Windsurfing & Wing Foiling. Calshot is a place where watersports enthusiasts of all abilities from southern Hampshire and beyond come together and enjoy themselves. The 'lagoon' is particularly good for beginners, as it is relatively shallow and flat in most of the sailable wind conditions. Wednesday 15th November saw moderate winds from the NWW, but as always never steady.

Watersports @Calshot In the 'lagoon' the strong, gusting SW wind proved very tricky. One minute it was gusting to 32 knots, the next, it might drop back to barely sailable. That and the holes in the wind, which are a feature when sailing in Calshot 'lagoon', certainly didn't help. On the Solent side it was more constant, but the tide acting against the wind made for quite an angry sea state som...

I spend an awful lot of time at Calshot and recently had a fun 2 days photographing and videoing the AFS Demo Days at 24-7 Boardsports. Day one was deceptively windless and those who took to the water to try the kit, found it nigh on impossible to get up on the foil. Luckily, day two was much better and that is where the on water video footage comes from. Enjoy!
