I remember when I first read the hunger games book, I saw my sibling in the careers and thought "gosh, how horrible for those kids to be raised and conditioned for a horrid type of martyrdom". I was raised by a narcissistic abusive single mum. I was the eldest child and have alot of childhood trauma and I'm disabled as an adult due to my childhood. As a kid I was so envious of my younger sibling, whom our mother treated with what looked like love, but now I'm a mum myself I can look back on my childhood I think I was the luckiest of my mums two kids. I knew I was hated, which made breaking away and learning that I didn't deserve the treatment I received much easier. But my sibling was conditioned to be narcissist, sociapathic even, to value money and social cred, to not only use violence but enjoy it, including through hurting animals and nearly k*lling me multiple times but also through self harm actions as a effed up demonstration of strength/power/importance (as a teenager I couldn't tell if I was more scared for my life or my siblings). Our mum often would set my sibling on me rather than hurt me herself, it gave her a massive power trip, but she has so much mental control over my sibling that she convinced them that I deserved it and that if I didnt it was their fault I got hurt not our mums. I repeatedly tried to get them to leave since I did, it took over ten years for me to realise I can't help them cos our mum still has complete phsycological control, to the point that they still live at home. I've had to stop contact with both of them to protect my children and my mental health. I know my sibling will never be able to work fully on unpacking childhood trauma and abuse until our mum is dead and then they'll finally be free. That's how horrible being contitioned to be a weapon is. So you can probaly understand why when I read the hunger games books I saw my sibling in the careers and had so much empathy for them. The carrers were conditioned towards violence and killing, that longing for love and pride from those that condition them while also despising themselves and living with shame, hatred and guilt. Those kids in the career groups are so deeply conditioned and abused and it upsets me that we dont see people talking about how effed up that is. I think most people mistakenly see the carrers as jock like types, just stereotypical bullies who deserve to be killed off by katniss our heroine. But they're just as inoccent as Rue and Peta, they were trained to be violent entertainers. Its so terribly sad.

“Pretty privilege” People tend to be more lenient to people/characters that they find attractive and since a large portion of the fanbase is female they likely find David to be attractive and have no attraction to Teruko, This is my theory for why the male characters get more leniency in danganronpa games,

The music is WAY too loud when you're talking. Also I think the switched at birth theory is... kind of invalidating to their character arcs. It removes so much agency from them both. Also, red/blue/yellow is Disney. EAH was produced by Mattel, and Disney now gets their dolls through Hasbro, not Mattel. Her design isn't meant to reference Disney's Snow at all. Her dress is red because most *apples* are red, and her hair is blonde like the flesh of an apple. Her design is meant to reference the apple that poisons her. Which, can I just like, point out that Briar's dress is covered in thorns? Which are bad in her fairy tale? T^T

I have a video suggestion. Throughout these despair time analysis videos, you've frequently mentioned character archetypes, and while I was always aware of the basic ones like protagonist, antagonist, and support character, as well as the stereotypical traits of a chapter 3 killer and buff character that dies in chapter 4, I was surprised at how in-depth these archetypes seem to go. I understand if this would be too much for one video, but I'd love to see a deep dive into each of the main danganronpa archetypes you've identified, how they're portrayed in canon, and how fangans tend to twist the role.

Honestly, other details that are important, to me, and maybe for you to hear. Is that, before the "And from the ground, beneath my feet" and the rest of that chorus, in, "The Ballad of Jane Doe" You can hear her breathing heavily, almost hyperventilating, while creeping, and frantically looking around-most likely from memories-and anxiety. Also, the fact that some parts in the song, especially, "Isn't there anyone to tell me who I am", "Why, oh why, oh why, oh why?", and, "And I'm askin', "Why, Lord? If this is how I die, Lord" has clear hints of anger, you can hear it better in the voice crack, and strength of the first lyric I've mentioned. "A song that no one knows, forgot how it goes" can very well be a reference to how she 'has no soul'. "A song that no one knows" meaning; the song referring to her body, "no one knows" referring to the fact her head wasn't found, and wasn't clearly identified. "Forgot how it goes" can have many meanings. One is that it could be how she forgot how and/or what she was, and her name, and two is how she forgot herself as a *whole*, not just her name, or herself. Her soul included. And, that each section can very well be one of the stages of grief. The first one is: Shock Explanation: Fear, fear is another part of shock. The most important part, in my opinion, but it's the fact she's scared that she has no soul and that she doesn't know where her head is. She's in shock, she's worrying about it, and is afraid. The second one is: Shock+denial Explanation: She's still shocked about it, saying that it's a shame for her to have 'no story, soul, or a name. The denial being her asking and begging Saint Peter to tell her that she is still something in her existence. She just wants to *be*. The third one is: Bargaining Explanation: This whole section sounds like she's slightly understanding. "And from the ground, beneath my feet" referring to her head being on the ground, somewhere. "I hear the anguish of the street" Possibly referring to the fact people were panicked, confused, or terrified that one of the members being beheaded. "And like an old forgotten tune. A song that no one knows, forgot how it goes" I already explained these ones. "Forever eternally, Jane Doe." Is her starting to accept the situation, and the fact she will forever be forgotten, but it also brings and dawns on her the truth. The fourth one is: Anger Explanation: The whole, "And I'm askin', "Why, Lord? If this is how I die, Lord, why be left with no family, and no friends?" Is just her begging why, wanting to know that answer. Being angry at herself, angry at everything, most likely. Angry at the fact she was left with nothing. She started to realise everything, and now she's begging for the truth. Her tone of voice says it all. The fifth one is: Depression+possibly bargaining Explanation: She's afraid no one cares, and it saddens her. Considering the previous line, "like an old forgotten tune" is now changed to, "Another *sad*, forgotten tune", and the other line, "Forgot how it goes" is now, "so that's how it goes". She's accepted(not fully) that she's going to be lost. The sixth one is: Depression+Anger? Explanation: She's angry the fact she's not getting the answers she wants, but she's also sad about it. (A few lines from this one is slightly explained in the first paragraph) "Just this sorry speculation" speculation, meaning; The forming of a theory or conjecture without firm evidence. Which also ties in to the fact, before she started singing, Karnak said, "It was rumoured that she joined the ride, last minute" The seventh one is: Acceptance Explanation: I think this one is self-explanatory.

