I'm a DJ from SoCal (California), who really loves music. My channel consists of my Video Mixes, DJ Mixes, Gig Logs and equipment tutorials and reviews. My music covers genres like Hip Hop, Top 40, Moombahton, Electro, Open Format, Latin Sound (Reggaeton, Cumbia, Guaracha, Merengue, Salsa, Quebradita, Norteñas, Banda, EDM, and Latin/Classic House etc.). I’m pretty new to this. My question is how can I hear myself mixing on the Ddj & hear myself talk on the mic through the headsets? I can’t hear myself talk through the headsets when I’m trying to blend songs.

Did you connect both usb for controller and external mixer to pc and you connect external mixer to controller line 3 and 4 using rca cable back of controller to external mixer XLR JACK LINE 3 and 4 correct?
connected the controller with xlr to 1/4 cable to the mixer on channel 3 and 4.

Yes. I connect sub then connect tops to sub
There's no EQ on channels 3/4 and 5/6. Makes it pointless. What if I want global EQ control?

Thank you! My English language is not good and i need to ask something because im using flx4. If i buy some mixer is it possible to use effect pedals on it? I looking for way to use effect pedals with my flx4.
I have the same mackie mixer, but i only see 2 green bars max when playing music even though the music is loud. Am i doing anything wrong or not setting up the levels correctly?
Seeing only two green bars is great. You should be worried when you are seeing red. As long as you are getting the volume, you require anything in green, up to yellow or orange. Is good.
Does external mixer really help in audio if we already have a good controller with good outputs??
It helps a lot with the mics. I used my controller for years without an external mixer. It is your preference.
How did you connect the speakers and sub?
I connect my sub to the mixer first. I then go from my sub out to the tops.
Thanks for the video. One little question please..... can you also use the EQ nubs with the line in from the controller or it only works but with the microphone line?
I have a similar question. Like once you get the mixer are you now managing your EQ on the mixer and not on the controller.

Only works on channel 1 and two. So if you connect your controller to those channels then yes. 😊

Mine is MacBook Pro 2017 and after playing for a while serato lags… have you played it for a while to see if it will lag?
Where do you connect the subwoofer?
To the xlr ports. Then I go from the sub to my tops.
@@DjSkadre but can you control the subwoofer itself? To control your subwoofer itself is to connect to phones with 1/4 cable next to the XLR ports output. That’s what I did and it works great.
yes i have heard that you can connect your sub to the Headphone out. Are you using this method. If so are you using a 1/4 to xlr to one input in the sub or are you running a 1/4 to xlr splitter to left and right on sub?@@Empire350z

Appreciate the review! It's been almost 2 decades since I was in the dj biz. But, looking for a "cheap" battery powered par to use in Halloween decorations. I'm not about to pay Chauvet prices for this purpose. Again, thanks for the good info!

Sub would be connected to the main outs. If you are looking to control your subs independently then i would suggest upgrading to the 10 channel or a 12 channel mixer.
Bro, if you have self powered speakers you can go from your highs to your subs to the mixer you can do it it on right and left. You can also get creative once you figure out what I'm talking about and you will once you start playing with the mixer. good luck!!!! Dj Elo in the mix!!!!!
Hey man I subcribed cuz your video was well explained cuz most are not wondering cuz I'm having a problem an maybe you know but i have the same mixer an I have the pioneer ddj-flx6 an the trtaktor s4 an I have the roland vt6-4 voice transformer an 2 yorkville ysm 8 can all those be hooked up together withru the 6 channel? Just wondering if you'd know is all you seemed like you knew alot about this stuff an keep doping what you are an I'll keep watching

how did you install serato on m1 (ventura or monterey)? i have serato sl3 and i can't use it because sl3 is not displayed in serato dj pro((((
I suggest you check the serato website to see if the sl3 is still compatible. A lot of products have not been updated.

My process is simular. I got a mackie 10 this week.. was lookikg for a long time on the Yamahaa AG-06. But ended up with a mackie. And boi did my sound improve. My sound was so bad before that i DJ in headphones... one more thing why i bought it.. NO Latency. Thx for the vid.

I have a Ddj flx4 working with rekordbox, do I need to buy a mixer compatible with rekordbox (pioneer) or can I connect any mixer to the consolle and still use Rekorbox?
Any mixer would work. The Flx4 only has 1/4 inputs right. So just make sure your mixer has the same compatibility.

Yes. It would be best to scroll through the preset scenes.

I got that mixer but not sure about the USB. I got the mixer incase a videographer wants to hook into my audio and also for a back-up.

Hi, what program are you using for DMX? I have these lights and I keep having a problem with ADJ airstream.
I was using a standard dmx board. Haven’t hooked them up to wireless dmx controllers yet. Let me know how it works out for you. Thank you.
@@DjSkadre They keep dropping out on me. Maybe my light(s) are defective.
@@JoeEsparza-r5t what do you have connected to the airstream. Try to reduce the cable length between the airstream and your inputs. Are you using wireless transmitters like the Donners?

I would run your Xlr out of the controller into the mixer. Then out your mixer to the input of your sub. Then up to you tops for best practice. Remember don’t forget to connect your speakers to an extension cord that is not a surge protector. A surge protector will most often make your speakers clip easily.
