I cook to suit my ow tastes, even simple snacking can be cool, fun, and tasty. I worked cooking in restaurants for about 10 years on and off, assistant manager of a couple. Same old recipes can get boring sometimes. Simplicity is bliss. Have a great day.

    is it possible to just take the riser and manifolds apart and clean them and inspect them and reuse them?

    • @capnstevoanythinggoes
      @capnstevoanythinggoes 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, it is possible if they are not too clogged or eaten away. I took a hammer and big screwdriver and slowly chisled awar inside the manifolds, spaces, and riser elbows. I put them back on and they worked just fine. I still had the heating issue I decided to replace them to just eliminate that factor. I still have the old ones in my storage for future use, hahaha. Use common sense judgement if they can be cleaned. Remember, that is the life blood coolling so you don't want to take uncecessary chances. I go 25 miles offshore in the Florida Keys so I play careful. Just pay attention to your heat gauge at idle and under stress of normal use. If it stays in normal range after cleaning and re-installing, you have a temporary fix.

      @@capnstevoanythinggoes ok thanks for the info. I live here in west Texas and this boat has been in only freshwater lakes. But the risers have never been serviced in over 15 years. My problem is one riser is hotter then the other ,and it doesn't overheat but it concerns me.

    • @capnstevoanythinggoes
      @capnstevoanythinggoes 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@hquiroz113064 I have also noticed one riser hotter than the other at times, even with the new manifolds. It is good your engine is not overheating. For the cost of new gaskets, it might be good to attempt to clean everything out. That will also let you see the internal condition of everything so you don't have to wonder. Also do a little more research on your particular setup and any symptoms common to it. The more you are familiar with the entire vessel, the more confidence you can have. I even replaced my exhaust backflaps to help prevent possibility of backwash of water which could slug the engine itself. The chance is very slim, but if the flaps are stuck, they could restrict outflow. Again, your engine is not currently overheating. Nice chatting with you by the way.

    • @capnstevoanythinggoes
      @capnstevoanythinggoes ปีที่แล้ว

      If all the hoses are outflow through the manifolds it shoud be fine, it's just the less resistance flow to the upper area helps keep the hot water in the motor longer whichs helps raise the motor temp. I does feel wrong, but analytically, it's correct. That is if you look at your system water flow completely and understand how it works. Like I said in the video, it worked for me.

    Hello I just replaced the impeller on my alpha 1 and she’s pissing good . Wondering if on muffs the left side riser got up to 145 and right side 115 . This was after idling for like 15 minutes

    • @capnstevoanythinggoes
      @capnstevoanythinggoes 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the engine runs within normal operating range, it should be good. After running my engine, I've also noticed that the port side riser, and even the maniflold, gets noticeably warmer than the starboard. I have not measured that but I can feel it on my hand. I can also feel the difference at the hot water outlets on the outside of the transom. It could just be a matter of the way the water flows inside the system. One side might get less resistance and better cooling. Try checking the temp at as many points on both sides of the engine block itself, before getting into the manifolds. to try to get a more true reading of the engine itself.

      @@OutOnTheReef Yes, I am looking to go there also. Fishing along the way, and staying longer makes the gas pan out better. I only have a 55 gal tank, but I also have a couple 15 gal plastic marine fuel tanks I can put insde the engine well and in the aft cabin. Plenty of room for extra fuel cans. That is why I got the Generator. I'm looking at an inverter like a Bluetti 2200 eish size instead of the Lithium-Ion batteries. Same thing, but an all-in-one package with all the sincs and readouts installed. Instead of worrying about charging and charge switches, you can just plug into the 12VDC receptacle and it charges while you use it that way. I could run the 17.3" Laptop, 2 door 3.4 cu ft refridgerator/freezer, and ice maker off that while fishing. The genny is mainly for the 8000 BTU A/C when needed. Can plug in folding solar panels to charge if staying on an island for a given time.That way I only have to worry about the battery switch between the starting and deep cycle batteries, (VHF and Simrad GO9 Chartplotter/Fishfinder). Did I mention, I'm ver envious of your new Autopilot setup? It's not in a bad way though, hahaha. I'll get there. I want to upgrade to a twin outboard later anyway.

