Massage for a Leg Length Inequality: THIS is what your clients need!
มุมมอง 4189 หลายเดือนก่อน
So very many people come to my clinic with lower back and hip problems, or neck and shoulder issues. Right? Isn't that what you see the most? One hip is higher, and often then one shoulder is higher. T...

Groundbreaking Science About Fascia and Back Pain
Thanks so much for posting this video. Much needed, was not taught this at my school and a year in, my back feels it. Will make suggested changes!
as a new therapist, this is super helpful! they didn't teach us this in massage school!
The best for people with VSS👏👏👏👏👏
You are amazing teacher with amazing calming energy!
Your English is very clear and understandable to the hear
Thank you
Gain the trust of the nervous system - that's on the table. Thank you for this insight! It truly makes me look at my clients differently and shows how I'll approach bodywork.
Wonderful!
Thank you for this. Will you please make a video for body mechanics for effleurage?
This is excellent, so helpful, thank you both!
Hello, Your video helped me a lot to correct my posture. Thanks to you, no more pain in my shoulders :)
I watch videos of people getting massages because I have insomnia and it helps me sleep sometimes. Usually I just google “back massage” and click a random one, which was how I stumbled across this video. I really love these ones with anatomical description; I studied anatomy/physiology. Also, your studio is less than a mile from my house!
Thank you for the share. Amazing pointers ❤ a new sub here. Hopefully to see more active posts ❤
Yes! More is coming...
I wasn't expecting tuck a librel drape on the glutes! I'm still a student and my instructors are very conservative with draping
I am new LMT almost one year of experience. my shoulder and arm is not in perfect condition and my index finger and thumb has numbness. I think my wrist is fine. I don't feel like I can performe like when I started. but do you think it's just time for me to change how I do it? or in this state is it ok for me to touch patient?
HI there. This often happens when the table is up too high. That numbness can come from the scalenes all the way up in the neck. You can check out the playlist on my sister channel, FreeBody and Cat Matlock, all about this issue. You'll want to release your own trigger points but you also want to lower your table (perhaps) so you can sink in and use your body weight. You might be using too much strength and not enough body weight. Here's a link to that other channel... th-cam.com/channels/Jrnl0PJGEFuraXRUl_UROA.html
And here's a link to that playlist specifically: th-cam.com/play/PLeUOyQlTXjrudLDH3skW0ReTa7EuiWmSM.html&si=1BwkfH5zc9BShZ_L
@@freebodymassage Thank you so much. I care about lowering the table but I think what I am doing is not low enough for me to have good biomechanics.
@@lovelove-kk4lp It takes time to dial that in. And when you have a stationary table that doesn't move up and down, you have to find a middle ground level. Low enough to use your body weight but high enough so that you can stand up sometimes! I get the dilemma. That's why I got an electric table. But my table was just above my knees for 20 years before that. I literally work neck and shoulders while kneeling on the floor for many years
@@freebodymassage I work at chiropractic office and they have electric table.
I see trigger points in a much different way. th-cam.com/video/ccdgsAv8HOY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=GHIqeOPTKR1cBJWv

Amazing!! Do you have any videos on how to do this on ourselves?!! That would be amazing if I could do this myself!! I have a really bad scm!!!
Yes I do! I have an entire self care channel devoted to these sorts of things. Here's the SCM video" th-cam.com/video/pikIi_5Jjfw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=RqirMDetQQyTdTsy
Can you do a hamstring massage video mainly in sidelying?
Yes I can. I'll add that to the list. It can be a little tricky to get the pressure you and your clients want when in this position. But there are some tricks I'm happy to share. soon... Thanks for asking!
Thank you for another amazing video 🙏
You're welcome! Thanks for following and commenting!
awesome video, like like
So glad. Thanks for following and commenting!
I’m learning a lot from you. It would be grateful if you could make a video on how to work on body full of muscle knots. Thank you so much 🙏 for sharing your knowledge and techniques with us!
You're very welcome. Another video coming up now!
Found it
Thank you for this great and valuable information 🙏
You're welcome!
This channel is a gem.
Thank you!
