Even though you wouldn't think it but Thai culture is very conservative and you must dress modestly. Most Thai people when they swim at a pool wear clothes to cover themselves and not expose their body. Tourists wearing string bikinis are insulting Thai culture, they are knowledgeable about the festivals, the food, the temples etc but are not knowledgeable about appropriate dress.....typical white culture (I am white too btw)