I honestly just had a brain blast, exactly why does MonoTV know one of the students is the mastermind? He tells teruko in episode 3 of chapter two he's unaware of who the mastermind is and was given the bare minimum info, but knowing one the students are the mastermind, with the only two ways to solve this being A: he just lied so he knows who it is and to go with it B: the show is specifically protecting them

This video was great! My favourite has to be Teruko. I really like what DRDT are doing with her character, it's super unique and has a lot of potential. (...also, i really love protaganists.) The whole cast is really likeable though!!

OMG I JUST REALIZED SMTH so almost every time jane doe sings those really high notes she does either a chromatic fall or just slowly goes lower in her voice, so when you said that her high notes could be taken as her screaming as she gets decapitated, the falls could be her head dropping to the ground.

It is possible Xanders eye was scratched out by a monokuma or even monoTV. (Maybe someone has control of the old monokuma models scavenged from the tragedy?)

I know theater is always meant to be up for interpretation, but I assumed when Jane Doe moved on, Karnak mentioning that she is Penny Lamb was her previous life. Please let me explain: While it's a plot hole in the story (Karnak doesn't remember her, and then suddenly does) it makes more sense than her becoming Penny Lamb. She's a character from another musical called Legoland, in which her parents are jailed for drug use (or something related to drugs). It's assumed that Legoland takes place a year before Ride the Cyclone, and it makes sense for Jane to have not being identified if the only people that could identify her were locked away. Not only that, but Penny Lamb has a story, and that's not the story we see on the projector when Jane walks into her new life. It's suggested with all the videos that she lives a happy, fulfilling life. For her to become Penny Lamb doesn't really add up the same... Of course, it's never confirmed what the true ending is, and if she were to become Penny Lamb, it's possible they aren't the same character. It could just be an Easter Egg name to reference a previous creative work. I'd do that too lol

The character who most didn't deserve to die, in my opinion, she was just trying to protect Teruko, then it turned out that it wasn't worth protecting Teruko, after the execution Teruko laughed and said that they were the ones who voted her out, worst main character (in my opinion)

I think whoever talks with all the characters (probably Mai) is the mastermind since there seems to be hints of many of the talents from the cast being used in the killing game, J’s talent would be great for building the set for the show, Mnemonic methods of memorising would be great for planning the killing game (mimicking Roses naturally gifted memory), The mastermind designed uniforms for each of the cast including new ones for Teruko, Whit and Hu much like Levi’s talent, I could go on but the point is that I think someone close with each of the students could have learned from them or perhaps even got close with them due to being able to naturally mimicking their talents to relate to them.

Veronika is too much of a voyeur to be the mastermind, She enjoys watching horrific things be done more than she enjoys doing it herself, Also the mastermind generally plans out the order of events which would make the killing game too predictable for Veronika if she had to make things go according to a plan.

I agree that Jane doe could also resemble all of the stages put together in one she is angry that no knows who she is for example. Also her high notes in her song are supposed to be her screams of when she is being decapitated so that can resemble acceptance as well.

I doubt Kris is trying to hurt people on purpose,since if you shock Noelle in the mouse puzzle and Noelle shocks them back,Kris looks hurt. To be fair we don't much about them and Kris has issues (they could be bad) but I don't think Kris is a bad person.
