This show could almost be a case study in the amount of luck you need to make it big in the music industry. Cheryl: Was in the bottom twice. Came very close to being eliminated in the final 7. Nadine: If she hadn't been caught lying about her age, she would have stayed with Six (who never entered the charts outside of Ireland and split after 2 years). Kimberley: Was first reserve for the final 10 after another contestant was discovered to be over 25. Was in the bottom 3/4 every week. Sarah: Was in the bottom 2 in the final week, and was up against Javine who had never been in the bottom before. The phone lines were kept open even as they announced the results - and who knows who would have made it in otherwise? Nicola: Was second reserve for the final 10. Got in after another girl (also named Nicola) quit the show. She and Nadine were the only girls to never be in the bottom. Not to mention the boy band from the same show completely flopped, and the losers from the final also made their own bands and could have potentially caused another 'Liberty X' situation.

Cheryl was and still is deffo the weakest vocally of the group. Sarah had the best voice. Was never really a fan of them so never really paid much attention until watching old clips of them when Sarah passed. How cheryl actually made it passed initial auditions is beyond me.

Geri really is a narcissist on steroids.

Chloe and Emma had horrible energy. I’m so glad they didn’t make it into Girls Aloud, Amy is the only one who didn’t make it in that I think could have slotted into Girls Aloud, maybe in place of Kimberley

I don't understand the people who say in the comments that Girls Aloud is a bad and generic group, and neither to those who say they can't sing, especially Cheryl. In my opinion, I love Girls Aloud. Is one of my favourite pop groups. I love Sarah, Kimberley, Cheryl, Nadine and Nicola. They're so beautiful and their voices too. RIP Sarah. 😢😭💔🕊️

Some really disappointing and sinister hatred aimed at Cheryl in a lot of these comments… Let’s not beat about the bush. No, she’s not a good singer. No. she didn’t help her reputation by decking a toilet attendant in the face. Yes, she mostly got through on the basis of her looks. That’s all unavoidably true. So I understand to an extent where people are not a fan of her, and that’s all well and good. But I’m seeing people saying she’s a slag, a thug, a gold digging slut, a nasty and odious person, that she should’ve died not Sarah… You realise all those comments amount to what is effectively bullying? It’s one thing to not like someone and just be dismissive of them. But to actually make death threats? Unsolicited character references? To actively try and destroy their reputation? People commit suicide every day through bullying and harassment. You’re all a fucking disgrace. Think of the effects your words have. Cheryl herself has addressed the hostility and hatred she gets and confided it made her almost suicidal. Seriously, some of you need to take a good look at yourselves. What happened to the ‘Be Kind’ movement after Caroline Flack was hounded and humiliated to the point of suicide? This isn’t even about being a Cheryl fan (which I am, so what?). This is about people hiding behind their keyboards, computer screens or smartphones running their mouths, spewing out toxic and hateful shit, knowing they have the luxury of anonymity and no consideration for their behaviour. 5:42 Just hits my heart every time I watch this part. You could tell that Cheryl didn't want Aimee to leave and she wasn't expecting it either. Glad that Aimee got to be in another band though. The band was called "Clea". To be real though, I listened to both bands and they were great! Also, rest in peace to Sarah. I can not believe that she died two years ago last month (September 5th, 2021). The girls (obviously) must've been so sad to hear that she passed. I'm also sad about it. She's still alive, but not on earth. She's in heaven.

So what I've taken away from this video is that none of them could sing....🤣

Y'all are just judging that their voices weren't good and they wouldn't make it today, but it's all belongs to the past. And if it weren't of that show we wouldn't have this phenomenal group, and you can see thru the years how their voices changed and progressed. And oh boy the songs they got are absolutely amazing, every single one of them, even the b sides and other kind of stuff they have. They were meant to be that controversial girlgroup that experimented and changed pop music. "We're gonna cause a controversy" but hell yeah it worked. And one of them misses now but will forever be the queen 💕

I mean I know she has a subpar voice but she’s entertaining and she can really dance to fuck and she’s so beautiful every member of girls aloud was perfect they worked so well together they didn’t spend a decade doing amazing and sounding great together for fuckall it just worked
