Nice, i was there same weekend on the saturday. Managed to get to the 1st very soft sand beach without getting stuck, but decided to turn around as it was getting late in the day. Such a good drive

I went there today in my 95 xj cherokee, gets really really soft after devils gate, be on your witts and you will b fine 20psi tyre pressure low range and momentum easy az . if u stay away from the water line you will be fine. Still very soft but atleast if you do get stuck your not going to get washed away 😂

Run your fella's tyres way lower like 20psi went with the Hamilton group on Aotea dune the only ones to get stuck were the ones running high tyre pressure. Had a series 4 landrover that wouldn't get up a dune soon as we dropped the pressure we gone further than some of the purpose built.

Great spot. Living abroad these days but was in there before the wind turbines were put in. Great with my little Suzuki Jimny! Something magical about the Wellingtons south coast. Always thought the house on the plateau would be a awesome place to live! Cheers for sharing.
