GRWM: Is Hollywood Collapsing?
In this video we are talking about my real-life experience as Hollywood fails to bounce back after the Writer+Actor double strike of 2023.. we explore the deep roots of how the Hollywood workers labor strike in 1945 caused the creation of the National Labor Board, and how it’s colored the life of the American worker ever since Taft Hartley Law was introduced. We also discuss Meta’s decision to shut down its Spark AR program, erasing all independently created augmented reality filters on the platform.
But we also hang out, do makeup and I tell you about the stuff I've been learning through classed on Coursera, and using artist friendly apps like Procreate and Nomad Sculpt.

I can imagine what Marilyn, who'd be 99 soon, would think, or say, in her breathy voice. "Ring in the nose? Gosh... I thought that's for oxes... oxen... whichever is right. Arthur would know."
Cute.
Currently writing my dissertation about the evolution of film technology and its impact on makeup techniques! This video is part of what started my interest and its great to see a good example of how it may have looked. Thank you !
Glad it was helpful!
Question: so when it came to this things like red carpets and live events where their pictures were being taken (which been then being taken and printed in black and white) did they just add those certain hues to their every color glam? They couldn’t have possible been walking about in green lipstick and blue eyeshadow and contour 😂😂
This is a great question. I’m making a video response for you! But short answer- you’re right! They didn’t. 😉
@ yay I love it!
It's overkill, imho, with MM. I know she was iconic, but, imho, NOBODY could hold a candle to Elizabeth Taylor, MOST beautiful of God's creations. Just sayin.
Apples to Oranges. They’re both iconic and beautiful.
So great! :) Good idea using natural dark eye circles.
Awesome :). You got skills. ✴️
Absolutely beautiful 😊
Thanks 🙏 I had fun with this one!!
im pretty sure you look the same like the ladies
Yeah I do! 🤣
Мало кто знает, но Мерлин Монро всегда пила в кадре виски, вместо шампанского. Не потому что на чёрно-белой пленке для зрителя это выглядело более естественно, нет, она просто любила виски. 😂
I love that! Did you know, that in film the last shot of the day is called the “martini” because the next “shot” the crew would take would be out of a martini 🍸 glass! Haha!
I love office attire
I love a good blazer. Instant upgrade to a lot of outfits.
This video is so cozy! Let’s hope there’s more free pizza in your future 🥰
Thank you. I hope so too. <3
I saw it so for anyone considering: wait for it to come out on streaming services, it is not worth the cost of admission but worth the hour and 45 it takes to get through.
I saw it too. Couldn’t agree less. Hundreds of people put their blood, sweat and tears into that movie 🍿 and it shows.
@@CiciAndersen just because the production quality was there doesn’t mean the plot flowed well or the acting was good, those are the reasons I didn’t like it.
Ok… but do you like my makeup 😂
@@CiciAndersen yeah
you are amazing at makeup! I love your eyeshadow :)
Thank you! 🥰
I love the look its so pretty!!!! You look amazing like yes Queen!!!! 💜💜💜💜🖤🖤🖤🖤💚💚💚💚
That’s so nice! Thank you 🪲✨💚
@@CiciAndersen of course lovely!!!! 💜💜💜💜🖤🖤🖤🖤💚💚💚💚
I am going tomorrow🎃🪲🧃
I hope you love it! It was really cool to see how they evolved the characters!
Hi, I’m a vintage cosmetics/perfumes collector, and I think the pale powder you showed at the beginning was actually darker, but with time, the old fashioned pigment got changed in color, some go darker, some go paler, I compared some of my vintage collections with ads from those eras and noticed a big difference in how the sades used to look. I faced this with powders, lipsticks (some turned from red to white!!!) so your powder shade was deeper when they launched 70/80 years ago. It is kind of oxidizing or chemical reaction between the ingredients.
Thank you for that insight. I am not a chemist, I have not heard of them oxidizing paler. But I am going to look into that! Great tip!
Thank you so much for explaining so clearly a whole new world running like lighting into our lives!
