Ray White Metro North Office Fit Out - Concept Design
Skewed was engaged to provide Architectural design concepts for the new office fit out.
The brief for Ray White Metro North was to create a modern bright space for their successful growing real estate team. We worked with their leadership team to identify their current and future needs as their business and team grows.
The design incorporates new meeting room spaces to facilitate internal and external meetings for their sales and property management teams. The team spaces are set out at the same size to enable them to be open or enclosed depending on the team's specific needs. This is facilitated by either powder coated black aluminium framed glazing or vertical planter screens. Quiet Rooms are provided for extra privacy that may be needed either for video or phone calls.

    I think the approach is great, but I'm wondering how I can manage to include specific or correct information about the building material used (especially for multi-layer components)... A drywall consists of several layers, but I am only interested in the information that it is a drywall and not whether there is still insulation installed).

    Very nice, thanks! When I export a view to a DWG file, the pinned elements that are not visible in Archicad, become visible in Autocad. Is there a way to solve this issue?

    • @SkewedBIM
      @SkewedBIM 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@bigfuzztone7972 what do you mean by pinned elements? When you export a DWG you need to set up a view with the information you want to see in the dwg and then you need to set up the dwg export translator to the settings you need.

    • @bigfuzztone7972
      @bigfuzztone7972 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@SkewedBIM My apologies, it seems I was mistaken. After further investigation, the issue wasn't related to the renovation filters. It turned out to be a level dimension with the 'hide with associated element' checkbox checked. The level dimension is on a visible layer, the associated element is on a hidden layer. So this particular level dimension is not visible in my Archicad view, but it is visible in the exported DWG file. I haven't been able to find a setting in the DWG/DXF Translator to suppress these hidden dimensions during export.

    • @SkewedBIM
      @SkewedBIM 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ yeah they won’t be one as it is controlled in the location you found it. Another trap for dimensions I found several years ago was making sure you have the right setting for structure/all construction set to the right one before you start dimensioning. Because that also will set your dimensions to only appear for its specific setting and you can’t shift them. Which meant at the time I had to re-dimension everything due to my mistake. Did it once, never again.

Across the world I have seen many projects proclaiming to be delivered in accordance with ISO19650, with information managers engaged by the appointing party to perform the role on their behalf, and still the quality of the information requirements is sub-par! It just requires a lot of education on the opportunities to make this a really simple process. Sadly people are making it a lot more complex than it really needs to be.

      I think the point Pat was trying to get across is that unlike traditionally scripted elements the majority came from geometry saved as an object. He then demonstrates the method of adding scripting to the object to make it more usable.

    Project staging / phasing has been a shortcoming in ARCHICAD for a long time.

      In the end it can be handled by layers so I don’t see it as a big failure on the tools front. I think there are other areas that need a strong focus to be honest.

    Definitely rebuild my work environment every release, particularly the toolbars.

      It sadly takes time each release to do it but I find it is worth it. You then go through everything and check it is still relevant.