Amazing work as always. Thank you for sharing it🙏
Happy to be back at it! I'm training a new assistant and we'll have more videos coming up shortly. Stay tuned!
What table do you have?
Weird. I thought I replied to this. My table is a Custom Craftworks.
Are you sitting or standing? You mention your body mechanics, but I can't picture where you are. If the table is low, this work would be hard on my back. This is a gentle technique.
I am standing but you can also do these techniques while sitting. It's more about how you grab the upper traps, making sure they are soft and that you are in that ropey upper edge. I do these techniques in a variety of positions so definitely pick what works best for your body.
Grateful for your videos!
Thank you for the helpful video! Would you recommend a specific model/brand for an electric table?
I like Custom Craftworks tables!
I agree with you but usually only experienced massage therapist. I mean years and years of practice know this, so thank you for this video. Patients wanting therapeutic work, I do work the soas and if I think it needs on other clients, I ask permission, but I always work the glutes.
My chiropractor shoved my back up so forceful that a disk was moved out of place and horrible pain in my right back. Apparently the QL was affected and its been years now i know the QL is the one locking my pelvis in a shift.
Yes. And I'm sorry to hear that. If you want to release your QL yourself, I have another YT channel specifically for self care and treatment. Here is a link to one of the self release of QL videos: th-cam.com/video/0mZLY2gsI2U/w-d-xo.htmlsi=7qG95-FHrDThF-hd Best wishes!
Thanks Cat!
I like to do cross fiber friction with my closed fist if the erector spinae muscles are super tight. But thiis is cool.
Look forward to taking a class
❤
Watching for my massage clinics, thank you
Loving the videos, but I'd really like to see some supine work for traps and levator. Pretty please.
Already released a traps supine video right here: th-cam.com/video/r-ijj67-AyA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ztvCBFhuL2eKZI_q
Thanx for sharing!
Congratulations 🍾🎊 Definitely going to get one. Thank you for sharing!
I’m excited to try this 😊Thank you🙏
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience, and congrats, Cat! <3
Hey I am looking for help with doing basic yoga
Glad to find your videos.
Just got a massage table for my wife and I. Wish it was on our wedding gift list nearly seven years ago!! Thanks for the teachings, my wife asks for more neck/trap work than any other body part
Can the SCM cause tinnitus? If so what’s the treatment?
I advise you to watch Dr Alan Mandell's video ' SCM Muscles of the Neck' that explains it all neck problems including tinnitus and exercises relevant to it..
How can I do it myself? It’s too much pain after I went for massage from someone else. Is there I a way I can do it myself and according to my comfort level? Thank you so much. Hello from Canada. 😊
Hi there. Yes you sure can. I have another channel specifically dedicated to teaching people how to release their OWN trigger points. One thing to keep in mind is that you must open up the chest a bit first before releasing the traps. Here is a link to the upper traps video from my self care channel. th-cam.com/video/4o6mSkYyu64/w-d-xo.htmlsi=6KNMC48fhrCLb0pM
@@freebodymassage thank you so much. Have been doing it quite a few times now. Will do it forever. Thanks again. You are the best. Kally
@@pearlkally8325 You're welcome! Happy to help you feel well!
Thank you so much for these videos. I've only been practicing full time for 3 weeks and my lower back is kililng me. I think it's because I'm not rocking on my feet and using my legs, and have been, instead, using more of my back to pull back from strokes. Thanks for helping me see the possible problem! Could you make a video on body mechanics while using forearms? I love using my forearms due to a hand injury I suffered two years ago that never healed properly, so it spares my poor hands. Thank you!
Yes I can! I just had another request for a body mechanics for deep work video so I can record both soon. And yes, use your legs. Use your legs. Use your legs to support your work. Lead with your pelvis...
What’s the new vid for this
Wow! Looks relaxing 😌 Thanks for sharing those techniques.
Clients absolutely love it. Enjoy!
can you make a video for deep tissue work?
Yes I will!
why my left lower back hurts when my table is low? Only on left side though @@freebodymassage
Thank you for taking the time to explain the why and how of this issue. ❤