    • @capnstevoanythinggoes
      @capnstevoanythinggoes 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I did finally figure it out, and was going to put a video up. It was the aftermarket cooling coupler. The parts store did not give me a diagram of how to hook up the hoses, so I hooked the hoses up according to the repair manual. The four hoses going out from the coupler, (outflow hoses two each side to bottom of manifolds and to riser elbows. They had to be reversed of the way the repair manual said because of the design of the coupler. By the manual, the two coming out from closer to the thermostat went to the bottom of the manifolds and the two coming out from the front of the coupler going to the elbows. The two outputs closer to the front of the coupler had less resistance and cooler water than that of going through the motor and thermostat, therefore creating more backpressure pressure at the elbow to keep the hotter water outflow from the motor/thermostat from flowing out. I mistakenly switched them and found out the wrong way worked. The hotter water output lines closer to the thermostat are now going to the elbow/riser, and the cooler less restricted output flow lines are now going to the bottom of the manifolds. This less restricted, cooler flow now helps flush the hotter water out through the system. She now runs at about 150 degrees on a 140 degree thermostat. I ran her 25 miles offshore out of Bahia Honda, Florida Keys, putting about 60 miles on one day and never ran over the 150 degree range. It was all about that slight difference in water flow pressure. No overheating issues whatsoever now. Simple two minute fix after 3 years. If there is anything I can maybe help with your situation, let me know more details and I'll give what helpful info I can. If you go to my TH-cam channel, click on "About", then lower on that page to the "Details" and "For Business Inquires", see if the email shows. Relate to that email address capnstevoanythinggoes@gmail.com then reply this comment back to me to let me know if you email. Then it would be easier to relay photos of issue, details, etc more privately, (for any security issues). It's all free, hahahaha. I might have some input that could help.

    hey Steve! appreciate you getting back to me! so I tried the overclock I just threw an extra 500 memory and 100 to the core and raised power limit to 113 and temp throttle limit at 91 and Its just not worthwhile to do this for a couple reasons. So I'm using a 120hz 55 inch TV and I'm already hitting my cap on some games at 4k maxed out graphics with the default setup temps around 70 -75 degrees. when overclocked was seeing it top out around 83 but an aggressive fan curve remedied this by taking temps to 75 again. however that's just gonna burn my fans out faster and for what vain really? I have since limited my fps to 117 to reduce screen tearing and for my case I'm using the 012 dynamic evo with 2 140mm fans as intake on the bottom with 3 other 120 intakes on the side with a rear 120 exhaust and a 360mm ryujin 2 aio above as exhaust that are paired with 3 noctua industrial fans capable of 2000 rpm. My cooler Is also fitted with a fan built into the pump to keep the vrm and chips cooler around the cpu and speaking of cpu the intel 12900k never goes above 43 degrees under load in gaming which is phenomenal since others are reporting 80 90 100 degrees under heavy load (not that gaming is necessarily a heavy load) but in games like tarkov with maxed out graphics my card nor my cpu even get phased by it. I'm currently using armory crates ai cooling and auto fan tuning for optimum fan control although it's difficult because I don't know which chassis fan is which and obviously neither does the software so I'm gonna turn the fans up one by one and see which one goes faster to discern this and then set up my own fan curve so my exhausts are slower than my intakes preferably for negative pressure. This card is just phenomenal out of the box and others complaining of high temps are just not downloading their firmware update using px1 or whatever that software is called. that's also where I was tinkering with the overclock I did some research and saw most people were not seeing big gains from it as well. The ram on the other hand I believe is running at 4200 mhz out of the 6000 capable because the 12900k max rating is 4800 mhz and I had someone enable xmp and I don't personally know how to change my rams speed I've been trying to figure it out in the bios. If you have any input at all I'd greatly appreciate it! and thanks again for the reply!

