Disc Golf Beginner Forehand Tutorial: Hyzer Anhyzer Understable Overstable
This video is for anybody who throws forehand and needs help with Hyzer, Anhyzer, Understable, Overstable, and how different angles help with different shots.
Back in 2017 when I was really wanting to learn disc golf, I kept hearing the words "Anhyzer/Hyzer/Overstable/Understable" and had no idea what they meant or how it would help me, especially since most videos assume you are throwing backhand. I tried hard but couldn't find a video that focused on forehand and covered it all simply. So I made the video myself. Despite the beginner form and wearing flip flops, it seemed to help some people. Now, 3 years later, with a little bit more experience and knowledge, I wanted to remake it.

Disc Golf Forehand Hyzer/Anhyzer Understable/Overstable Tutorial
มุมมอง 37K6 ปีที่แล้ว
When I was trying to learn Anhyzer/Hyzer and what it meant for Overstable and understable discs, I couldn't find a video that covered it all simply for me since I throw forehand. Here, I tried to do it for anybody else who needs it. Here is the understable/overstable chart link: www.marshallstreetdiscgolf.com/media/flightguide.html

    Pretty good distance with an effortless throw. I'm a 66 year old first year player and I have to really go all out to get over 300 feet. I wish I could get that kind of distance with an effortless throw like you do since I'm so much more consistent that way.

    Came here to try to learn more about anni forehands, and most the information here I did know but seeing the amount of angle used was helpful. I'm still looking to learn more about soft touchy close anni approaches (I want the disc to pan to the left). I have a few holes at my course that can require them. I use a double stack grip, noticed you were fanning for at least putters (couldn't fully tell on the one clip I glanced back to on drivers), and putters come out wobbly 90% the time, and that 10% goes flat and straight into the ground. Any tips would be much appreciated.

    Very helpful video!! How do you know which discs are stable, understable, and overstable? Is it related to the numbering system on the disc, or is it just something you learn about with each disc? Thanks!!

      @@lennoncoley1431 Yes, I know about the chart, but I was asking a more technical and aboslute question... sorry I wasn't more clear. Even on the chart, there are discs with essentially the same Turn/Fade number, but some are understable, stable, or even overstable. So, I want to know what actually makes a disc stable, understable, or overstable. Thanks!

    • @lennoncoley1431
      @lennoncoley1431 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@studiowizard6286 As a general rule, yes it is related to the numbering system on the disc. For understable discs, the 3rd number (turn) will be often be negative. The more negative, the more understable.

    • @lennoncoley1431
      @lennoncoley1431 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nyenne Stils a lot of times it is because it is thrown “nose up”, meaning the front of the disc is lifted and the wind lifts the disc.

    Pretty sure the Vulcan is throwing like an overstable disc for you because it's a 13 speed disc, and you're not throwing it fast enough with the forearm to make it turn.

  • @JeremyMirken
    @JeremyMirken 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice forehand. I'd like to see how your form has changed now that you have improved. Your style in this video looks exactly like Ivan Katz (I think that is his name). You must have seen his vids, right? "Why everyone should own a _______."

  • @nathanlowe811
    @nathanlowe811 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey man, I love the video. It explains a lot of information that new disc golfers do not understand. Thanks for that! I wanted to let you know that the reason the Vulcan reacts differently than it states on the flight characteristics is because it's an ultra high speed driver. It needs a lot of power/speed to have those characteristics. Something you and I probably can't generate because we aren't pros. I don't own a disc over a 9 speed rating and tend to get more accurate flight path readings from them. Also, you may consider removing the barcode stickers from your discs as they tend to alter flight path and make the disc heavier on one side. Thanks again for the great video! Keep it up man!

      @lennoncoley1431 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks man. Yeah I've stopped throwing the Vulcan all together. My game has gotten a lot better since this video. Thanks for the support. I wanted to make a video because when I was learning, I always heard these terms and didn't really understand what people were talking about. I couldn't find a good video specifically related to forehand, so I decided to make it myself. Thanks!
