New York Central Railroad's "20th Century Limited" regularly raced the Pennsylvania Railroad's "Broadway Limited" on a daily basis after they departed Englewood Station on Chicago's Southside at virtually the same time. The afternoon race lasted about ten miles until the tracks diverged as the Limited's traveled to New York City. Also featured 3) Erie Lackawanna's "Phoebe Snow" with extra cars for a special movement. 4) Great Northern's "Empire Builder" in O Scale pulled by a Milwaukee Road (4-6-2) Steam locomotive. 5) Rio Grande's "Little three car train" pulled by a (2-8-0) steam locomotive in N Scale and 6) a Milwaukee Road FP-7 and F-7B dual diesel pulling a 24 car freight with a Santa Fe caboose, also in N Scale.
