Fiona Krüger on watch design and being inspired by pearls
We're back for 2025, and Season 6!!!
Welcome to Season 6, Episode 1.
Today’s guest is Fiona Krüger, a fine artist and watch designer who’s independent in the truest sense of the word. Perhaps best known for her timepieces shaped like skulls and defined by fractures and imperfection, Krüger is a watchmaker who finds her own path. Felix caught up with Krüger in Hong Kong as part of Horology Forum 10, where they chatted about design integrity, the tricky nature of luxury and why it isn’t always the best idea to have a business plan when starting out. They also chat about the Face of Tasaki, a watch Fiona Krüger has made with Japanese pearl manufacturer, and one of the coolest releases of the last year. Before that, Andy and Felix gaze into Ariel Adams’ crystal ball and speculate about what 2025 will look like for the watch industry.

Amazing watches and a top bloke.
@@jamessymington2466 agreed and agreed! Thanks for watching mate 🤝
Best watch in the world. THE WORLD.
This went from watch passionate, to funny, to nerdy in no time. Great job!
@@tockingwatches2377 thank you! Appreciate the kind words 😃
Everything Davide has done at Bremont achieved exactly the complete opposite of what he's saying . Ironic really. Painful to watch nonetheless for previous fans like me
DC is a plant agent to destroy bremont, lol. He destroyed the brand!
'interview' with ceo of company 'sponsoring' the episode...? wtf
Owner here too, met Jorn and his partner in Singapore early on….still have a Spido Titanium & Hard Black II…..very unique 🙏
@@neoclash9029 super cool choice! Jorn is great!!
I honestly prefer this over the new current version.
We love Carson - great guy🎉🎉

Design wise the watches are quite excellent. Proportions and negative space work very well. Pricing seems very high.
Agree - they do some beautiful watches. Pricing seems about right for this tier of brand? Czapek, Moser etc..?
The BC is a very cool watch. Shows ingenuity for sure. Many say it’s too thick, but this is not your only daily watch and what are your other options for this complication? None.
You've summed it up nicely.
I would buy one if the thickness were 10mm or lower...
Worth trying one on (if you haven't already) - the bel canto wears well.
Try it on. You will be amazed… love my bel canto… brilliant time piece…
@ glad to hear it!
Mike France is such an absolute gem. I love to listen to him talk. He’s such a pure guy. Classy, substantial, honest, and endlessly informative.
Ooof
Agree! Glad you enjoyed the chat :-)
Lovely watches. I’ve got exactly the same. For 10K
“Thanks for having me….!!!…… I am very exited……!!!…”
I got a 36 (124270) I wear it daily & love it more and more everyday it’s a great watch!
The best tag heuer

Guys can you pleeaase add sections to your videos?
We could probably do that, yeh!
@@otthepodcast neato! I just started checking out your channel but I think you've got some solid content here. Did you discuss perhaps Breguet in depth already in an episode? Would be pretty awesome if you could do a discussion table with a Breguet's higher up Vs critical thinker towards brand releases and doings. Personally I feel they limit themselves for no reason at all. Breguet to me is touching new grounds, daring to think different, ready to go above and beyond. I'll sound like crazy to many but in my eyes it's Breguet that should be behind Urwerk, Hautlence, MB&F, Armin Strom and many other creations. PS you've got my mad respect if you spray paint 'Tradition is a peer pressure from dead people' on their HQ doors. Jk. I'm just very sad by the brand's position nowadays. Nobody talks about them anymore because there isn't much to talk about. Just another crazy priced tourbillon, this time in a different dial, that no one will ever see live. And if you ever care to make it happen - I beg you to filter out any bullcrap coming from the B's higher up. I have never seen an interview with big brand discussing important topics that didn't feel like lying or omitting hard truths. There's way too much of a façade between what big brands are really like inside and what's told to afficionados. Sorry for the long comment. Keep up the good work, byeeee.
Welcome - good to have you here. We've definitely talked pretty candidly about Breguet / Blancpain over the years. TL;DR - we (Andy) thinks they're a bit unloved by Swatch and is not sure why. Lot's of potential and history just sitting there. Pricing is also wild. You might enjoy the #HotTakes section of our discord...
Great guy 🎉
here before you lads blow up! loved this convo
thanks so much legend! tell your watch friends about us!
Young Seiko boy here - would love if you included pictures of the watches you're discussing, or just shared someone's computer screen during the conversation. Saves me having to look stuff up myself!
Hey mate! Thanks for taking the time to share some feedback. It's a lot of editing ($$$) to insert all the watches, we did it a few eps back with the Cartier W&W wrap. I think a screen share situation could work quite well as a middle ground! Part of the fun is the discovery afterwards though :-) Thanks again for the support - AG
How is This Hands On???
Such a great guy to chat to.
Love this
Thanks mate!
Bullshit. Your such a ediot. Suck balls
Looks huge like a clown watch
The TH Carrera glass box on bracelet at $9650. Less than half the price. Speedy pro at $13k. The more integrated B&T BR 05 at $10. A Navitimer in the new smaller size 43 at $13. Or a Santos chronograph for $13,500. I like Zenith, but $7000 more than Navi, Santos or Speedy???
But if someone called her a stupid black bastard, everyone would be up in arms about it. Cop might have been a stupid bastard, but there's no need to bring skin colour into anything.
I think you've commented on the wrong video!
Andy I absolutely agree..... I was ready to buy the Zenith Defy Skyline Chrono, cash in hand, but $20,700 is crazy. The boom is over, COVID cash is over. I expect in 6-9months these will be 20% off. I will have bought something else by then.
It's got a lot of potential, and is a really solid watch. What else do you put up against it?
Está muy hermoso yo compré uno con todo y taxis vale en Los Ángeles 3800 Pero TAG Heuer medio financiamiento por un año cero intereses aprovechen está muy hermoso
Great quality fellas. Keep it up.
Cheers mate 🎉
Thanks for the feedback, Michael! We appreciate it.
Cartier knocked it out of the park this year. 🎉🎉🎉
Andy knocked it out of the park this year 🎊🎊🎊
Really enjoyed this one guys
Glad to hear it
The only podcast I listen to audio only, then watch for the 2nd time…
You’re far too kind Miles
That 36 mm is calling my name
still love my WAN2110 ❤
Hi sir, what’s the size of this watch
Wow, I’m actually heartbroken over this! I’ve been following this cat since I got my first Panerai 86 before the brand was ever popular. He always seemed like a real gentleman. I guess it’s true what they say that only the good die young.
Is this 36mm?
a chaykin erard excuse me!
its beautiful but feel bad n tempted to not even try on...which is very sad but its a lot for not a lot of watch maybe... maybe shouldnt say all this if trying to sellll
i got one i believe very luckily under retail? should i sell immediately or try n hold off n see if it gets more value like original jokers? thank you! :) nice hearing u chat
Hold on to it! Louis Erard is just getting warmed up (in our opinion)...
❤