      @@housebaelishgaming Did you ever figure out the DRAM speed setting situation. I don't have 4 DIMMS and don't know if you need XMP for that. On my ROG STRIX Z690-E MOBO, the default speed for DRAM in the BIOS is 4200, no matter what speed memory you put in. I installed 2 X 16GB DIMMS DDR5 @ 4800 MHz, in BIOS, it showed me it had 32 GB@4200 MHz, so all I had to do is change the speed setting in the AI Tweaker page of BIOS. I left the other settings on AUTO. I don't remember if it activated XMP or not, or I did. I'd have to go back in and check. I have two desktops and a laptop, so I move around. If the amount of memory you installed shows correct, then just try to chang speed without XMP. If it works, then you will know if you need it or not. On my MOBO BIOS there was a little drop down menu on the DRAM that gave the speed option check boxes. Point and click, then double check. I don't know your level of BIOS knowledge, but when I started working on PC's, I learned you can have your MOBO manual in hand on the BIOS info and stoll through allmost any page in the BIOS and item to read what it does, drop down menus and all, without making changes. If something changes just by clicking on it, just don't move too quick by exiting and saving changes you don't want, hahaha. Click and change it back. If you still have any questions, you can always call the MOBO manufacturer Tech Support. As a buyer you get support rights, and they are always polite and helpful giving you answers. TH-cam has some answers, and I do initial research there to get a quick help of the newest stuff out, then I research each individual manjfacturer site to check compatibility of components to get max performance. Then I make my choices based on what I want and how far each component will reach. Research, design, then buy and build. By the time you get there, you should already know most of how to tweak from researck. I trust reading and learning for myself first before applying. When I do a new build, I take the time to walk through every BIOS page and item so I know where it is and where to tweak it. Older BIOS left more questions, but things are quite simple if you read everything. Cutting edge=more earning curve. In my occupation, if you make a simple mistake, something blows up, or in some cases, blow up in the wrong place, (Aerospace/Defense). I was a Launch Technician for Space X in Florida for 10.5 months, talk about a learning curve! You need to triple check everything before you click, hahahaha. I did earn the right to say, "Oh, by the way....It is Rocket Science", hahahaha.

      @@peaceandeats Well, a lot has happed since then. I had blown my fuel pump in the van while at Bahia Honda, the crash on the way back, The day after I got back, my van blew a head gasket, hahaha. The place where I stored my boat and extra trailer said we would all have to move them, and the company I worked for is no longer a vialble option. It piled up fast. I reuilt my newer aluminum trailer, sold the older wrecked one, took me two months to find a place to park my boat. Forced to take retirement at 68 instead of waiting until 70, at least I have a budget to pay things until I have it all under control again, whew! With retirement, they gave me the "6 month back option", and I got about 8,000 lump sum. I bought a newer tow vehicle, 2007 Chrysler Aspen 5.7 Hemi, 8,950 lbs tow range. I think towing distance with the van was too much on it. Still have and drive the van when needed for a couple more months. I've been darned busy, but it's good for me, keeps me from getting lazy. Boat runs great, just re-glassing the cabin floor/deck. Bought a new Westinghouse i2500 generator so I can have A/C on tthe boat out in the ocean, oh yea! Looking to add a nice 2 door refirdgerator/freezer and ice maker into the boat cabin also. Gonna be my ghetto mini yacht, with fishing capability. I'll be putting up more boat vids now that I am catching up. Put up three in the last two weeks. I'm working on moving down to the Keys again as soon as I can. Thank you. You were very friendly also. I'd love to see you out again. I very much like friendly people. Someone forced me off the road on the Turnpike on my way back to Melbourne from that trip. I slid across all three lanes and slammed the left side construction wall. They never stopped. It cracked the bottom left chine fiberglass sever places on the boat about midship, I lost a guide on post, got a blown trailer tire and rim, andother trailer tire sidewall sliced, bent trailer axle, bent the bumper on my van. It threw the boat about a foot forward and to the left about 4 inches on the trailer bending the bow upright everything around in the boat and broke a few other things. Good thing was, nobody else got involved, and I did not get hurt. I replaced the trailer, fiberglassed the hull, and am putting final touches on her so I can make another trip down, maybe mid August.

      The water in the bilge when the boat is on the trailer, is not a problem. It just runs out the drain. It was a good way to test if the impeller was pumping enough flow as to eliminate it as the cause of the overheating.

      I agree. I used to sell and install quite a few appliances as a sideline. The tough part is when you are doing full scale salvaging, having the space to handle sheer volumes and being able to sort aside and test/fix items. I had 1450 sq ft of warehouse space and was always cramped if I did not move things. About a third of things I acquired were genuine salvage. The rest were workable items that were either good as is, or only needed slight repair. I once found two, six inch. three tier silver candelabras and a silver cup that I sold for a nice price, in a garbage pile. I got lots of working window air conditioners, bicycles, microwave ovens, clothes washers and dryers, dis washers, refrigerators, etc...
