Love this clip. ❤️💕🙏🎵
Curious if this ever does damage to the windshield
No to thr Busch Light. Ruined a $100 batch of smoked Mac & cheese that called for a can of beer.
Jason and Kirstie, great interview! Loved it! Always love to hear about Kirstie Kraus and her music. I’m looking forward to the new song! I plan to be on the Pirate Cruise! Looking forward to that! We’ll be there in Gulf Shores on 25 and 26 October. My first time for MOTM. May need some guidance on what all is going on and what we should see. Loved this interview. 🤗🤗🥰❤️💕💓🫶🇺🇸

@@jasonacyofficial Thanks🫡
I have a 1970s Griswold Wagner pan and it has a beautifully machined surface. Is that too much to ask nowdays?
Love it! Great song!
That’s a good lookin pot of chili!
Please, people, DO NOT DO THIS. This is a prime example of BAD information on the internet. You buy a cast iron skillet that is already seasoned by the manufacturer, grind off the seasoning (shudder) because it ain't smooth, and then spend hours re-seasoning it with olive oil (also wrong). It's absurd. Cast iron that comes seasoned is non-stick as it is, with only the use of a little oil. If you don't like the roughness of it, don't buy cast iron. Buy carbon steel, or something. If you buy cast iron, read and follow the manufacturer's instructions for care and use. But for the love of God, DON'T GRIND IT DOWN LIKE THIS.
Total waste of time. Your not gaining anything by doing this.
It was just an experiment, but thanks for your opinion!
Nothing to be ashamed of there. I put together a cargo trailer build a couple years ago and it was a shoot from the hip deal. Same as you, watched dozens of videos on the topic. Pick a little from here and there. lol It’ll probably never be “finished.” I don’t take credit for any of the ideas, but I don’t mind borrowing them! Life is the adventure so thanks for sharing!
When it’s so smooth it won’t hold he seasoning. Easy fix just pour vinegar on it and leave it overnight. It’ll Micro etch so the season has something to stick to. Then you can season it . Ask me how I know. 🤭
I don’t mean to be rude, but everything about this video is wrong. Never try to season with olive oil. This guy doesn’t understand about the roughness Please just look elsewhere.
It was just an experiment, everything is gonna be ok.
Oh, not olive oil! Too low a smoke point, and has its own flavor it can impart to food. Grapeseed is best, but canola or soybean will do.
i bet some crushed tomatoes and rotel would set it off .
I must be a special kind of stupid, I can not get my one pan seasoned. My girlfriend is tired of smelling me season it in the oven, thinking about maybe doing it on our grill outside.
Appreciate the efforts, my boy. Looks rather tasty, although I’d have to skim back on the seasoning due to sodium. Godspeed.
How do u like the harmony singer
Also a noticed u don’t have the tone button on, do u not like the sound it gives
Yeah I love it, use it at every gig. I usually always have tone button on, must’ve just been an oversight…
Love this song….such a catchy tune.
Thank you so much!
Appreciate this very much, I’m currently walking the path towards doing what you do.. I feel like I’m about a year away from being ready, and it’s channels like yours that help me prepare…👍🏻
Hey thanks man! It’s a constant struggle to stay confident in what I’m playing and singing, I’m always rehearsing between gigs and trying to get better, don’t know if I’ll ever be where I want to be. Keep plugging!
Great job man
Jesus stop grinding on your cast iron, people. You may think you’re helping it, you ain’t though. If you want a smooth cook surface, buy one that has one
Thanks for sharing....Cool little build, I wish more people would share the real issues they faced and how sometimes things just didn't work the way they planned. The information you shared is much appreciated as we attempt our first budget build.
Why not just put it on coals like it's meant for this is how not to use a Dutch oven
Great info ... thank you ... I'm just starting to build one now :)
Nothing better than cooking in a dutch oven on a campfire! subscribed!
Oh my. So unnecessary! My gram is crying just like me. No need to sand it!!!!
It was an experiment on a cheap Chinese made skillet, no need to cry.
I can't ever use any of those seasoning because of all the crap they have in them. I have to make my own seasoning from scratch.
That thing would swallow me up lol
I've smoothed out a couple pieces of cast and kind of wished I left them at least somewhat rough. Just seems to give the seasoning something to build up on over time.
I bought a Westinghouse griddle with the same type surface and after seasoning it, I never had a problem with it sticking.
I've always done a quick sanding on my lodge, nothing this extreme though. Then 3 avocado or flax seasoning and 3 trips into the oven at 350 for 40 minutes each, then I make 2 packages of thin sliced bacon. Boom. Best seasoning process ever. Non stick, easiest clean up ever, and never a problem cooking anything.
Outstanding
THANKS!
i am a huge ole miss fan too like the shirt
This song is motivation to my ears ! Greetings from Indonesia 😊
Beans are for poofders
Beans 🤮
Great song Jason!
Great idea! I have looked at tables for tailgates for a couple of months now and I’m not a fan of drilling new holes. Thanks 🤙🏽
I have 2 modern Stargazer skillets, 1 vintage Griswold all 3 are smooth, and all 3 have great seasoning on them I also have 15 pieces of Lodge cast iron cookware. I have 2 sets of 7, 10.25, 12, and 13.25 inch skillets one set is stock and the other set is sanded smooth. I have both sets now cooking and cleaning great. The difference is it took awhile for the sanded set to build up the seasoning. It was losing some with every use either from the cooking process or the cleaning process. But eventually it built up the seasoning and they look like black glass. But they don't cook or clean any better than the stock Lodge. When I get new Lodge I will knock down any bad spots, burs but I won't sand them smooth anymore. As far as I'm concerned 3 layers of seasoning over the factory seasoning and a basic Lodge Classic skillet is good to go. Must admit my Stargazers are by far my favorite skillets followed by a Lodge Blacklock 14.5 and then all my Classic Lodge. My 10.5" Lodge round griddle is my egg pan.
To lazy to cook fresh beans ?
Lazy? Hardly, and that would be “too.”
What are you doing ? Call your wife !😱😰😳
FAR TO much oil used to season.
My mother would kick your ass.
Wow, the freakout in the comments is kind of hilarious. I for one am interested to see if you can fast track these really cheap pans to something like an old high quality pan. Seems like an interesting idea.
Posted 2 years ago….how’s it looking/working?
It’s great, I use it all the time. I had no idea how much controversy this video would cause. People losing their minds over an experiment!
LOL…I don’t see what the problem is…it’s an EL CHEAPO skillet, and an EXPERIMENT…NOT like you ruined an antique or vintage piece….to customize a piece like this, to your preference, and to show the work, I think is GREAT!!!! I went to Walmart, and got a cheap mainstay skillet, smoothed it out, because I LIKE A SMOOTH SURFACE ti push pull drag a metal turner/spatula across, and I use it for camping, clean up is also a breeze….
@@jasonacyofficial Wow, Walmart really jacked up the price of those Ozark Trail pans. It DOUBLED. The 8" was $5, now it's $9.88. The 10.5" used to be $7.50, now it's $14.88. The covid BS really inflated these iron prices. Lodge pans went up $5 across the board, too.
