A Tribute Edit to the insane "Ravine Gap", wich was removed from the Redbull Hardline course for safety reasons. This must be the scariest Feature in Mountainbiking to this day. Bernard Kerr, Matt Jones and Jim Monro were the only three absolute Savages to gap this Thing. Jim crashed on his attempt, but remained mostly uninjured. Not surprised RedBull organizers remove this feature as simply too dangerous. If a rider mess up there is no safety plus their insurance won't support this. We already saw what happened with Matt Jones puncture. Any mechanical coming down that ramp and not even RedBull wings will save you
This is true. It makes this jump even more special now, knowing only three people ever attempted it!
Well they built it wrong. Look at the transition. Huge preload dip right before takeoff? Asking for exactly what happened to happen. Who is building these ramps? Told my buddy 2 days before it happened. "Someone gonna get bucked off that lip. Hope they make it across." Luckily he did and didn't get launched too far left. It was setup so you had to be left basically. Setup for disaster. 95% someone was falling if they didn't remove it.
