Ingredients
- 1/4 cup quick oats
- 1 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoons brown sugar
- ½ tablespoon of vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- 2 small apples of differing tartness, peeled and cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
1. To start, peel two small apples and cut them into bite-sized pieces. I like the combination of a sweet apple and a sour apple together for a good balance of tartness. Then in a medium-sized bowl, add 2 tablespoons of butter, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.
2. The tops of apple crisps are sweet and crunchy bits of granola. To make this, we’re going to combine together in the shabuki pot 1/4 cup of quick oats, 1 tablespoon of butter, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, ½ tablespoon of vanilla extract, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon and a pinch of salt. Turn the heat on to low and stir until well combined and it starts smelling fragrant. Continue to cook for another 10-15 minutes until the oats have become crisp. Then remove from heat.
3. Next, add the apple mixture to the shabuki pot and turn the heat to low. Stir continuously until the apples start releasing their juices and then put the lid on and let the apples cook for 5 minutes. Open the lid and let the apples continue to cook until the liquid thickens a little. Then remove from heat and top with the oat mixture. And if you’re so inclined, a big old scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Hi. New subscriber here. Just ordered itaki pro but it hasn’t arrived yet. Please could I ask-how do you check safety of meat eg chicken being fully cooked or the same for reheating meat? Thanks a lot. Can you cook frozen meat? I’m intending to use it on tour as a musician. Normally I end up eating rubbish and feeling awful.

I can’t wait for my itaki to arrive. Do you have this pho recipe where I can follow the written instructions. Can I add all the ingredients at the start of my shift n cook it at the start of my shift at work n it still be warm? I usually only get a 30 min break so I’m concerned that it may take 30-40 min to cook if I start it on my break. Unfortunately I can’t leave my work space early to turn it on n come back to it. Any helpful tips n suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I love soy sauce but it makes me retain so much water. I can tell the next day how puffy my face and hands are. It's so unfortunate since I love Asian cuisine
Your rieu is way too watery which is why it broke off. You didn't have any meatballs in the bowl...I only see crumbled pork ahaha...the meatballs should float up when it's done.

Thank you for your recipe. I'll use some of your spices and your air fry instructions. I'm experimenting a Cantonese dish called "Chu Hou Kai". It's fried chicken, then pour a mixture of Chu Hou sauce over it. Hope it works. Thanks again.

Perfect recipe, it’s how I make it. I make a pot then freeze it in two cup containers, and I can take it out and heat it up anytime. It’s just me that enjoys eating it so it works great! Such a comforting bowl. ( chicken legs are perfect, I add them to the instant pot frozen) thank you for sharing ❤️
