Complete the JD Program: Finish the 3-year JD program covering foundational and specialized legal topics. 5. Pass the Bar Exam: Take and pass the bar exam in your state to become a licensed attorney. You can then practice as a Juris doctor or pursue careers in corporate, public policy, or academia.
