are curious about, bring up trans causes you to lose credibility. We all know men that cut their genitals off have Adams apples. I'm going to now search for a 2nd opinion.

My 2 year old had a cut on her forehead and in the ED an adhesive bandage was put on her. It was supposed to come off on its own but it didnt after a month and so I used adhesive remover to take it off and it looks like there is raised hypertrophy on both sides of the cut, because it couldn’t heal over with the scab stuck in place. Do you have any recommendation on what I can do to help her heal with the minimum scaring?

I'm on day three now since surgery & feeling just a tad bit better & not as much bleeding. Thank God for hydrocodone & also marijuana gummies. The pain is intermittent, and at times it feels like an intense pressure on one's face. Getting stoned has really helped with pain, more so than hydrocodone.

I fugured this out because my sinus hurt but it was so weird to me that only one side of my face was having a sinus issue and I realized the other was completely fine like my head was sore on that side and runny but the other side was clear. Overtime I realised it was always that same side with the issues and I noticed when I layed facing a speciifc side all the mucus trapped would suddenly move and allow me to breathe on my bad nose its so odd.

So, in other words, it's bullshit

Don't go picking your nose all the time & you won't ever need this surgery.

I've had 2 surgeries so far and somehow, it has returned. I am beginning to give up on surgeries. My doctors have no solution and my insurance doesn't cover a plastic surgeon :(

When someone’s explaining something to me, I want them to look at me, not 2 different angles.

it's a nose type. as long as it doesn't interfere with breathing functions, it doesn't need "fixing." take your plastic surgery bait bs elsewhere.

I have constant sinus problem and I have devated spectrum doctors recommend me to have a surgery but I don't have a breathing problem. I just constant sinus that goes away a bit than comes back. is surgery worth it ?

My scars widened and are super visible after 7 months

Im doing the ballon treatment.But no turbinate reductions of any kind. Ive reserched them all. In the next few weeks. Im also moving from location that started my not being able to breath good.

I heard now as part of the package u stay there for two weeks to a month n the surgery center has suites like a resort youstay in for post op care n healing to ensure ur okay. The other issue is even with insurance it’s so expensive in the US it’s criminal!!!! For me to get a deviated symptom corrected. I have to pay the surgeon 4 grand then the hospital from $4k to 18,000 which I won’t even know the price till after the procedure. If I want to get the small bump on the bridge of my nose corrected, that’s another 8000 to the surgeon. I live in south jersey 10 minutes from Philly n it would be at Cooper hospital in Camden Nj. When I had state insurance because I didn’t have a job, the deviated septum was absolutely zero cost to me. From what I know the insurance companies are more at fault than the physicians either way western medicine and first world countries is out of control with the pricing

I developed ENS from turbinate surgery. It was ‘minimally invasive’. Every second of my life is unfathomable agony. Don’t do it.

What about if there is a wound

My septum was so fucked up it was in the shape of a C and the doc said it was causing breathing problems on both sides. Threw me off.

i feel so manly and gross being 5'7 and having a big forehead + roman nose. im cis female and hate being perceived as masculine or stronger because of my looks. i am very delicate and feminine inside but feel i have to put on this charade that im stronger than i am because its what others assume.

Mainstream woman have an Adam’s apple because most of them are men or inverts (born both)

Where are you located

It’s week 4 from having both these surgeries and I feel like I’m suffocating. Any ideas why?
