Thank you so much Dianne. Now i realize that rotation is very important part of Tai Chi.
starts at 4min 58
I used to do the 108 kata Classical Yang form, this is a great refresher. Thank you.
I want to be a teacher. After the first payment to become certified, do you pay a yearly amount to keep your certification and how much? If somethings happens to this company, what happens to your certification?
The annual membership fee is $120 and that includes access to our Vimeo site with 100's of videos for continuing education. The certification will remain your certification by keeping your membership current.
That was great! I’m having trouble putting it all together. I can practice with this. Thanks.
Glad you are enjoying Tai Chi!
Wow. This was so helpful. Repetition and focusing on different elements within that repetition was perfect for how I learn. Thank you so much. Looking forward to the next in this series.
Very nice. Thank you. I’ll give your program a deeper look. Great video..

Love this. I have a class twice a week. I have a gray teacher as well. This is very helpful as well to practice as well as learn even more. Thank you. PA
Thank you.
See if you can pull your toes forward instead of pushing your heel backwards when you are doing the palm strike in fairlady. You do this by putting your weight through the front middle of your heel and picking up your toes as much as you can. This will improve the power when you do it with martial intentions. Be well.
How long have you done Tai chi? I've just started and am having issues with my foot position suggestions ?
I have been in the martial arts for over 30 years and have been doing Tai Chi for 20 years. I don't know how to help you with your feet unless you tell me what your specific issues are.
This is not 108 - thats beijin short form
Thank you! Felt nerves calming and qi flowing. Perfect friday cool down after a busy week.
Thanks for the excellent advice! Going to practice it in the 24 form this AM
My favourite flow yet! Thank you Dianne I am really enjoying your teaching.
Great videos. I like that you demonstrate the moves at a level that is approachable for people who have pain issues or weakness, unlike some videos where the squats are deep and the kicks are high. I also like that you show how to do the moves in a small space so I can do them in my home. I also like your explanation of the breathing pattern, I always found that confusing in the past. Thanks so much.
The worst demo I've seen on youtube.
Thank you 🙏
I learn something with every video of yours that I watch. Thank you.
finally found this!
I am 83 and started doing Tai Chi in my early 30's . Listen to this lady she knows what she is doing. Tai Chi is a life long learning process. Every week I try to do a little better, improve and correct any mistakes no matter how small. When you get old and can still move and do things you will be thankful you spent the time and put out the effort.
☯️Good stuff‼️
No teacher in their right mind would teach brush knee push step, then immediately try to incorporate that movement into walking! You teach the form! They master the form! As you've also - separately - taught stepping, while they're working on mastering that and a few other basics they will learn how to walk and do that move at the same time naturally!!! And look at the arch in the teacher's spine!!! She has never practiced the stances in the style or she would know how to lengthen and straighten her spine, her style has no power!!! There is no "working on rotation power" in tai chi, the power comes from practicing the stances and using your skeletal structure from the ground! The twisting of you fascia, tendons and bones with proper stances and forms is where the real power in tai chi comes from! My master laughed at me when I thought - like she does - that there is power in that blocky, locked up looking twist she uses to put 'power' into brush knee...she has what is called: "flower fist and brocade leg"
I do some excercises of Tai chi seated since years, e. g. Hold the ball.
I've done the 30 days of Tai Chi, plus a slew of the other videos. I've done a year of tai chi at the seniors center - and today I finally mastered how to turn the left foot when going from left ward off to right ward off so that I'm not off balance. Love this. :-) Thank you.
🥇Thanks!
Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way around or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves. Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend. Bruce Lee
Do you teach the Yang 108 tai chi long form part two and part three?
Yes. It is part of our video membership site. You can go here to try it for free for a week: openthedoortotaichi.vhx.tv/
Some of this is emphasised in the CST version of wing chun. Are you familiar with that?
No, I am not familiar with that.
It is typical for modern day humans to justify and explain pre-scientific ideas about health by using the language of modern science. But all too often what sounds logical to the listener who yearns to believe in something is in fact over- interpretation at best and gobbledygook at worst. Example: "The more oxygen uptake that you can achieve, the healthier all of your cells are going to be." Really? Please please provide evidence. Science is not based on what sounds plausible. It's based on what IS probable as determined by experimentation.
Perfect. Thank you.

5/`9/24 Viewing and workout; loved it!
Seeing the actions reflected in the mirror is very useful. Unfortunately the all black clothing looses detail and makes some movements difficult to replicate. I can see the hands but not the precise arm movements.
👍👍
Thanks for making these videos . If I were in your area I would pay for lessons in person.
Thank goodness for the technology, right? I'm glad you are enjoying Tai Chi.
@@OpentheDoortoTaiChi so relaxing . I share your videos to a friend that has a stressful life.
Just finished the 30days of Tai Chi. Measurable improvements in balance and stress levels. Very impressed. Now moving onto the Learn 40 form :-)
Outstanding!
I think this discussion of the convergence of roundedness, openness, and rotation is excellent and so important. But why use the word "Stiff" in the title? It certainly got my attention because I assumed you'd be talking about maintaining motion (i.e. avoiding rigidity) and the importance of fluid transitions. One CAN be rounded and still stiff.
You are amazing Diane! Thank you so much!
Thank you for your kind words. I hope you will enjoy Tai Chi for the rest of your life.
Which one is right repulse the monkey and which one is left?
Starting with Tai Chi again after a longer pause, these tutorials are a great help. Actually the most comprehensive i found on youtube.
So glad you are returning to this wonderful form of exercise.
