There's only so far you can upgrade something. This thing is based on a 1950s design and would get slaughtered in any conflict. Before you start about the B-52 being as old or older, that's true, but 1) The B-52 is operated by the largest air force in the world, and can be escorted by some of the best fighters in the world. 2) It's mission has changed drastically over time. When it first flew it was the B-2 of its day, but nowadays it's used as a bomb/missile truck and it avoids flying against peer level air defense.(It chucks cruise missiles from hundreds of miles away against a peer opponent)
