Jay's Biography: Jay Hesse is the Director of Biological Services for the Nez Perce Tribe’s Department of Fisheries Resources Management; he has worked for the Nez Perce Tribe for 30 years. His recent work assignments focus on real-time and future hydro-system operations relative to fish survival and achieving healthy and harvestable fish populations throughout the Snake River basin. Jay has expertise in anadromous fish population dynamics, hatchery effectiveness research, strategic planning, and multi-entity collaboration

    Thank you for posting this online seminar. A MILLION thanks to the Nez Perce for working on all of this. The Nez Perce have thousands of years of experience in the Salmon and Snake watershed, and more and more of us latecomers are listening and learning from it. Of course, the Nez Perce' steadfast dedication to the scientific process in this new reality is critical and appreciated.