Glad it was helpful!
I remember when i watch Bette Davis and Joan Crawford "Feud" series there was a scene were they were filming the famous movie "whatever happens to baby Jane" and Bette Davis was preparing her make up and i said to myself why is she putting clown make up ? I realize during those era in B&W film or tv or even in photos one needs to apply extreme and horror like make up to look good in black and white.
This was such an interesting video. It gave me a fresh perspective on how to use shading and highlighting to get different effects.
This is the most detailed and blended wood grain trxture I have seen of all the videos. Yours is the most convincing and not nightmare-fuel! Great work on adding contrast and dimension without it being jarring and harsh!!
Thank you so much for the compliment
Wow. Amazing how great you are on camera. I couldn’t take my eyes and ears off the video. ♥️♥️♥️
Wow, 🙏🏽 that’s such a nice compliment
This is a well done comprehensive commentary on the implications of MEDIA INFLUENCE as it collides with MEDICAL EXPERIMENTATION and then IMPLEMENTATION of a METHOD to encourage the use of UNNECESSARY and TOXIC products and maintenance HABITS for the erosion of PUBLIC HEALTH and SOCIAL ACCEPTANCE/CO-EXISTENCE. 🌈
Excellent! Great explanation, demonstration, and the history was very interesting. This was very helpful to me as I'm preparing to do makeup for a black & white noir short film. If you see this, please let me know if you have any other tips, or can point me to additional resources. Thanks so much!
Hello. These days most filmmakers will shoot on 4K-6K capable cameras which allows for many adjustments in post. Camera tests are always recommended and these principles are best applied once a format/filter is decided on. If you want to try it, your iPhone or smartphone is a great way to practice. Try swatching different colors and witnessing their changes when applying different black and white filters. Have fun!
Thank you, I appreciate the additional information! @@CiciAndersen
Marilyn Monroe's makeup is it still expensive till now or it's not anymore
The case was sold at auction and is not currently for sale to my knowledge. A lot of the makeup Marylin wore is now out of production. Max Factor products still exist, as does Erno Lazlo skincare- but they are not easily purchased as they were in Marylins time. I think you can buy online.
This is my great great grandfather ❤ Thank you for this .
It's my pleasure
The Egyptian magic on your cheeks was soooo pretty 😍😍😍😍
Thanks 🙏🏽 I really love that product. So useful and feels luxurious and healing.
He is my family member . I just learned about him last year.. my great grandmother is a overton . Im so happy to see this video. I will share with my family
We’re cousins ❤ He is my great great grandfather
Back then, beauty was simpler. Plus no tattoos
Thanks for the observation
❤❤❤❤
I enjoyed this video. I love vintage beauty history being African American i have such a hard time finding information on beauty products catered to us. I have a La Jac powder in my cart. I need this Overton powder
Same here. It’s a very overlooked area of beauty history. It was lucky to connect with one of his family members after creating the video. There are definitely efforts made through the family to continue Anthony’s legacy- no idea why he’s not more known today. I was happy to have found this product, and happy someone thought to keep it.
Amazing video as usual ❤❤❤
Thanks for watching! Dropped it a little early to see if anyone is still out there 🤍 the support means a lot 🥲

Awesome video. Cici is amazing. You're amazing. Thank you for sharing. ;)
Aww thanks
No one can ever totally recreate Marilyn, but you did a really good job of giving yourself that luminance that she had. You looked beautiful.
My thoughts exactly. Thanks for the compliment and for watching
Your information are very helpful mam thank you so much
My pleasure 😊
As soon as I heard Frida I thought of coco 🥺❤️
Awww 🥰 loved that movie 🍿
what dye can we use??
Not all people are allergic, but for those who are- the results can be devastating. Make sure to patch test new products first with a professional.
Absolutely unbelievable! I've seen many Marilyn Monroe makeup look-alikes, but none as exact as yours. You are simply incredibly talented and really, really know your stuff. Never have I seen anyone as good as you are before! ✨❤️✨
