1990 All Pro Auto Parts 300 - Charlotte Motor Speedway (BGN)
Flag to Flag coverage of Sterling Marlin's first career NASCAR national series win, with most of the audio cleaned up. Unfortunately the audio was turned way down during the victory lane interview so I had to refrain from doing both noise reduction and gain increase in that segment without distorting it significantly. VHS tape was provided by Jim Bown.

Digitized episode of SpeedWeek, missing the very end (probably like one minute I think) but all the important segments are there. There's a weird glitch around the two minute mark during the Jerry Punch part where his footage glitches and I had to splice it so the audio lined up again. Tape provided by Jim Bown.

The most frustrating video I have ever edited. This is the complete, five hour coverage of the race which includes pre-race ceremonies, driver intros, invocation, and post-race. Chad Little would lead 319 laps of 500 to score his fourth career victory in the NASCAR Winston West Series. Finally we have public footage of Mark Walbridge's Flip 3:48:38
I was crewing for Jimmy Bown car number 1 that season. We were in the very first pit spot and you can see the car behind the wreck. I was the gas man. We were in the pits for a couple of laps prior to Mark hitting the inside pit wall. Dick Bown was under the hood when the hit happened and chunks of concrete hit the hood missing Dick and crew chief. Mark lost the steering shaft to steering box and car just drove left do to all the negative camber and toe coming out of turn 4. Car was brand new. Was a colossal hit. Few people hurt. Mark walked himself to the medical center behind the track and back. Maintained friendship with Mark over the yrs. Hs life story should be a movie. So miss the 80s.

My g-grandfather Hubert thought the absolute world of Bob and I felt like there would be others out there who would want to see this. I'm glad that family was able to find this.

Ricky was not far removed from delivering parts for his father's used auto parts salvage yard here in #22 1980 He used to deliver front clips to my father at Poquodon motors & peninsula body shop In Hampton,Va. I had the fortune to meet him as a young boy When he drove Bill Champions car #10 also from Hampton Va.
