Clouds of Léa
มุมมอง 14K11 หลายเดือนก่อน
Swiss splitboarder Léa Klaue has often heard "Trust yourself" amidst her mountain journeys. But how do you do that? Where does trust come from? This short film delves into the nuances of self-confidence and its absence. Documenting Léa's ascents and descents of some of the steep north faces in the Valais Alps during the Spring 2023, the film shows the uncertainties of steep riding - a snowboard...

At first glance they appear to be compatible with the Phantom GT Tech Toe pieces. Is that accurate?! Thanks!
Why can’t you talk during the video????
A day splitboarding with the kids is so much worth all the effort to pull up a custom setup for them as nothing was available for them. They stoke they get when on top and ready to drop in on nearly untouched terrain is undescriptible. My youngest started on snowshoe at 4 and now rock is own splitboard since 5. Grateful for all this :)
So if I want it to be at 15 degrees I line the 15 line up with the centre ?
Let’s gooo Timmy! Fire edit boys
I'm curious why these aren't standard on the binding to begin with?
Awesome🔥
Love this!
This is great. I'd love to tell some visual stories with ya! Loved this so much!
This is sweet
Beautiful.
What song is that in the beginning?
Yeah?
Dang, those kids are ripping in the backcountry at a young age. That's awesome.
Spark is dope. Party on amigos.
Enjoyed THIS! Good vibes, nice snowboarding.
Hi
Can you license the pillow straps to all other snowboard companies? These are the best things that have happened to regular or split bindings in 10+ years. Thank you Spark!
tanner and jimmy lesgoooooooo
We can attest to the build quality of the Surge ST. Love 'em!
I'm doing a new split setup for next season and am leaning toward the Surge ST Pro. For the board I'm looking at the new Burton 3D Fish Flat Top Split as I normally ride (and love) an older non-split Fish. Are the surge compatible with a Burton channel system puck? I'm in Bozeman and would love to buy direct in person!
The Surge ST Pro will work with the Burton channel pucks. We don't always have inventory here at the shop in Bozeman as we prioritize our retail partners first during the shipping season. Please inquire at sales@sparkrandd.com. If we have inventory available, you can absolutely come down to the shop to purchase. Otherwise check with World Boards or Uphill Pursuits, both in BZN.
who the heck puts their toe strap over the top of the boot like that haha
Excellent job on showing these, Dan! We love our Spark R&D Surge bindings over here at Engearment. The Smooth Touring Tech is legit. Keep up the great work, guys!
Thanks Sean! Surge ST video coming soon.
GET THAT MAN A HOCKEY STICK.
Do you have any crampons that are wide enough for a union rover approach ski that im using with spark arc bindings? Bindings are sweet! cheers.
Judging by the specs on the rover (W 15.25 cm) our widest crampon will not fit on the approach ski.
@@sparkbindings no worries! ill get some kleats or try fab something up, thanks for the response!
It is about time I became the "skating marauder" once again; crashing peep's sessions all over town.
pucks are incluid on the bindings ? or sale apart ?
Pucks are not included with the bindings and need to be purchased separately.
Hard boots would be the clear choice here. lol. Nothing like the classic Spark R&D April 1st innovation. 🍻 boys
I’m in!
this is so sick, just bought my first split and of course grabbed spark bindings
🫀🐺🇧🇴
At what weight would you start to recommend the surge over the arc for weight reasons alone?
It's not an exact science of course. Unofficially, maybe 200+ lbs the Surge might be a better option. There are other factors though. How hard and how often you are riding, how efficient you are touring,. Even what kind of skin tracks you are on and how hard you have to stomp to get traction. Hope that helps. We do know folks 200+ lbs that can rock Arcs.
@@sparkbindings thank you for such a thorough response. My choice has been made!
Really liked it. Cool storytelling, especially how you shared your thoughts and doubts during the ascents and descents.
Bravo pour le film ! C'était une super bonne ambiance au piero del zen. A bientôt sur les pentes au printemps
ah mais plaisir julien! :) une prochaine dans une boite à sardine en altitude!
Dope riding, but major mistake: Never ride with two ice axes - The Cham guys do it all the time, but the professional view is different especially if your're on the light side. You need all the weight on the single ice axe to slow you down. If you're roped up you need the free hand for rope management. Around 8:12 you're dangling with the axe aroung the rope. If ther's a fuck up at that point, your ice axe can get tangled up in the rope and that can get you in real trouble. If you slip, accelerate an the rope gets tensioned, this thing is like a slingshot and with a bit of bad luck shoots right at you. keep it up and ditch the hardboots ;-)
Thank you so much for your input ❤❤❤ this recognized professional athlete, trained by several recognized professional athletes and guides, with several achieved high mountain courses around the globe needed a long explanation of what she's doing wrong. Cause you know, we needed to be explained by random dude on internet how to do it properly. Perhaps you could reach out ENSA in France (as you mentioned it) to explain them as good as you did ❤❤❤ they just, as Lea, trained and qualified to climb and ride big mountains, so they not as good as you for mansplaining (oh, I'll womsplaining to you : when a random dude explain something to a woman even though she's obviously trained and specialized in her field -you can check her bio on internet as you look comfy front of a screen 🙏🏾) well, I hope this hell of an Essai comment made you lose as much time to read as your useless comment made our (and Chamonix guide's) eyes rolling up 🫶🏾
thank you for your input. and no, i am not ditching the hardboots, theyre great for this terrain (thx key equipment!), I think I've been standing on a snowboard long enough to make educated decisions regarding gear and tools. :)
thank you as well for your input! :D
Great writing, editing and storytelling. Clouds are an excellent metaphor for the unknown. Really enjoyed this!
thank you so much! we are delighted the film reaches its goal!
Bravo pour avoir mélangé l'adrénaline des pentes raides avec des questionnements sincères et au fond très humains. C'est ce qui rend authentique et particulier ce mini doc. Touchant.
merci beaucoup!!!
so strong!
Top merci ❤
Cool Lea!
takk krister!!! 🤙

Cest bon!
OK.. this had me gripped in sections.

takk!
great storytelling, great faces, keep an eye on your backside turn it will give you more stability
thanks for the props, and thanks for the input.
magnifique! Tout simplement
merci! :)
Can you adjust these front to back? I’m getting a lot of heel drag
Yes, you can move the pucks to their farthest forward position. You can also try adjusting your heel loop forward.
Continue comme ça ... et surtout garde cet état d'esprit....
pas l'intention d'arrêter! :)
